I've been to Vegas three times and I have stayed at South Point Casino everytime. I've enjoyed been able to go too different places without been in the hustle of the crowd... My home away from home...
I am reviewing only the ballroom. Incredible sound system. Easy in and out.
The South Point is my favorite casino, always clean and plenty of machine's and all time favorite is their BINGO.
I love everything about the place. From restaurants to restrooms, service employees to Security. Cowboy hats to berets and all kinds of boots. It's a beautiful sight for all ! We ate at Oyster Bar-bowl of Clam Chowder and Ceasar's Salad, couple of biscuits. What more could you ask for right? jf. The soup is delicous, always !
Machines were very tight. Servers at the Casino were slow on getting around for drinks and if you wanted to make it a double to make up for the time you couldn't. Nice bowling area and a good price after 12 am. 1 dollar a game.
Surprisingly a great place to bring family. There a movie theater with all the latest movies. Bowling and restaurants including a reasonably priced buffet. Night time entertainment for adults several bars and casino. You can definitely find something to do.
This is always our go to place to gamble. We like the staff and the variety of games to play at a non strip price. I recommend South Point highly.
More relax atmosphere and good place to enjoy your vacation.
I'm a local and love this casino! There is so much to do. The casino is clean and doesn't smell! I enjoy going to the horse shows.
Always love this place. Very nice staff. The rooms are so nice. Great selection of restaurants too.
Great Hotel. Like a Mini City. Its got Gambling, Restaurants, Bowling, Movie Theaters, Horse Shows and/or Rodeo's (when in town). There's something for all ages
Great location right off the I-15. Lots of great amenities for families including movie theater, arcade, and bowling
Great place for watching any and all sports, with several bars and 11 different restaurants. Great arena set-up for watching Women's Basketball, the main reason I was there. Four games, each of two days. A great experience.
$4.95 steak and eggs between 12am and 6am was nice. I wish there was a non-smoking section
Was a great place to stay for cheap. Lots to do there and a shuttle downtown which was great.
We were sent here when our flight was cancelled. Got there at 920pm and exhausted. Glad we got to visit this place. Great rooms, nice staff, buffet was well maintained and the food was good. We took our slippers home and still wear them! It was a great memory of our trip. Would love to visit there again when we can spend more than just a night.
When you need a little more peace and quiet from the bright lights of down town, head out here. Wonderfully equipped Resort with just about anything you need for your stay.
Spacious. Uncrowded during the day. Good atmosphere.
Tons of tables....abundant machines...exciting atmospere
Huge locals casino, good players club and rewards program. Lots of dining choices for every budget. Movie theater, Kids game room, rooms are nice and pool is on par.
Only downside secluded from Strip, easy enough access to get to the strip but it's a poke from Strip action
If you are looking for a unique resort hotel casino property off the beaten path, this is your place. A monument to western tradition, the Southpoint is the only facility in Las Vegas entirely dedicated to equestrian events. The property hosts many equestrian events and has quite large indoor facilities to accommodate sizeable events. More, the property has a huge footprint to accommodate stabling. Great facility!
Reminds me of Laughlin, lots of old people and tweakers. If you're that close to Vegas than just go to Vegas for God's sake!
Clean beautiful always smellss so good and won a little . Great place
The room was way too gold for my taste. The pillows were dirty, hair in the bathroom, and uncleaned bathroom floor. But other than that it was okay.
I love horse shoes at this place. Small touches like the new dog potty spots and the any hose disinfectantor nice. Small things like the cheap travel hair dryers and soap dishes in the rooms make it kind of crappy
It was a poor entertainment experience. I will not be back.
5/5....Overall we had an excellent experience while we were there. I would definitely recommend staying here and will be staying here again when go back in 2021 for the national bowling tournament. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
***DETAILED REVIEW BELOW***
Let me just start by saying, Southpoint was an awesome experience. You definitely get the 5 star resort feel while you are staying there! We had a premium smoking king room and the room itself is huge. Tons of space for luggage and places to sit. We had a view of the pool and the mountains in the background which was nice to look at it. Very nice sized bathroom with private toilet and shower which was really nice. Only downfall of the room for my wife and myself was the bed was a little to firm for our liking. The hardwood floors add a nice touch to the room and definitely make it feel updated as well as the high ceilings make the space feel huge. Very clean and cozy
The pool is awesome as well as the hot tub. Great to wake up early in the morning when it's still a little chilly out and jump in the hot tub. Great way to start the day. Drinks at bar at pool were well made. Could have been a little stronger but that's my opinion. You can always just go in and Gamble and drink for free :)
A great assortment of restaurants to pick from. They have a little bit of everything in there which is nice. Prices are reasonable as well for the food and you always have the buffet as an option if you dont want any of the specialty restaurants. Food was tasty. We did the Asian restaurant, the Italian restaurants, the cafe and the buffetw while we were there and not a single complaint from any of them. They also have a little coffee shop in there as well.
Then have a little gift shop/convenience store right in the center of the hotel which is great because they have snacks and booze and cigarettes. In theory you really don't ever have to leave when you are there because you have access to everything you nees.
Great selection of activities to do while you are there. From 2 large bowling alleys. An video game arcade, an equestrian center, the pool, an on site spa and barber. Like I said you would never have to leave.
Tons of slot machines and table games to play while you are there. We did a moderate amount of gambling while we were there and the only thing I noticed was the lack of servers walking around getting drinks and when you did get one, it took a little bit longer than some other hotels and casinos to return with your drinks. Gambling was fun and hit for a few big wins at a couple of the slot machines. All the table dealers were friendly and helpful to people who were not familiar with the games.
This place is huge so be prepared to do a ton of walking while you are there but that's Vegas, eveything is so close but so far lol.
Every restaurant is top notch! Love the Seafood Bar, so fresh; so good.
Michaels is a Dining Experience beyond compare, extremely delicious and so classy! The casino is fun and comfortable. Never enough time; so much to do!
Very nice hotel with plenty of activities on the property. The pool looked nice, but we didn't make it down. We did eat at the sushi restaurant, it was pretty good and we bowled. The book they have us at check-in has a BOGO coupon so we bowled 6 games for the price of 3. It's a little far from our usual spot in Vegas, but for the price it was worth a few extra minutes on the commute. Please put refrigerators in the rooms!
Would definitely stay here. Very BIG place. Great location. On las vegas blvd less than 10 minute drive from the MGM Hotel Casino.
M TOWN show at the showy on every Tuesday has a great musicians and stage.
Fabulous place great peeps work there..best Mexican Restaurant n Margaritas
If you've made the pilgrimage to a casino then it's all good. At least it starts out that way. Right? It not like your trekking to a coal mine. And the South Point is great in so many ways but there's one glaring misstep on its resume. It doesn't have a bubble Craps machine. There, I said it. A wart on the hero Prince. Other wise...
1st time staying here a week ago and its definitely the spot you want to be at. Your not on the strip but it doesnt matter when they have everything at this Hotel! Definitely good for Families with kids.
Pretty good. I think the wins should pay a little better than they do but at least you can win a little
Great place for bowling as well as equestrian events.
I like this place! Not on the strip but it has everything you need. I mean, you could probably live here for a year and never need to go outside! I will say, as we ve been coming here for years for a trade show, that I don t think I ve ever had a three night stay at the south point that I have not had to switch rooms for one reason or another. The latest being that I reserved a non-smoking room months in advance and when we checked it, it was all that was available. They did get me switched to another room the next night, but still not a great experience. Bonus photo of Rob Snyder
Great place for locals and tourists alike. Also great selection of restaurants!
The hotel is unassuming but charming and offers a great experience for such an off strip resort.
Really nice hotel with wonderful customer service. Comfortable beds, clean rooms.
Rooms and staff were very accommodating. Everyone was friendly and happy, we had a wonderful gaming experience as well. We stayed two nights in spacious and inviting rooms. Made the bowling nationals open tournament an even more pleasant experience
Nice place. Good casino. Reasonably priced food. Movie theater, bowling alley, awesome equestrian center. I highly recommend it, and it's a short drive to the resort corridor.
This place is amazing! It was so fun to go to. I really liked that there was a barber shop in the hotel and the pool was beautiful! I really liked the rooms they were very pretty and the beds were really comfortable:)
Very smokey. My "non smoking" room filled with smoke from the ventillation system every time someone in the next room over lit up. Very unpleasant. Will never return.
I like the southpoint. My annual Glass Expo is here. They also have a bowling alley, 12 movie theater, great restaurants and the best horse stables and Arena all in one place.
Great place for food and shows..
casino part.. mixed.. a few people i know like it...others like me not for the gambling part.. glitches in there slots.. tables ok tho
otherwise a very friendly ,clean and good location just off the strip..
Great Sunday prime rib buffet. $15.95 with a player's card. Only one card was needed to get discounts for our group. Attentive drink attendants. Dessert includes full slices of pie and cake. Peel shrimp, cook to order asain wok, Italian, sushi and of course the prime rib.
Love the hotel and variety of restaurants. The entertainment last night in the showroom was awesome. The slots are extremely tight.
It's a clean nice hotel... the staff is very nice as well.... I will rent again at Southpoint
We love to go here because it's the most family friendly place. The food is good, the different amenities are great. Definitely a family favourite.
It was a perfect stop on the way to my final destination. Loved the service and atmosphere. Great dining options and terrific amenities. Would stay again.
BUFFET EXCELLENT. CASINO SLOTS NOT SO MUCH. PLAYED WITH CARD. SAID I HAD $35.58 BUT WOULDN'T CASH OUT. FIRST TIME I HAVE BEEN CHEATED BY A CASINO IN MY 53 YEARS HERE. AND FOR SUCH A PUNY AMOUNT. BEWARE
This is one of my favorite casinos in town which is saying something. You're still close to the strip but it's amazing how getting off the strip just a little keeps prices down. They are also very friendly and have many great places to eat at this casino.
Good place to stay, good eating establishments, lots of amenities on site.
I should of been came here. See it all the time, but this was my first time stopping. Nice place. It's huge. Movie theater with great late night specials, bowling alley is big and clean. Sports betting is superb. This place is real mature.
South Point is awesome. Great atmosphere, great aesthetic.
Freindly service. Nice Poker area good tournament selection and guarantees, the only drawbacks are slow dealers and all the tables are 10 handed. The cash game selection is decent they usually only run 1/2. Sports betting area is comfortable lots of TVs and seats with a few restaurants nearby. The movie theater inside towards the back is small but enjoyable especially for smaller movies. Overall southpoint has a comfortable almost family type atmosphere.
Always a nice experience here but not really free play offers
What a great place, especially for locals! There's so much to do here. Enjoy a great burger at Steak & Shake then catch a movie or bowl a few rounds with friends. They even have equestrian events or motocross. Very clean.
Normally wouldn t stay this far off the strip, I was attending a convention that was being held at this location so it was very convenient to stay there. I purchased the upgraded room and it was fantastic. More hotels need to do hardwood floors!
First let me say that my friend and I did not go this time for gambling or gaming so this rating does not pertain to that aspect nor the hotel aspect of this location. We specifically visited the South Point to have Mexican Cuisine and the restaurant was closed for remodeling and then our second choice was closed on Mondays.? We ended up leaving to find a suitable restaurant off-site.
This place was AMAZING !! The casino had a movie theater, bowling alley, and the rooms were soo astonishing!!
Decent for an off strip casino. We stopped in on our way out of Vegas to eat at the buffet. The food was good and there was a decent detection of food, but it all felt lacking after spending 3 nights in a big name casino/hotel. Great if you're looking for somewhere off the strip.
Movie theater, popcorn is always good, casino is nice, waitress service is on point!
I was lucky to get a gift certificate from a loved on to the Spa at South Point and what a great day of pampering, very impressed with it, the casino was fun too!
Clean rooms, easy to find parking. Only suggestion would be to find a way to shorten the walk to the tournament bowling lanes from the rooms and parking area.
I won a nice amount of money always a plus in my book
The cafe is a great place to eat. A good variety in choices & great prices. Everyone has a wonderful attitude & while we sat to eat, at least 4 employees asked if everything was ok & if we needed anything. Such a cheerful place to eat. Thank you!
Years ago
Great place and good Chinese food 3
Went to a show here. It was nice, clean, and well managed. The show was awesome. But I feel like since they sell individual seats, that they cram to many at each table. We lucked out because the fourth seat was unoccupied but it would have been awkward if it had. Speaking of awkward can they give the poor cocktail waitress a skirt or some sort of bottoms.
It s always a little too smoky for me in the casino, but the event space is great! This is from ToyFest!
Love this place! Think the setup is great! Food prices not bad at all! A little out of the way so it's not as crazy busy as all the other big places. Really enjoyed our stay. :)
During the past 2 days my family and I have spent well over $700 in the amenities South Point has to offer (food, drinks and spa), just to be harassed (this evening) by one of your floor Suits for using multiple machines at once. This is sad, as you left a very bad taste in our mouths.
