Secluded oasis in a great area of Mission Bay. Easy walking distance to Pacific beach if you get tired of the bay. Interiors of the bayside rooms feel very outdated. That is the only reason for 4 stars. Everything else at this resort is top shelf!

Really enjoyed our stay, rooms were nice size, clean, and comfortable with nice balcony and amenities. Resort had lots of activities to keep everyone entertained. Food at restaurants was good, prices were reasonable, but selection was limited. We ate breakfast every day at the Oceana Coastal Kitchen, which had a beautiful view. Friday night Luaus was festive.

We did not enjoy our stay here. The bathroom had mold growing around the caulking for the window. The bathtub floor was gritty and hurt when you sat down so forget taking a bath. The rooms smelled like cigarette smoke even though they were supposed to be non-smoking. Reservations are crazy expensive AND you have to pay for parking. Then on top of that, their spa services are ridiculously priced. Over 100 dollars for a simple mani/pedi but yet you can wall down the street and find multiple well rated salons where you can get the same service for less than half that. The grounds were dirty. Trash everywhere. The pool was dirty. It's super crowded. The staff was rude. They acted like it was an inconvenience to assist you. Overall terrible stay, will NOT be going back if I can help it.

Although the decor is a little dated, this hotel resort is in prime location in San Diego Mission Bay, walking distance to the beach and many eateries. We had a lovely view of the bay from our room balcony.

Took my wife for a spa day and our experience was not the best. The receptionist was not friendly when we arrived. She didnt even ask our name for check in. The massage wasn't that great either. The experience really dampened our anniversary.

An older place that's being renovated - but no elevators in many of the buildings. For that reason we old fogies had a suite on the ground floor of our building. Rooms were clean and pleasant. Landscaping is beautiful. Views of Mission Bay are spectacular. Unfortunately the neighborhood is a little sketchy - lots of "student bars" with noisy patrons, though they're not audible from the Catamaran.

Stayed here for a Journalism conference and the amenities were wonderful! Went swimming, enjoyed the conference rooms, the food and the rooms held the most gorgeous view. Would love to go again and stay for a vacation. Also the local food and shops were all phenominal. Never had to leave the block the hotel was on!

Loved it. Reminded me of a Hawaiian luau for real. The food was delicious very authentic, mai tai on point, service was great and the entertainment was just as I remembered from the polynesian center in Hawaii.

I visited this hotel as an overnight visitor. It is located at a great spot, very close to pacific beach, on mission bay. Rooms are a bit old but well maintained. Staff is very proactive, professional and helpful. The hotel had awesome hangout options.

I want to give a shout-out to Destiny and Lauren at the front desk. They went above and beyond in helping my wife and I. With all of the plants they have it really makes you feel like you're some where topical. The breakfast on the boardwalk was outstanding. I had the pancakes and the eggs benedict. Also, for lunch I had the BLT, I would recommend everything!

It's a beautiful hotel, with ducks and ponds and parrots. It feels very tropical and lush. The restaurant was good. There is a nice bayfront beach. However, my room, which was in the tower building, smelled very musty. It kind of ruined the experience to come back to that. If I could be assured of a better smelling room I would go back, but without that I wouldn't.

Hotel is in a nice location, and self parking will set you back $26.00 a night. The back of the hotel opens to the beach where there's bike and other water transportation rental. Staff here are friendly and helpful.

Problem with this hotel is it's needs serious maintenance up keeping especially in the rooms; the general areas are well kept. The water was lukewarm at best. Every early morning around 6:00AM until 8:00AM, the water pipes were rattling for so loud you can feel the walls vibrating. The first day when we told the staff, they didn't know what we were talking about. The second day we recorded the sound and played it back for them (they did comp us a night). The bed are simply worn out; parts of it was sunk in so I found myself trying to sleep around the potholes. The bed sheets were not in the best conditions and the pillows reached it's end of life.. The pools were nice, but wish they do more to keep the ducks from pooping in the pool. They have an open arcade but some of the machines weren't working.

They do have a great onsite restaurant. Expect to pay about $16.00 for a flat bread.

It's unfortunate because this could've easily been a five star hotel. Hope they're scheduled for a major renovation soon as I would love to stay here again.

Let me start off my saying that the staff and the resort (jungle vibe) with the wildlife was very nice and enjoyable. With that being said, our room was just horrible. Our stay was from 6/14-6/20 and was put into room 450 of the tower with a "garden" view. It was not a garden view, more like a view of the parking garage. This trip was for my birthday to celebrate in a different state on the bay/beach, but it wasn't a premium experience for the the price we paid.
The windows and walls were paper thin so we could constantly hear people talking or rolling their luggage at all hours of the night. The sliding door to the balcony was always getting stuck and my girlfriend couldn't even open it herself, but once I did get it open it sounded and felt like an earthquake in our room. The last night we was there the door actually can off the track and we had no choice but to sleep with the door open and hear all the people running around outside even more. The t.v. was at a weird angle too and you had to burn and be able to watch it , but that was okay because we didn't watch much t.v. on our trip luckily.
Over all I was bummed out over the experience, I recommend someone in the area to stop by and walk through and check it out but would not recommend staying there. The only reason we stayed is because we had already prepaid and it was right near both bodies of water. But there are plenty of other places near by for cheaper.

A nice resort by the beach. Even though the hotel is older (you can tell by the furnishings), it is very clean and does not smell like old at all. The grounds are nice as well, with lush vegetation, a few live parrots, and Koi fish.

The resort is in a great location, they offered plenty of activities for both adults and kids. It's a little piece of Hawaii in San Diego, we will definitely return!. Highly recommend this place!

This resort is amazing. I had a wonderful stay. It is located right in between the bay and the ocean. Near lots of restaurants and things to do. It is a little confusing getting in and out of the property at first but you get the hang of it.

I would recommend adding more signs with night lighting and directions in and out of the resort towards mission or towards the beach. Currently your staff has to escort each individual out every time they ask which is still very nice of them.

I will be coming back here for sure next time I visit. For breakfast, I recommend the carne asada steak burrito from Woody's near by.

Staff is incredibly friendly and the grounds are beautiful! However, the website photos make the "resort" appear newer than it really is. The rooms are outdated. The pool bar/snack bar was not open at all during the entire week we were there. There are conferences or events every day so it is constantly busy and loud.

Top self rooms, service and food. A must stay. If you like the tropics i.e palms, flowers and wild life this is the place for you. Beach and bay just a few steps away . Toy rentals from bikes to pontoon boat, speed boat, surf boards , boogie boards. Night life aplenty. Kid friendly . Pool, arcade . BBQ at the pool lots of other amenities. All well managed . I spent five days there and never got board.

Food, staff, and views are all top notch. I even met a friendly duck who hung out on my balcony. I think the rooms could stand for some updating, as everything looks dated. Still a good resort.

I came to the Catamaran for a blogger convention and it was a great experience. The staff was wonderful. The conference rooms were great and had lovely views of the water. Parking was a breeze. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking to have a special event.

Nice place to stay on the bay. There is a coffee shop inside and the restraunt on site is delicious. The grounds have you almost feeling as though you are in Hawaii or in another tropical location. There is even a Koi pond in the lobby its beautiful at night.

Fantastic location and pretty grounds but the room (956) was absolutely horrible. Bathroom door won't shut, toilet won't flush, sliding door to patio won't open. And then there's the kitchenette.....the 4 burner stove is probably from 1975 and the 1 burner that works doesn't even heat all the way. The hotel provided zero plates, glasses, silverware, dish towels or cooking utensils. The full size fridge and comfortable beds were the only redeeming qualities of the room. It's in desperate need of an update and for those reasons I cannot stay here again or recommend it to anyone else.

The hotel is located in Tsuen Wan, the industry of the late Hong Kong Fu Po, the surrounding facilities are quite comprehensive, not the same as expected, the lobby is generally free, upgrade to the high sea view of the building, the room area is larger in Hong Kong, sea view Very good, the room maintenance is too bad, the decoration details are also a mess, the cleanliness is good, the hotel team stays a lot, the crowds, the service is worse, the business may be too good,

(Restaurant visit)Food was good at the restaurant, but for a fancy place such as this , it seems kind of dirty. Window sills dirty. Glass doors and panes smeared. Scooters left on the sidewalks; obstructing the paths to guest's rooms. Hotel looks dated from the outside. And when I was coming back from the beach boardwalk, I could see thick ridges of dirt on the sides of the hotel and near the top. Bunch of annoying, ugly OBESE people blocking the waterfall, taking pictures where people have to walk past and get to the restrooms, restaurant, gift shop, etc.
