Found this by accident whilst having car windscreen fixed at autoglass. I was grumpy, having driven an hour to get there. Sitting drinking a lovely coffee, whilst watching kitesurfers sail by, really improved my mood. I was slightly upset when autoglass called to say the car was ready. If I'm ever back in Lancing I'll be going to The Perch

Good

Nice place on the seafront with good views.

Had a limited food menu for the cafe guests but if you really wanted to eat you would sit down anyway.

Nice place for a coffee and a view.

Sadly to say that this visit was a awful experience compared to previous visits.

We asked to be seated for 4 adults and a high chair. When we were seated there was no high char. So we had to wait for this.

Staff were friendly and polite but seemed very disorganised. Trying to get attention of the waiting staff it was nearly impossible. The staff were not making eye contact with anyone. The staff didn t seem to have a particular area to work and were running all over the place.

The breakfast menu was very limited compared to previous visits and there is no children s menu. Not even the option to buy sides like extra beans/ toast etc..! At best the cooked breakfast was ok.

Sadly to say from previous great visits it s unlikely we will return

Nice views overlooking the sea. Very busy Sunday morning. Nice breakfast , probably too large for some. Mushroom large but bland and sourdough chewy. Dreadful music thumping in the background spoiling the ambiance. Staff very pleasant.

Starter was tasty. Small portions but main was definitely enough. Not the cheapest but not too bad value either. Smoked salmon tasted great and steak was amazing. Mussles and chips were very tasty too but there was too much sauce. (Even though it was very tasty) Half the mussles were submerged in sauce. ._.
Service was friendly but the waiters talked amongst themselves and didn't look out for customers.
Limited types of food. Only chicken, beef and salmon. (And mussles)

Visited today because my daughter been several times and loved it
Unfortunately my first time here and it will be the last.
We were seated on the left hand side of the restaurant. On our own with the right hand side busy.
The server took our order without any friendly smile.
The lady who placed the food on our table was great(that's why I give a star).
After this we saw no one(no one to check the food was ok or if we needed anything else).

There was a group of staff sitting having their break four girls and a boy.The server that was left serving stood with them having a laugh. One of them stood up took her hair out of her ponytail and started to brush it in the restaurant she then walked into the food prep are with her hair down.
We waited 20minutes calling the server for our bill and several times she looked and walked the other way.
When we finally got our bill I talked to the server about my concern ,she said they were on their break walked over to them pointing over to the table and telling (what I think was the acting manager )at the time.
No one came over to apologise and as we walked out the said thank you
Good food but customer service needs training

Great place located on the beach pebbled seafront. Upon entering the venue you are presented with an industrial feel look and feel to the place, which is both cool and eclectic. Staff are super friendly and look like a great bunch. I can here to visit friends who live in the area and they recommended this place for drinks. With sea view row seats where the local birds even come to hangout.
Must visit here for their pizza and local drinks. Wine is on tap - enough said

Soooooo noisy you can't have a conversation & this really spoils the atmosphere of a beachside cafe, but if if you're deaf, Just turn your hearing aids off & you'll be fine. Otherwise, if it's warm ebough, sit outside, as their food is good & it's a great location. Some kind of sound deadening covering on the ceiling & the place would be great.

One of the few places along this stretch of the Sussex coast that you can sit right on the beach and have a decent coffee and a slice of cake. The food is pretty standard fare for lunch, good but not outstanding, if you can't get a table in the restaurant side of Perch then it is only chips and cake in the cafe and not much else. the staff are friendly and it is a great spot to sit and watch the sea. Turn up early for breakfast on the weekend, it is deservedly busy.

Great food, the drink selection is very good, reasonable wait time, only thing that was a little annoying was the constant announcement of order numbers. Overall, a great place to take the kids, as its by the beach and tidd is usually very gentle.

Really well placed and possibly a victim of the positioning and popularity. That means you have to wait for things when busy. We waited 15 mins for a takeaway coffee. Nice styling and decent menu but need to work out how deliver more quickly and consistently

No disabled access. Could not get there. The road to it is private, with no drop-off or parking. Contacted them afterwards, and they confirmed this. Nearest parking is 100m away in sea front car park.

Called in for a coffee, very poor welcome. Asked for a fruit scone, the waitress had no idea what one was. Were then told we were sitting in the area reserved for eating . Will certainly not be recommending or returning.

I come here at least a couple of times a week for breakfast/lunch or just a coffee after the gym. The staff are great & the food is always outstanding (apart from once my poached eggs spent a bit too long under the heat lamps) but they where really busy so I can over look this. The views are nice if you get a window seat looking out to sea, although I don't have a dog anymore I used to find it a bit of a nightmare to find places that accepted dogs but they do here which I think is great. All in all I highly recommend the Perch but beware that the weekends are always really busy so there will be a wait for your drinks food etc...
