Perfect. Perfect in every aspect the decore as well as the buffet. I would have loved to stay a few night there. Not only to see the room service that they offered but as well as relaxing with my family.

It was my first time visiting the Catamaran Resort and it was amazing! It's exceptionally tropical and it feels like Hawaii (I have been to Hawaii.) There are ponds everywhere and you are a VERY short walk from Mission Bay. It was right outside of our hotel room. The pool was okay. The Atoll Restaurant is conjoined with the resort and has a great view! The lobby has a beautiful waterfall. Overall, the ambiance of the resort made my stay spectacular! I highly recommend this resort.

The staff are all extremely professional, everything is clean and proximity to the beach and the water is exquisite. Watching the sunrise right behind the hotel was amazing.

This is a great location right on the water and very low-key. Go here frequently to eat, never stayed there as I am a local. The restaurants are right on the water and the food is excellent as is the view.

The resort has got to be one of the best in San Diego...certainly in Pacific beach. My family always stays here when they visit and I will join them to have dinner at the hotel restaurant from time to time. Great hotel with an amazing staff and well kept grounds. I would recommend it to anyone coming to San Diego. Great views from the rooms.

I have to stayed there but have visited. During the summer they have movies on the beach Sunday, Monday, and Wednesdays.

Family tradition has broung us her for generations. Great location for family time and relaxation. The facilities are showing their age here and there. But overall still a great experience.

Loved the grounds, lush tropical gardens. They also have exotic parots, ducks & koi ponds. Great location. Rooms are outdated.

Recently attended a work function hosted at the Catamaran, which turned out to be a lovely day! The food provided by the hotel was very tasty and the service was outstanding. We even had the opportunity to rent paddleboards from the hotel's rental service, which was painless and well-priced. Highly recommended for your next company outing!

Lovely service from the moment we got out of the car to the time the bellman loaded our bags on departure.

I rode by on my bicycle and their stupid ad attached itself to my phone and I can't get rid of it even though I'm 700 miles away. Thanks a lot.

Came for a wedding. It's a beautiful location, maybe a location for my future wedding.

Attended the new year's Eve event for the 2nd year in a row. Great event with great music and the layout of the resort is nice for a large party. Definitely good value.

We come back every year. Nice staff. Convenient access to restaurants, marina and beach.

The scenery is awesome, it really feels like you're somewhere in the tropics. The beach is just a few steps away. Older rooms could use some updates but are clean .

Lobby bar is awesome. Sushi rolls are delicious and the Moscato was great. Service was also very good. We will be back!

Nice spot on the bay, good service and reasonably priced food/drinks. Cant beat the $10 cruise on the bay.

Everyone who works at the Catamaran is super pleasant. Some aspects, like the tub, may show a little wear, and one screen door didn't close properly. The robes and towels make up for that. The bay view is amazing. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor koi pond. There are five or six exotic birds (like parrots) in the garden that can be seen at any time, and an informative, relaxed "meet the birds" presentation every afternoon. There are beautiful ducks on the grounds as well. Every evening you can take a paddleboat, the Bahia Belle, from the Catamaran pier to their other property, the Bahia. There are boats and bikes to rent, at reasonable rates. There are chaises under umbrellas along the beach. There is a restaurant, a bar and a really good coffee shop. You can essay or drink, it just relax at outdoor tables. There are also a few fire pits with plush seating around them. Just a great place. So glad we went back again.

Catamaran Resort has one of the best locations right on the bay, with the open ocean right across the street. They have a clean facility, and fun amenities i.e. bikes, kayaks, etc to rent. Also, it is within walking distance to grocery stores and many restaurants.

Went for drinks on a Sunday night. Drinks were good, service was friendly but extremely slow.

Went to see the fire works, they were amazing at the bay view the resort offers! As well as went into my uncle's room wich was beautiful as well!

I use to live in Pacific Beach, so to go spend the day as a tourist in the Catamaran is really a must, specially when you have friends from out of town. Food is amazing I love the salmon salad with the ceviche all fresh and delicious. The vibe is great, you feel like you are in Hawaii, very friendly and helpful staff.

Great location, poor quality rooms. In urgent need of a refresh.

Sitting on the beach feels more like a lake, which is great if you have small kids because there are no waves. Lots to do in the location. The property is aging though and it is starting to show. The rooms are very dated and every one I have stayed in has been very musty smelling. We enjoy Paradise Point a lot more now.

The waiter Stacey was so kind and friendly, and besides the food (eggs Benedict) was rich. The restaurant also has beautiful view of the bay.

We have stayed here many times in the past 10 to 12 years. It's dated but we over look that, the carpet needs to be replaced. The tropical area and the ground floor patio's needs a little power washing a least ever now and then.
I ask about the Hibiscus suite, front desk said could only be rented to upper management or VIP's, I got curious and found this review :

Great Stay
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hibiscus Suite. This Suite was perfect! This was a 1 bedroom suite, 2 bath rooms, living area (no kitchen), and full private patio with a view of the water! We didnt want to leave the room. It was my birthday and they guaranteed us a late arrival with no problem and had a nice welcome gift on the table when we arrived. The service was friendly and attentive. This hotel is also in a great location, we had a blast and did not have to travel far from the resort to eat or have fun.
We do enjoy staying here, but sometimes we stay in La Jolla and other places, this happens to be close to our daughter ( our new grandson) and our son, its convenient and 3 1/2 stars, it could be a 5 with not much work. PS - Food is wonderful.

What can I say I love this place, stayed there once before we bought a few blocks away, but the resturant and service are first rate!

Great affordable family resort with many activities.

The staff was very nice and the landscaping is beautiful. But there is no way this hotel should charge what it does, the rooms are so beat up and outdated. The kitchen was from the 50's and not in a cute way. I reserved a bay view, got a parking garage instead. They charge for parking even though the lot is 80% empty. Nickel and dime you to death.

Went for a conference and it was actually a really great location. It is an older Resort so the personal so the interior decor was not upscale or modern my opinion but definitely beach-themed and true to location. I thought the staff was nice and responsive, and definitely felt family friendly being right next to the beach. I would say at night, it was a little noisy but it's just the sound of people having fun. Their restaurant, I think it's called Oceanside, had excellent food and wine. I had the sea bass, the Crudo, and the creme brulee and they were all outstanding. I'm posting pictures of the jellyfish tank and the view of the bay (where we had lunch).

Oceanic Coastal was great Resterant Robert J and Micheal B were superb hosts. Sharon and myself felt we had a wonderful view at the Catamaran. Thanks for your 100%.

The beach front was excellent, and the service was outstanding.

A beautiful property with ponds full of fish and ducks. Hotel is a bit older in terms of furnishings but the staff is simply awesome. The beach by mission bay and walking distance to ocean beaches.

Went for drinks with relatives who were staying at the hotel. Bar didn't have a ton of beer selection, but the selections they had were good, and they put the beer in a to go cup so we could hang by the pool with our beverages. Very nice.

My relatives seemed to be very happy with their room, and I may stay there sometime when a staycation is in order.

Visually very nice hotel and nice amenities. However everything seems old. The roof has visible patchwork, the TV remote seems to be from 1992 and no bathroom power outlets. There are things like radio with a few charging ports and power station. price I paid was reasonable for a late booking with wedding group discount. The views can be nice of the tropical area and of San Diego if on a high floor. Food options are typical and when I went to the "quick" food place in the morning in the lobby there was a long line that took a while but it was Saturday.

Right on beach! Food is delicious.

We had a great stay with our family. We loved the zen garden atmosphere inside and the calm bay outside for our toddlers. Justin was awesome! He went above and beyond to help us out.

Good atmosphere, very nice place. Rooms need some updating.

Stayed for a week, very nice place, friendly staff. Renovations in progress but didn t detract from the stay. Would like to see the updates.

Pleasant experience. Good food and waitress didn't rush us when we were just trying to catch up. She was awesome and did a great job!

LOCATION IS UNBEATABLE but ..... Checked in yesterday. Staying for 4 nights.
Extremely old rooms and everything else.
The mold smell in the room is so strong, I can t stop sneezing. It s non stop.
Only happens when I come back to the room. They offered a different room but it has the same smell.
Restaurant food is not fresh at all!
Had a hamburger with old hamburger buns and soggy cold fries. Hamburger meat was still frozen in parts .

Service is great, it s not their fault that this place is so unkept.

Walked in and was immediately greeted. Host was friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and clean

Love this hotel! It's like a tropical Paradise right in San Diego. Rooms aren't anything fancy but their clean which is all I care about

The WiFi was unusably slow, when it even worked. Also, the rooms look like they haven t been redecorated since 2003. Other than that though, decent service and a good view.

My wife and I spent our anniversary here, and it was great! Very reasonable pricing. Nice amenities are available on the grounds. Location is amazing, right on Mission Bay, with only a 2 block walk to the Pacific Ocean! Plenty of great bars, restaurants and the Pacific Beach boardwalk are all within walking distance of the Catamaran. I would definitely visit San Diego again, and plan to stay here at the Catamaran!

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was dated, but clean. The bed was very comfortable. The best part of my stay was the beautiful landscaping. There are amazing koi ponds and ducks waddling all over the property. There are also some amazing large birds and a handler that was informative and fun. Overall, a great experience!

Unfortunately didn't get a chance to stay overnight but attended some wedding related events at this picturesque location. Really beautiful, right along the bay, great location for seeing a lot of what San Diego has to offer

My wife and I enjoyed the experience of the resort. Attending a convention, we mixed business and pleasure. I wanted to say thank you to Haley
for her help ensuring a smooth room transition during our 5 night stay. We moved from the 5th to the 14th floor and enjoyed both experiences. The atmosphere was great. Look forward to our next visit.

Hotel bof outdated rooms air conditioning ultra noisy, corridors very old, on the other hand good location, good restaurant is perfect for families not looking for luxury or modernism. Hotel clubs 3 stars.

This place is right in the center of great food, beaches, excursions, and such an amazing place to stay. Service and rooms are excellent. Highly recommended, will be back again.

Lovely grounds and view from the tower. The buildings are quite"tired"...and service is limited. The $25/day "resort charge" is a rip off. They say you get free umbrellas and chairs on the beach..and when you get there you read the sign that they are also FREE to the general public and not even hotel guests. You get nothing for this extra charge except a couple "free" $1 bottles of water.
Other than the wonderful restaurant, this place needs a TOTAL renovation...

The customer service is great. The hotel is very nice, a bit on the older side, but very well kept. Proximity to public beach is very good. Luau was vey fun.

Nice place. Accommodations a little tired. Staff was superior.

Fantastic sunday brunch, amazing raw bar. Unlimited champagne...take your entree home for later!

We had a mesaage service at the spa and it was amazing. The whirlpool is on the beach and you get use of it all day with any spa service, you also get use of a relaxation room, the sauna, steam room and the pool.

Brunch buffet format big change. Brunch not as good but extra entree is good value: 3 to 4 high quality meals for $70.
