This Resort was awesome. Had a fantastic room with many pools to use through the resort. All the people were nice. We had Carlos as a server twice at JD Lounge and he was great, we loved him. Will definitely come back.
Great food, way to loud . The service was spot on. Definitely recommend
Great architecture and lots of high end stores to shop at. Great place to walk around and enjoy the afternoon as it is mostly indoors.
Considering the price, atmosphere, service everything was excellent abs exceptionally well kept. Rooms a little dated but did not detract from the other positives.
Very nice grounds, well maintained, polite staff. Plush rooms.
Great location, good bar and restaurants...don't be near the tennis courts
Came with the family and everyone loved it. Lovely (huge) grounds and very friendly and attentive staff. Could use a little more quality (and make-your-own waffles!) in the breakfast buffet area, but not worth taking a star off. Everything else is very well done and we will certainly return next year.
Our family had a recent one night stay here while visiting friends in the area over Thanksgiving weekend. The outside temps were cold but the pools were large, super warm, and open 24 hours. They were a kids dream come true. The room was nice and very clean.
The only downside (consistent with other reviews) was the terrible food. We only only ate breakfast, and how hard can breakfast be? It was pretty bad; small portions, expensive, and the kids scrambled eggs were inedible. I would recommend you plan to eat offsite if you stay here. Luckily there s lots of good food and shopping close by.
Checked in in middle of night and it took 30 min to get room keys because computer was doing an audit. Unacceptable! No back up plan to code room keys!? Horrible!
This place is amazing. Good food (some gluten free options) and a very fun atmosphere! We will come again!
They call this a resort but it is not a nice place to be called resort. Three stars.
Very nice, well kept resort. Attended a work conference here. Thought it looked like a nice place to stay and get away from the crowd.
My wife and o stayed here for our anniversary. We were upgraded to a suite. Service was friendly and speedy
The King Suite is an excellent Value for your money. Very Clean quiet and lots of new updates. (T.V.'s Beds and Shower) Service was very friendly and plenty of parking right at your door. Pools are located close to all rooms. And Very clean as well. Will return and recommend to friends and family.
This place is horrible! Complete bait and switch. Booked for a conference, chose a room, and paid. Only picked this outdated "resort" because of the room. But at check-in we're told that our reservation wasn't being honored. That even though we booked through their website that our reservation was ignored or switched or lost because it was with a conference group code. So instead of the bi-level two queen room we were stuck with a single level king! So now we're waiting to see if any of the 90 other people, who are apparently "VIPs", they are waiting to check-in to show up. Oh and that's another thing, they don't give a damn about you after you get there and have no other option. Avoid this place at all cost!
Wonderful Resort with incredible views and amenities. Close to all the right shops food places.
Beautiful desert landscape! Great large community hot tub and pools
Had 2020 VFW (shortened) Dept of AZ Convention here and the staff were very accommodating.
Got a good rate through Expedia and very much liked the resort. Very close to a couple of my favorite shops. Would stay here again if the price was right.
This is a great place. Wide spaces, beautiful rooms, and helpful staff. We got to try out an extra large up-and-downstairs room, which was totally worth going. I think that my husband and I will go for a stay cation there again next year! (Everyone practiced social distancing and masking).
Great room, convenient to the Phoenix area. Lots of pools.
There are many places to go within walking distance. There is a shuttle to go to some other hot spots nearby (like old Scottsdale).
The resort itself was lovely. There are several amenities that are very well kept.
Large suite. Sometimes could hear neighbors speaking in normal conversational tones.
Nice folks, clean enviroment, good entertainment, and good food
Very nice hotel! Calm and quiet. Qualified staff. Nice views of the territory: cacti, orange trees, olive ... In the mornings and evenings rabbits run between the houses :)
Beautiful place to stay. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Bar needs a new menu.
The location is ideal- next to shops and restaurants. The rooms are a bit outdated, but okay. The grounds, however, are outstanding. Beautiful and well maintained gardens.
The room was very spacious and allowed us to have a fun social event without being too crowded. Rooms were clean and tidy
5 beatiful pools, fitness center, a full service salon including massage. Extremely accommodating staff. 2 ki 2u>
tourist, spent one night -- okay. There are a lot of better options locally
Went here for pleasure with my Partner. Will definitely go again. Place was AMAZING!
Nice place with professional staff. Great for hosting events.
Shout out to Rickey at the front desk! He provides a "Smile" when he is on the phone & great service! Thanks Rickey
We loved the location - not smack dab in the city but close to great restaurants and places to go and things to do. Checking in was quick and easy; we loved the different sections, each with a shared pool. We absolutely loved the "private" pool for the 10-15 villas in our area - if we were not the only ones there then there was only a few others. We liked that the resort employees would drive us around the resort in golf carts and offered (if not busy!) to drive us to and from the resort within a 5 mile radius (wow!)! The one bedroom that we stayed in was clean and nice. It seemed a little dark, even with it being the summer! We constantly had lights on. Though, this probably caused the place to be nice and cool, especially during the hot summer days we visited We also could hear our neighbors talking (we shared a wall), which was the main con that we saw with the place.
Fantastic staycation weekend! Good food and great service. Janis, pool bartender was friendly and attentive. Will go again.
Super place for a family, lots of space, quiet, private and beautiful. Only thing to complain about is no microwave to heat up left overs or make a late night popcorn.
This should not be considered a 4 star hotel. It should be described as a 2-3 star motel. The rooms are VERY dated, and dirty. On the other hand, the pool is nice and it is in a great location. Also, be prepared to pay a "resort fee". If you are looking for a mediocre room in a good location in Scottsdale, I would recommend the Day Hotel near Fashion Square.
Wow. My adult daughter and I just spent 4 days here for our 1st Annual Mommy & Me weekend and it was just what the doctor ordered. Although we were in beautiful Scottsdale, we only left the grounds twice. Between the pools, the exercise room, the pool bar, the spa and JD's Restaurant Bar - we had no desire to leave! The restaurant staff was fun and we were treated to an excellent show by Painted Soul on Saturday night. And those fire tables! Don't get me started! We also treated ourself to the Girlfriend Getaway package at the Spa - totally worth it. I recommend David and the Swedish Massege with Cooling Mint Scalp Treatment. I wanna go back!
Great potential, with great staff - the $5M renovation will make this place a great hotel and resort.
Room was clean and spacious. Having an extra bathroom was very nice. Beds were all very comfortable
The food was big portions most part it was good but the money handling was really bad.
nice villa like hotel. the place is so big that one needs a long 5 min walk from frontdesk to the most inner building. breakfast quality needs improvement.
Great place, nice rooms. Quiet and peaceful - relaxing place to unwind for a couple nights.
Super comfy beds in spacious 2 story room. No microwave/kitchenette and the noise from neighbors was considerable - we could practically hear entire conversations.
My wife and I went for a weekend trip, had a wonderful time. With temperatures over 110 the pool was a fantastic place to hang out. The room was wonderful. The property and grounds are very nice, I loved the placards by all the plants describing what they are. The restaurants were fantastic, the service and food both excellent. We would most certainly return.
Very nice resort we got a great deal on the vice president suite and very luxurious (private pool, a Sona, and a hot tub) I did not ever go to the main area, but based on what I saw it was very nice!
I don't even know where to begin. You hear the title and think - wow, this is going to be awesome. You get to the hotel and the customer service was great, the grounds beautiful and the pool really beautiful. All good things - especially the customer service (which was the best part of this hotel). HOWEVER, the rooms themselves were a joke. Unbelievably dated, mismatched decor, fake plastic "marble" tub surround, you name it - it was simply laughable. Again, great customer service - good location - good grounds - but they need to invest in the rooms themselves. I would never pay that price again for a room that looked like that, regardless of the other pro's.
Rooms are Nice and Clean, overall a nice Resort. They DO NOT offer a complimentary breakfast, and they Charge $5.00 for the VOSS water that's provided in the room
was there great place all the staff is nice and smile all the time the resorption help us in everything we ask and needed taxi food
shopping every thing!! this is why in October we booked again to this hotel!
Great place to stay. Many amenities and close to everything. Rooms are big and prices are reasonable. Five pools. Two eateries. One lounge/bar. Summer pricing extremely reasonable.
Multiple clean pools and jacuzzis. On site dining including patio/pool service. Spa facility on property. Friendly and professional staff. Free shuttle. Close to restaurants and Casino. Room clean and up to date.
This is one of the more pricey resorts that I've been to.However,it's worth it and you will have a very relaxing vacation here.
Great property. Very large, great location and friendly staff.
Nice, clean large rooms. Comfortable beds. Registration was very helpful with our needs.
Food and drinks were great I had some chicken strips and a few beers!
I am beyond impressed with the staff of this hotel. My son recently left his jacket in the lobby and didn't realize it till the next day. I called and they connected me to lost and found. They didn't have it. So they connected me to the bell desk just in case it was left in the shuttle. The man at the bell desk was amazing! I wish i had gotten good name. (Maybe Kevin) He checked all the vans and called me back. Again, it wasn't there. I told him that my son was pretty sure he left it on a couch in the lobby. He said let me go check and call you back. So he searched the hotel and found it! They are now shipping it back to us. They went above and beyond and my son and I are beyond grateful. Thank you!
Great resort! Food was good. Rooms were comfortable. Too hot so didnt use 5 pools.
Good place. Resort. Nice dry heat. Great pools and layout area, good food, good, even personable, service. They'll even get staff to take you back and forth to your room or elsewhere in a golf cart. Cant beat that!
Beautiful. Classy. Great food. JD's jumps most nights. Outdoor pool social area great for the 20 something folk.
The most courteous staff wonderful pools and great food.
The place os nice rooms are good but the service is not as expected
Do stay here. Great people visiting the Scottsdale Arizona area.
Spouse enjoyed a facial & a massage which she raved about all the way home.
Choose wisely
Choose Scottsdale Plaza Resort.
The suite was amazing! Super friendly staff, clean and beautiful grounds, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a completely different world.
Had a wonderful time at this resort. The accommodations were 1st Class! All associates are kind and courteous! We ate a few meals at the main restaurant and enjoyed that, too. I understand their Easter Brunch is superb! Sorry I'll miss it...all good things must come to an end...I'm back home in San Diego!
I'm not usually someone who writes reviews but I feel especially compelled during this COVID situation to share my experience so others are aware.
I did not feel as if the resort took the COVID situation serious enough. I wasn't expecting more than a strong effort to encourage guests to wear masks or practice social distancing in public places. Generally, employees did not wear masks, social distancing was only encouraged at check-in and we were unable to enjoy the main pool because it was so packed. I was hoping to see more corporate responsibility coming out of a global pandemic and a more concerted effort to make guests feel comfortable.
Outside of what I feel was a lack of effort to encourage positive behaviors, the room was clean, staff was friendly and the amenities were just okay. Like, I said the main pool was crowded but the other pools were less busy and we were able to safely enjoy those but it was a pretty simple experience. I feel like I got an good rate but it came with resort credit and I felt like it was a good deal.
Very nice property with friendly accommodating staff
Checked in a little while ago and immediately went back to registration to check out. The beds are very old and uncomfortable with spring pressing against your body. The pillows were very worn as well. They're clumpy and lumpy as feather pillow get when they need to be replaced. The bedding is not cotton, its polyester, which is horrible to sleep on. There is actually holes in our linens, they are so old and worn (and blood stains, so welcoming!). The down blanket is paper thin for years and years of use. Plus a 4 star hotel shouldn't have any of these issues. They took us to 3 rooms and this was the best bed. Ricky was very accommodating and tried to fix the situation for us. He even upgraded our room, which should have resolved the issue but didnt. It's just old, real old. So in our new room, I've been sitting here on the bed relaxing for about 30mins. Its SO UNCOMFORTABLE! I would check out if my husband wasnt asleep (combat veteran who can sleep in the dirt). This IS NOT a 4 star hotel and you wont get a good night sleep. I cant believe this is what they believe a resort experience is. I'd rather sleep in my rental car at this point. I'm so unhappy and will never come back, and I'll be here quite a bit over the next several months. I stay at resorts quite often and only once have I had a similar experience, but they were completly sold out over Valentine's day weekend and had no flexibility to resolve the issue. Additionally I intend to contact their corporate office. They could buy a new mattress with what I'm paying for 1 night here (with a military discount). I'm afraid to pull back the blankets as they're probably bed bugs on these old mattresses. Shame on you Scottsdale Plaza.
This stay was excellent. We live in Pine so people find it strange that we like to get away by going to the valley, but Scottsdale is our go to! This hotel was amazing. We enjoyed the pool with our friends and the restaurant was amazing. Cocktails and adult beverages smelled really good, but I m pregnant so I couldn t indulge! My 4 year old loved the pools and even the hot tub. In fact I could hardly get her out of it at the end of the night! We hope to be back next month for my birthday! Thanks Scottsdale Plaza for an amazing staycation !
Fantastic. Newly remodeled rooms are so we'll done . We stayed a few days and it was a great resort. The grounds are so beautiful very well kept. Everywhere you looked it was beautiful and clean . The pools are very clean and nice. We loved our stay in a .Bi-Level Suite. This was a upgrade and worth every penny ,the bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were excellent. The villa are all spaced out and it made for a wonderful quiet getaway. Only thing that could be better was the food ,a disappointing menu and the food was lacking. Fortunately it's surrounded by great restaurants.
Nice property. If you get an upgraded room I'd give it 5 stars, standard rooms not so great. Good place for meetings, but not great experiences at the internal restaurants. Stay here but eat elsewhere. The gym is made out of converted racquetball courts so it's much less than expected for a "resort" property.
