We love it here. We've been coming for a couple years now and we plan to make it a yearly tradition. The property has been here a long time and the rooms are not state of the art, but the rooms are clean and comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, and the atmosphere is so pleasant. Food is good too. Great for a young family. Lots to do from the bay to the beach. We've rented paddle boards, FunCats, and sailboats. Definitely recommend.

Went to Catamaran for drinks at Moray's, the casual bar. Very hard to figure out where to park and how much it'll cost, if anything. There was no signage when we drove in. As a guests it's confusing, and there's no way to know where Moray's is, and more importantly, that they validate parking for 2 hours. We eventually figured all this out by asking multiple people who worked there. Moray's is great for Mai Tais. Definitely get one. The views of the bay are also great if you can get a table closer to the water. Food isn't half bad, but I wouldn't go there just for food. Cocktails are worth the trip though, especially at happy hour 3-6pm weekdays

Girls Getaway Time

Girls Getaway Time
Last week, 7 of us girls had their getaway vacation. We picked the Catamaran Resort and stayed in the tower overlooking the bay and ocean during the day and the city lights at night. We had a great time! First, we were greeted by a real gentleman, Steven who opened all our doors while getting out of our vehicle and parked our car. He was friendly and attentive. We knew just by this greeting that we had made the right choice and we were in for a treat. Then, we met Lauren who checked us in. She was kind, pleasant and efficient. She answered all our questions, gave us ideas of what to do in the resort and places around town to eat. (Great tip Lauren, the margaritas were a hit!) We took her advice and rented a carriage bike and a pontoon boat from the Catamaran. It was adventurous and lots of laughs when five women climbed unto the bike while four of us peddled our way along the along the beach. We also went swimming at the pool and later took a pontoon boat out around the bay to see the city sights from a boat. We were really treated when we saw the sea lions playing in the water. Great fun!! During our stay miscellaneous things kept popping up and when we stopped by at the front desk, Kerry took care of our needs. Bottom line, the staff treated us like royalty and the resort had a lot of things to offer. It's not easy to please seven women but you did. We now have great memories and a getaway place that we will return to in the future. Lil Fredericksen

The catamaran is an aging, but funky and fun place to stay. As long as you're not expecting brand new or renovated amenities, you'll be in good hands. The staff are nice, the place is clean enough, and the theme is kitch and fun

The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is beautiful. You can walk from your room right onto the beach. There is also a running/walking trail that stretches out for over 2 miles. It's very tranquil. They have a gym and spa. Me and my military buddies stayed here for a week to attend the Cyber Fire Training class and we enjoyed it. The food is worth the price. Sushi for lunch or dinner is great but the French Toast for breakfast was my favorite. Oh! My room was on the 10th floor. The view was awesome!

Great customer service. Justin and Mick are AMAZING and appreciate their kindness. Oceana restaurant team is INCREDIBLE. My Mom and I ordered breakfast and not only was the breakfast delicious, they took great care in the preparation of the food and the overall presentation of the meal. Will definitely be back; my Mom says the same :-)

Not all operational in the business vicinity.but you can always enjoy your stay by bathing at the beach, boat rides and restaurant. Hawaiian theme has been canc. Due to pandemic, and will resume next year. Other than than, rooms are cheaper for the moment, and still a great spot to relax.

Location, location, location. Right in the heart of the Gaslamp. Great vibe, good scene. Float, 207, Nobu. The best of the best. Stop by and say hello to Robbie in VIP. The best VIP Concierge in the business. These guys really know how to make you feel like Royalty. Rock Royalty that is!

People went into my room when we had the do not disturb sign hanging on the door. When I notified the front desk they had no answers and did nothing about it and I have yet to hear from the manager.

Wow! So my family and I have been going to the Catamaran every summer as our tradition, and I can't believe I never reviewed it before. Here's my list on why this hotel is so great and why my family and I love it.

1. Location! It's located right on the bay so you can get a view of the bay from one side of the tower and a view of the city/ocean on the other side of the tower. You can also see SeaWorld from the bay side of the tower. Aside from the view, it's immersed in local culture and a block from the beach, so no matter how long we stay here, we have never ever had to bring the car around. Absolutely everything is in walking distance.

2. Guest Services! Everyone has always been so cheery and helpful which is a benefit when traveling with a big family. From maintenance, to the front desk, to the wait staff at the Oceana. I even spent my birthday there once with my boyfriend and when I told the front desk, they bumped me up to the 13th floor at no extra charge, AND when it was my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary complimentary chocolate strawberries, champagne, and a sweet card were found in their room. Only time there ever was a complication was in the little souvenir shop when my mom's gift card wasn't registering. So we ended up getting help from the manager of the spa, even though it wasn't even her area of management, she knew there was an issue so she made it her issue to fix.

3. Quality! The rooms are always so beautiful and comfortable and everything is new and renovated. You can either stay in the tower or in the little motel type rooms that surround it and honestly either one is ideal. No room has a bad view in my opinion. The whole campus is so lush and green and there's a lot of ducks and turtles and fish to look at while you're walking around. My grandma calls it Hawaii in California haha.

4. Activities! If you wanted to stay in your hotel your whole trip, it would be fine here. They have a whole list of daily activities and shows and performances and crafts that they have available to you, and each person gets a complimentary ride on the Bahia Belle in the bay. You can also rent paddle boards and bikes and a bunch of cool stuff like that. Free macaw shows in the afternoon as well, and live performances every day in the pool area (the drinks are expensive, but that's about it)

In conclusion I have nothing but great memories and thoughts about this place. So many core memories for my family and I have sprouted here and I thank everyone there for making them happen. Can't wait to come back!

They have an awesome facility, but I go there to take my out of town friends to see the Parates. They have shows on certain days and the staff is kind enough to show you all the trick and words that these incredible birds have learned. You will love when they are asked to do showbird. Cute fun and kid friendly.

I went to lunch with my bookclub at the restaurant there and it was lovely. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for a resort. The staff were helpful and friendly. The view was great too. We had our choice of an indoor table with air conditioning or an outside table. It was nice to have both options.

One of the most incredible places that we have been to. Close to restaurants and grocery stores. The beach is but a block away. Amazing views. Staff is also amazing. Fresh towels and Linens everyday. They even washed our dishes. Will definitely come back here again.

Wonderful location directly on the harbor side beach, just one block from the ocean beach. Lots of extra amenities (pool, spa, beach chairs, free evening/ night cruises on the harbor on the Bahia Bell, daily bird show, children's activities). Rooms feature full kitchens and fridge which is a big bonus, and rooms can sleep up to 6 with foldout couches. The downside is that this place probably had its grandeur in the 80s. At this point, it is a little run down. It's not to the point that it is offputting, but a renovation in the next few years couldn't hurt. If they do that, this place will probably be out of my price range because considering the location and amenities, the out-datedness is probably the only thing keeping the price so reasonable!! Due to the value, I'm rounding up to 4 stars instead of 3. Would recommend for families and groups who are ok without the most modern 5 star accommodations. Nice fit for my bachelorette party!

Location is great, as are the views. However, the room was in need of work. The bathroom was kind of dingy and there were stains. I would still probably stay here again just for the great location with a bar and restaurant that overlook the bay.

I live on the bay very close to this hotel, and I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants the full San Diego experience. It's one of the most beautiful hotels and locations you might ever see, and I have traveled the world. I sincerely mean these words, and hope you enjoy this community and hotel as much as I am able to everyday.

Taken here for my birthday by my daughter. Before we went to the spa, we enjoyed some appetizers, Greek pita and feta cheeses, along with light refreshments. Relaxing, clean saunas, showers and the relaxing room is self-serve treat with lemon water, specialty teas, and plenty of relaxing lounges. But the best part is the massages. I had the all over body oil ( forgot which oil), caused I was so well treated. Got the cucumber eye treatment and the full shower rinse, exhilarating. The best spa experience I've received in years. Thank you ladies.

Our two-night stay at Catamaran Resort Hotel was very nice. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff was nice and accommodating. We arrived earlier than our check-in time but were allowed to use the pool while we waited for our room. Pacific Beach is just across the street, and several good restaurants are within walking distance. The Pacific Beach crowd can be a bit boisterous, so be prepared for busy streets and lots of formerly-sober pedestrians. Surprisingly, our nights were calm and quiet, especially after 10pm. I'd stay here again.

Don't count on any help or consideration! We had six $550+ tax per night bay front rooms reserved for a special occasion. The party started at 3:00 and check-in is at 4:00. I asked for early (2:00) check-in for only 2 rooms so we could get ready and head to our party. The answer was NO. Reservations could only suggest that we book the rooms for the night before if we needed to have early access to the rooms!! I am VERY disappointed with this hotel.
We made other arrangements, waterfront, very accommodating....the day was saved, no thanks to the Catamaran.

Beautiful property, great spa amenities and bay front location. I went to the catamaran for a spa day and drinks at the pool... Perfect day getaway. Only downside is the food service at the pool takes forever and the wait staff was not knowledgeable of the menu at all

The hotel is quite old overall but clean. The view from the 10th floor is cool. The rooms are big. Breakfast is available in the ocean. The location is fantastic but the food was more than mediocre. The eggs were cold and a little loveless. Better breakfast in the city because there are nice places. Parking is possible in the parking garage. The lobby with the waterfall is nice, but it brings a humid and unpleasant climate. Overall, a good hotel.
