My band The Dead Poets played there in the early 2000s it was an honor to play at a place that is only rivaled by The Alley where we jammed with some pretty famous folks but those of us who knows will never say. \m/

I came here to support a friend's band. They were set up in the lower part of the lounge so I only got to see this part. There was a small stage with some dance space in front and an average sized bar along the side wall. It was a Sunday night so the turnout wasn't great but decent. Just pay to park in their lot because there is NO street parking without a permit and the cops will tow you.
I had fun this Summer at the Viper Room. And since the Summer of 96. It's always a solid club to hit on the Strip. Plus I love the history of the Club with so many Hollywood greats having passed through its doors!
My Pals and I 1st made the pilgrimage to the Viper back in 98, 5 years on from River's passing...it was everything we'd imagined and more. Last week we headed back over to have a beer celebrate 20 years since our 1st visit..Sadly once in the queue we were told boldly that the place was packed due to a band playing? As it was early no later than 10pm we explained to the Lady in her mid 50s who was on the door that we'd head back later in the night. This made her lose her cool somewhat? As she repeated we'd have No chance. Calmly we explained that the band finished In a hour and we'd try once the crowd had left and again were met with a peculiar barrage of verbal, that she made the rules and She decided when the place closed? Shame we'd flown 6,000 miles to pop in. I guess the Lady in question felt she had a point to prove that night, sadly it was to us! Davis UK...
When I sang on Jimmy Kimmel when I was out there, I also had some down time and some fine Cali folks brought me to this outstanding establishment. Great crowds in L.A.Big pecking order in vermont, and that is why I want to let you fine Cali folks hear my new original, U2ish with Pink Floyd sounding mixed in. The Viper Room was alot of fun. Hope to play this song there.
If you like mash-ups, even a little, you will love Bootie. The atmosphere is great, the people are generally friendly and are there for the great music, and the venue is pretty good. A+D are great and keep the energy up as the night goes on.
Not that the service was bad but the place is a dump. So small with low ceilings. My bedroom is as big as this place. Glad that the new development is coming in and giving it a new space
Great little venue steeped in Sunset Strip history and fond of filling their stage with up and coming bands. Definitely brings in some uncool patrons but overall a good crowd.
Its one of those historical venues that you should check out in sunset strip , its a small and very personal venue , perfect to check out for new music and artists as well as some great bands close and personal, lighting was alright and drinks were priced just as you might expect from a bar, not cheap at all ..
Awesome staff with a fantastic attitude, cool atmosphere and a large bar for the venue size. If you re into the show, The Viper Room only enhances the experience.
"Men" can't wear sandals in this establishment, according to the hag at the entrance. However women can, and this is a men only rule. She needs to follow the rules on the inside of the door: "Don't be dumbass."
Went here just before closing. The ladies didn't charge us cover and allowed us in for one drink. Band had just finished. Cool place with a lot of history.
Myself and my friend went to the Viper Room in LA and paid an exhaustionate entrance fee of $15 each. When we got inside the band Red Not Chilli Peppers played 3 songs before it was closing time. The lady on the front desk was rather dishonest and could have said they were closing soon out of curtesy however we wasted one of our only nights in LA. Drinks we also overpriced and it would not be recommended to others.
Saw a show here a minute ago and was pleasantly surprised. Similar in several respects to the Whisky most of the same issues arise: sound quality, size, humans. House engineer is/was pretty decent with the act I saw only having to do minor adjustments to his levels. The bar is expensive, no surprise there, but if you want to make a night of it I suggest bottle service. You get a booth and that solves the "humans" problem. "What problem?" you might ask. Adding people to a venue of this size makes space a precious commodity and most patrons will find themselves rather personally acquainted with one another.
This place is a blast! Had an amazing time at this place getting drunk and dancing to live music. The staff there is super cool and friendly too! A must hit spot if you're visiting LA!
We are tourists from the United kingdom. We arrived at around 11pm to watch the Red Not Chilli Peppers. We paid $15 for entry. I feel the entry staff were dishonest they did not tell us the band had been on already for a long time and it might not be worth coming in.
Once inside we were given a beer which we did not order and it was a beer my friend could not even finish because it was horrible.
The band were good for the 3 songs we saw. But we walked away feeling as though the staff at viper rooms had been dishonest and wasted our time and money
Piss on the bathroom floors, no place to sit without paying top dollar and crappy bar service without a smile. I love this place for all of the above. As a nostalgic Hollywood local hangout along with the bands you are here to see, the experience is classic and worth every penny. However, I did notice that there was some construction going on in early 2016 so I can't speak much for this place after that time.
