We have stayed here many times in the past 10 to 12 years. It's dated but we over look that, the carpet needs to be replaced. The tropical area and the ground floor patio's needs a little power washing a least ever now and then.
I ask about the Hibiscus suite, front desk said could only be rented to upper management or VIP's, I got curious and found this review :

Great Stay
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hibiscus Suite. This Suite was perfect! This was a 1 bedroom suite, 2 bath rooms, living area (no kitchen), and full private patio with a view of the water! We didnt want to leave the room. It was my birthday and they guaranteed us a late arrival with no problem and had a nice welcome gift on the table when we arrived. The service was friendly and attentive. This hotel is also in a great location, we had a blast and did not have to travel far from the resort to eat or have fun.
We do enjoy staying here, but sometimes we stay in La Jolla and other places, this happens to be close to our daughter ( our new grandson) and our son, its convenient and 3 1/2 stars, it could be a 5 with not much work. PS - Food is wonderful.
