As always it is amazing. Pool is packed but still relaxing. Love it.

Rooms are clean, a little old, but clean. The oven in our room was too old to work properly. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Walking distance to the ocean. The spa was wonderful! Would definitely stay there again.

I don t normally write reviews but I m so disappointed by our experience this past Easter Sunday I decided I needed to. We paid $80 pp for the Easter brunch which included a boat ride and a very poorly organized egg hunt. The food was good and service was excellent but the egg hunt?! It was set up in hay which wouldn t have been so bad except they didn t have enough eggs for all of the kids. It appeared that maybe the first dozen kids that ran across the starting line got the eggs and the remaining kids were left out and there were a lot of kids. We stayed for the second egg hunt because my son was pretty upset and luckily he was at the front of the line for the second hunt and got several eggs but not the kids in the back. It was so sad watching all the little kids with their empty baskets walking out disappointed and listening to their parents try to explain. For $80 pp they could have done a much better job and I hope they read their reviews and do a better job next year!

Great hotel and resort! Went there for a 3 day team outing with my company and had a blast! Room had a nice balcony with a Bay view and did some water sports on the bay as well. Rooms were nice and tidy and the resort was well kept. The whirlpool was spacious and the pool was kept at a good temperature.

Good place to grab a coffee and sit out near the beach.

My husband and I had an evening out on the bay, we had appetizers and drinks overlooking the bay. We have stayed here a few times, always a quiet romantic time.

My in-laws recently stayed here and told me it was wonderful. They stayed with 3 in their party (2 adults and 1 child) on the side with the children's pool. Movies were showed every night at 8pm by the pool. The room & staff were amazing. I can't wait to personally stay here myself.

Beautiful resort. Absolutely no reason to leave the grounds! The exotic birds are a beautiful addition. Restaurants and bars are well appointed to meet any cravings. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. The pool and spa area are very relaxing and poolside drink service is terrific.

We went to a Hawaiian luau there. The Catamaran is a beautiful resort,the beach is great. There was lots of great food and entertainment.

Had a wonderful time there with my Mom week of July 6-10, 2015. Very nice "handicapped" accommodations, relaxing view of gardens and pond/stream from our patio, polite and helpful staff all-around. Lots of on-site activities, including bay-side movies, Tiki Torch lighting ceremony, luau, ferry ride, restaurants, and swimming in the pool or Mission Bay. Great place for family reunions!! We will be back.

Great ambiance, and decor. Love the tropical theme. I loved walking the grounds meeting the macaws, the huge fish in the pond, and enjoying the scenery. The pool is heated, the Jacuzzi roomy. My only complaint would be the prices in both restaurants at the hotel. I guess you pay for ambiance and beachfront. We went down the street about 1/2 block to a taqueria. The employees at Catamaran are exemplary. Had a really nice stay.

Very nice place with a fantastic view on the bay and excellent food

My husband and I stayed in November 2017 for 3.5 days. We had a room on ground level facing Mission Bay. The sunrise over the bay was incredible glistening off the water. On the way to our room there was lots of tropical scenery like trees, large rocks & fish in a man made pond with ducks walking around as well. It was giving me Costa Rica type vibes of the rainforest.

A great location with beautiful family friendly grounds and walking access to the bay, beaches and many more amenities. Rooms are aged but clean and well kept, definitely one of the best matresses I have slept on. The staff was also very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful property and friendly staff. The property has a very tropical feel to it. Two stars off because the rooms are quite dated and walls are somewhat thin. You can hear your neighbors quite clearly if you are listening. One night we had loud guests below us and could hear them talking clearly. You pay for the location, but again I wish the rooms were updated and more quiet. They were clean though!

The spa is nice. The workout facilities are very small. The rooms would be reasonable at a low end motel. I have started there many times did NDSS and never had a pleasant room.

Great place to stay that's close to the beach and has a nice bayside beach as well.

This is a decent hotel, a little pricey but gets the job done. The place is dated, but the location makes up for it. The staff is super friendly and very helpful; help comes quick when it's requested. It's backside is right on Mission Bay and it's a nice little spot if you want to escape the craziness of the beach. There are plenty of restaurants/grocery stores within walking distance. Overall, it's a nice place but I'd expect more from a 4 star resort. I might go back if it was available for a cheaper rate.

I was there for a business meeting in an office in the parking structure. But the hotel is really fabulous.

Neat place right in the heart of Pacific Beach. Rooms need a remodel.

Loved the experience, loved the location, loved the staff ( shout out to Lauren at the Front Desk - a friendly Batavia native ). They have a great spot on Mission Bay Beach, but it is an older property so check your room first.

Had a wonderful time @ the resort. The spa treatments were magnificent and food was very good. I highly recommend the Catamaran Resort for a couple's get away weekend.

Incredible place to stay - warm and inviting. The food at the restaurant is mouthwatering and they have an exquisite display of jellyfish that thrills all who dine there. The suit we stayed in, 500 building, opens right out to the bay's grass and sandy beach. They have boats, paddle boards, bikes and the like to rent. If you like a high rise to see the surrounding areas, they have it too. My favorite were both the koi fish rivers that are throughout the grounds and the beautifully kept Polynesian-style grounds with nighly-lit torches. They also have beautiful parrots who ask you, "What's your name?"

The bay breeze comes up and caresses your skin as you enjoy a snooze on the beach lounge chair covered by one of there umbrellas.

As an avid gym person, I had the opportunity to enjoy a good workout at there indoor/outdoor gym with a nice circuit of machines and free weights.

Parking in the surrounding area is at a premium; however, the Catamaran has you covered with both outdoor and a covered parking structure which.

We're looking forward to our next visit!

This place is very nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. We were there for Christmas Event and we had a blast. It's by the bay and blocks from the beach. It's definitely a great place to stay for both leisure and partying! Great for family's!

The rooms are very old poor and ugly, not a 4 star hotel, maybe one star.

Horrible internet. Bathrooms are cramped. Good staff, and somewhat kid friendly. However the pool isn t very kid friendly. It is too deep, no easy entrance and exit. Good live music.

They have a poor bell desk operating system with teens handling your luggage. I came to visit friends for a weekend from out of town and checked in my luggage with the bell desk. They lost one of my duffle bags and told me that I never checked in that bag. Claiming that they watched surveillance videos of me not having my bag upon arrival. I had the missing items reported, gave them all of my contact information, and a detailed description of my loss. The customer service I received was horrible and cheap. The front desk lacks in communication and could not follow through on a simple call back. The security manager not once ever used my first name when he spoke with me. After, I finally gave up because no one was there to help me my travel agent called after our trip was over to finalize our check out and that's when they notified her that they found my bag. That's right. They told her, not myself, that they found my bag in housekeeping because she called to complete our check out. They have yet to call and apologize to me for the major inconvenience they put me through. I do not recommended staying here unless you want to go shopping for new clothes to wear on your vacation because your hotel "lost" your luggage.

I sincerely expected a little bit more out of this place out of the pictures that attracted my attention to this location and make me decide to stay here. Staff did their job without going the extra mile. They do not clean and make the room daily, only when you leave and they prepare to receive the next guest. Is this a Hotel or a rented time share?

This place seems nice but has been pretty pathetic. The shower has virtually no water pressure, they ran out of beach towels completely by 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday, and as I write this my room service is currently an hour late. Not worth the money, go somewhere cheaper.

Great location, price-performance ratio ... In the evening you can see the fireworks from Sea World San Diego.

Attended a wedding reception at Catamaran. The space, food, and service were all excellent. The views from the balcony weren't bad either.

Mushroom omelet was great. Beautiful view of Mission Bay. The landscaping and back patio are cozy and relaxing. Prices not bad for what you get.

The Catamaran Resort is the best resort in San Diego!! As soon as we arrived, we immediately felt at peace and went full into vacation mode for our little staycation. The beautiful, postcard scene views from our tower room, the attentive staff, and the amazing food at Oceana make the Catamaran a very special place! Very much looking forward to returning here soon!!

Beautiful landscape and scenery with plenty of parking and a nice beach attached. Room size is generous. Nice staff. The bad.... Room was severely outdated and stale with small bugs. Bathroom was as big as a typical powder room. No outlets available in main area of room. Had to charge electronics in kitchen area and bathroom. Internet rarely worked.

Great location. Unfortunately, the hotel is not well maintained. The staff is only partially usable. Otherwise good.

Seems small but it has everything you need for a good workout, free weights, machines, treadmill, elliptical, rower, sauna, pool and hot tub. I am sure I left some things out but overall it is a great place.

The property is decent. For a property that charges what they do, customer service is greatly lacking. However, food is very good. Christian at the bar is awesome.

We visited friends at this hotel. The grass area with reserved beach chairs was perfect!

My wife and I sat in front of the fire and enjoyed the view of the bay. Excellent service.

The resort itself is quite dated in it's decor etc, but you can't beat the service and cleanliness of the resort! The staff are amazing - very helpful and courteous all the time! All the food that I had from the onsite restaurants was fabulous as well!

The location was great and the food was wonderful at the hotel. All of the people we met there were eager to please. The downside was the rooms that our group stayed in. With all the rain our ceiling leaked. The ceiling above the staircase leaked as well making it dangerous to walk down the stairs. They were all wet. We had no choice as we were on the second story with no elevator..I had to hire someone to Cary my luggage . My cousin's room you had a low step up to. Which we all tripped over. The rooms smelled and lighting was minimal. That being said you had the beach on one side of you and the ocean on the other. Location was fantastic. We rented a pontoon boat, yacht club was close by. Lots to do. We won't be going back just because of the rooms but if they eliminated the leaks, and updated the rooms..plus put in an elevator and made the stairs safe ,of course we would go back..

Nice hotel but outdated and things don't work in the room. Sliding door was nearly impossible to slide without a significant amount of force, and impossible to lock. Needed lubrication. The shower head was fixed too high and to the side. Shower went cold very quickly. The bathroom fan didn't work. The doors were difficult to deadbolt. The 200 building was also very difficult to access without leaving the resort and going around the parking lot, or walking through the parking garage (as I mentioned, sliding door on the pool side didn't actually work). Pain in the butt! Also it was confusing and took a day and a half to learn where the different buildings were, not to mention the confusion between which rooms were in the tower vs in the side buildings. Lastly, not enough outlets for charging phones in convenient locations.

Overall: beautiful venue but super outdated rooms that need to be refurbished and updated to be considered a modern, luxury resort.
