My fav place to go with my honey. The Monte Cristo is my usual. Usually we dont arrive early enough for their breakfast. I happen to love their french toast. The Monte Cristo is a ham and cheese sandwich basically but the bread is french toast! Get some maple syrup and there you got breakfast. Sit outside if the weather permits its. Its like walking into a diner that should be in the Secret Garden. Magical!
You must stop by Tower Cafe!! The food is absolutely amazing! I make jerk chicken at home, but have never had it at a restaurant. It's one of favourite ways to make chicken, so naturally I had to try it. I was not disappointed! So moist and flavorful! The staff was super friendly and the environment was unlike any other! If you're in the Sacramento area and was a delicious meal, go to tower cafe.
I shopped x street @ Tower video & music. Great bargains on DVD's, CD's - excellent, competent service.
Delightful restaurant with excellent service. Good prices. Excellent French toast. Wish they delivered to Texas.
food was great. took friend there for first time and he loved his burger and the German chocolate cake to die for
Beautiful patio with fountains, lush plants and statuary. Inside has collectibles, posters and art from around the world and real foliage. Food is a hodge podge of cultures, usually quite delicious. Nice lighting and seating arrangements. Destination par excellence for brunch!
Food is yummy burn the wait time us out of control, 1 hr to be seated..
This place has consistently good food in a festive atmosphere.
Fantastic food.... Everything here is incredible. And such friendly people.
Very good outdoors atmosphere to go along with a great tasting menu. The salmon is very fresh. Nice little drink menu as well?
Awesome food, noisy atmosphere, eclectic decor, great service. If you have guests from out of town, bring them to this historic restaurant. Diverse menu--you have to try the Monte Cristo sandwich. Their Chipotle-rasperry jam is heavenly!!!
I've been going here for years. Food is always very good with large portions. The line to get in can be very long at times but worth the wait. It always seems to be very crowded when I have been there. I would definitely recommend.
Slow service. Brazilian salad was kind of bland and overpriced.
Wonderful place to go for lunch or dinner!! Great food wonderful outside patio seating they do have heaters if it's cold out. Food is outstanding!! As well as deserts! Great decor inside! I have never had a bad meal! Reservations for dinner are recommended.
Excellent service, delicious food and big portions in a friendly, eclectic atmosphere
Very delicious, very beautiful, and very nice staff. When I walked up this place was packed, and there's nothing I hate more than waiting for breakfast, but!!! This has been one of the most beautiful cafe waiting area, it's was almost like waiting in a garden, ok I'm exaggerating a little bit, but tbh plenty of seating, a fountain, and just overall nice seating area. When we got seated the place has an almost eccentric authentic Mexican restaurant decor with various other cultures mixed into it. Very cute, and the food was good too. I got the Thai steak, and it wasn't anything too elaborate. But the taste was simple and amazing at the same time. I loved it and 100% recommend it if you're in Sacramento.
Eclectic decor and food. If you're looking for a delicious and unique dining experience in Sacramento, go here.
Had a great breakfast here. Cornmeal pancakes are amazing, and the service was too.
2nd time going for breakfast.Good food and service.
Dining outdoors "here" is the best place in Sacramento!
Eclectic food choices and large portions.
Breakfast is to die for, especially if it includes the hash browns !!!
Or French toast or the pancakes or the..
Get the point!
Tower cafe is a go to spot for good food, especially breakfast. They have really unique options and traditional favorites. I tried the crab sandwich this time (I normally do the pancakes). It was fantastic! Their white mochas are super tasty too. Blood orange mimosa- delightful. Service is always good. Sitting outside is preferred! It's a covered patio area under the trees. A bird did poop on me once tho
Stellar food, great decor. Solid drink selection. Nothing bad to say at all. Go here, get breakfast.
Eclectic breakfast menu sporting the usual breakfast fare, but with an individual touch, e.g. the cinnamon whip cream on the fruity french toast. The portions are huge. They have a very nice patio where the shrubs, trees and sound of running water conceal the fact that you're next to a fairly busy street. The place can get busy in the mornings soon after opening. It's worth a visit even if you're just on the way through as it's only a couple of minutes off of US-50.
Food are all great, and very oriental exotic decoration. Lovely!
The atmosphere is beautiful and unique both inside and out. I had the Monte Cristo and it was great. The service was kind and quick. The portions were also generous. I look forward to returning to try the desserts.
Slow service during brunch, careless with food allergies, showed they give almost zero f's for your request to keep things off of your plate due to food allergies.
Eclectic colorful...and wide selection including gluten-free, veggie, milk-free, and then stuff for everyone else...
First time here because of the good reviews but I was not fond of eating old food. I ordered the Malaysian Chicken sandwich with fries. The fries was from the day before and it was heated and brought out. I can tell from new fries from old fries. The pineapple was the same. There was no flavor in the sandwich. I couldn't taste the hoisin and ginger in the sandwich and the pineapple wasn't help either. First and last time eating here.
Tasty food and lovely service. Awesome grotto dining outside.
Weird food. My husband once got a burger there with a nickel size spot of blue green mold on the bottom bun. When he showed it to the waitress she accused him of putting it on the bun. Like you can just stick mold on something! We've never been back.
I think Tower Cafe is great. I can always find something new or interesting to try. Decent burger too. Oh! Preservation Bloody Mary's! So good.
All kinds of food items are served throughout the day. Pesto raviolis, custard french toast, and banana cream pie are some items that come to mind. Service isn't always the most amazing, but it has such a nice patio outside sometimes it is worth it.
Loved the food here. Service was very good too. Lots of desserts to choose from!
I lil' pricey but with the menu it's tough to go wrong. The outdoor area is what makes it, for me.
First time here today and my experience was... Mediocre at best. While the setting and atmosphere is novel, the food was pretty "meh" the hamburger I ordered wasn't done medium and honestly nothing special.
My main beef was with the server towards the end of our evening there. I admittedly had forgot to mention the table wanted separate tabs. While I do fully understand that it was pretty busy during my time there, and I know splitting things at the POS can be a pain. There was no need to be super rude.
Good food n service the venue is a little crowded with stuff ! Wall ceiling walkway counter tops etc.
Excellent breakfast during weekdays and brunch on the weekends. Ambiance inside is nice; outside is even better if the weather is nice.
The food is good, if you're a fan of Mexican. With it's brightly colored ceramics & artwork studded walls add to the rustic atmosphere. It is very crowded for brunch. Very. And there's only 2 bathrooms. Noise levels are high, so conversation is either screaming across the table or pressed a little close to the person next to you. I can't say I felt the meal was stellar. It seemed like lots of bread & not much of everything else. The waits for a table are long. Small parties will do much better than large ones. My group of six had a wait of an hour. I arrived early so had a wait of over an hour. The wait for a meal was also long, but thankfully not an hour. It's a neighborhood fave & a dining destination, but unless you really love this place, it's probably not worth up to 25 minutes cooling your heels.
Delicious food with several ethnicities & fusions represented.
Good food
With good friends.
Our server was very kind and attentive. She let me know the bloody Mary's were spicy when I ordered. I thought it had a good spice, not too spicy. We had the breakfast burrito which was HUGE and a couple All Week breakfast plates. The apple bangers were delicious. I loved the eclectic decor too. We were sat next to a large Gila monster. LOL!
The food is amazing! Let me start with the corn bread. Not overly sweet, the crust is lightly crispy and super buttery. Add on top of there their bacon syrup and you are fighting everyone for a bite!
I had the Eggs Benedict, 2 egg tower. Wow. The hollindaise was super light and tasty. The eggs perfectly cooked and the ham delicious with a yummy English muffin with some crunch! Oh and those potatoes! Crisp outside, tender inside and the potato flavor shines thru.
The decor inside is every cool and eclectic. Lots of cool eccentric pieces that work together. Didn't get to dine outside, but it looked very cosy. Next time!
We will be back!
Very yummy. Had the Waldorf salad. Others had the Pesole, Mole, and Benedict. Great mid-day meal.
Amazing place! Best in Sacramento! Ingenious interior, tasty food, big portions !
This place is not the place to come too.
They will not be helpful in any way. My mother in law is allergic to shrimp, she asked if it would be possible to switch the shrimp taco to chicken. Keep in mind she was ordering a plate with 3 tacos.
The waiter, ask the manager if it would be possible to make a change....I witness the manager saying in a egotistical manner...no.
Once I seen this, I did not ordered any food and realized this is not the place to come if you want service.
This place is truly over rated......I recommend you look at other options, right here in the neighborhood....Dad's or Joe Marty's
This manager, would not last, in a top notch restaurant....anywhere.
Good cafe vibe over all. The Thai steak and eggs, French toast and tower special are all good.
Wonderful food & cool atmosphere. Try to sit on the patio if you can.
Fantastic breakfast here all 4 of us were very happy with our meals. There decor is really busy. Service was excellent
Servers and employees were very friendly and helpful
Looking for a cool eclectic dining experience and a local icon? As you may have read, Tower Cafe is it. I've had lunch and dinner here several times (great date night paired with the historic tower theatre!) and each item I have ordered was super and original. YUM!
Excellent service and family friendly. Drinks and food is very good.
One of the best restaurants in Sacramento. We always go there during the weekends.
Food is amazing, decor is great and the people is super nice, especially Spring and Do
Went to TC for lunch and it was excellent. Place was packed at noon and it was a monday. Waited ten minutes and sat down in the garden. It was cool outside, but they have heaters running and it was very comfortable. They have many beers and wines to choose from and the food was amazing. I had a Thai steak salad and it was the best I have ever had. The rest of our group were equally impressed by the service and food. We will go back on my next trip to California. Came from Illinois to visit family.
Veracruz Salmon Linguini, kick of spice with yummy pieces of salmon. Enjoyed this spicy dish, well I love all spicy dishes. Tower grilled cheese always a go to. Polynesian Guacamole was perfect blend of mango & avocado. It was the perfect day to have lunch outside. I always enjoy the outdoor seating area. Thank you Tower for being a Sacramento staple!
You can bring anybody here and they'll probably like it
French Toast is magical. Desserts are epic. Right next a groovy Indie movie house. Never had a bad dining experience here.
Great service and food. Quite crowded and seated right by the door so was chilly. Otherwise, amazing menu selections
Great food and fun atmosphere, everything I've ordered so far has been fantastic, never disappointed!
EXPENSIVE Pricey, the Place is always packed and very busy.
I enjoy this spot. Just had a burger with side salad. It was perfect. The battered fish was very pleasing. The batter was nicely crisped but the cod was flaky and tender.
Burger and fries I got were really good. Service was super fast and friendly despite being mobbed. Will definitely return. Decor is pretty wild & fun. Parking lot is kind of bad but worth dealing with.
Best breakfast in town. Great food, historic restaurant, with a long wait for a reason
Great selection, service and food. Although Iive pretty far from the Tower Cafe, I do try and get over there as much as I can when the opportunity presents itself!
Colorful interior with a very nice outdoor seating surrounded by plants. Decent menu of items from around the world and a broad cocktail menu. Amazing desserts.
