What an incredible venue! Even the least expensive seats were fine although sitting in the top row, you were not able to see the sunset. Worth every penny and next time we will have better seats. Not an opera follower, the Italian Girl in Algiers was wonderful.

You cannot find a better summer venue in the USA for opera. The open stage with the magical desert sunsets set the mood. The fans are respectful of the venue, performance and performers.

I ve been going annually since 2010, and have enjoyed every single season. The trick to really enjoy is to come early and bring a bottle of bubbly, cheese, fruit and bread. The tailgate party s are elegant and sedate. The scenery outside is just lovely was a hint of pecos wood and sage in the warm summer winds.

Nice facility, performance was good and the subtitles at you seat are nice. I m big and the seat was roomy and comfortable. We went in August and it was hot even at 10pm. At time the orchestra seemed to overplay the singer's.

We went to the Kacey Musgraves show last night. I was very excited about the show - and paid a lot for the tickets. I don t know if it was the venue or the traveling show, that was responsible for the stage lighting, but was horrible. There were bright spotlights on the stage that were pointed at the audience for most of the show. People were covering their eyes. I couldn t watch the show. I ve seen lots of concerts, but the spot lights pointed at our eyes made this show one of the worst. We ended up leaving.

An amazing experience! We did the buffet dinner with lecturer before being Madame Butterfly and it was worth every penny. The food was wonderful the speaker very informative and it really enhanced our understanding of the opera. The Opera House itself is beautiful. And the performance of Madame Butterfly that we saw last night was so moving and so well done. If you get a chance this is an experience not to miss.

There is nothing like taking in a show here. The opera house is designed with wide open spaces on both sides of the stage. You will be treated to the most spectacular views of the sunset while you wait for the show to start. Also, do yourself a favor and come early to talgate with other showgoers. It will ensure you get good parking, and you will be rewarded with great company.

A very professional and engaging production. If it's a hot day bring a fan and a blanket to sit on. The vinyl chairs can be very hot and uncomfortable when the weather is hot. The opera is worth seeing and I will recommend it to others and return for another production.

I ve never been to opera before, but I find it difficult to believe there is a better experience out there. We saw La Boheme on opening night. The local tailgating game was strong. The opera house has spectacular views all around. The opera itself was beautiful and so well staged. Go check it out if you re in Santa Fe.

Saw The Shins here and it was spectacular. The partially open amphitheater provided a comfortable climate and ensures that the volume level was never in excess. Seats were comfortable enough and wide so that one could sit in a few different positions throughout the concert. Honestly I can't wait to go back.

An open air auditorium, but we'll sheltered from the elements. Many top rated and world renowned performers of opera, pop, broadway and standards, have performed here. Excellent accoustics, no matter where you sit. Opera performers are, surprisingly, not miked. Morning backstage tours are offered in season ( early July to end of season in late August). So very highly recommend.
This is the only major opera house where one can tailgate prior to performances and you can dress high formal or casual, your choice. You may even bump elbows with local or national politicos or celebrities.
There is a nice, if overly expensive gift shop available in the courtyard, open prior to, during, and after performances. cocktails and occasional light snacks are offered during intermission, though not allowed in the auditorium except for water. You may get a chill should a breeze blows through the open sides as the evening progresses, so bringing a stadium blanket or sweater is not in common.

Beautiful open theater with a great surrounding. Parking was easy and tail gating is allowed. Only water allowed into the theater area but some nice side areas for viewing if you wanted a drink

We had the time of our lives. I met some friends to attend the opera. Didn't understand a word, but sat next to a very nice lady who was fluent in Italian and she helped explain things during the intermissions.

The spectacle and venue are outstanding.

I am not an opera fan, but I would come back here anytime. Natural setting is spectacular- but seats on the lower level edges are at risk of getting wet during a storm. We had tickets in the upper level center and stayed dry during a huge thunderstorm that was the best performance of the night.

Great, nonpretentious venue with relatively easy in and out access. Beautiful mountain setting in Santa Fe makes you feel relaxed and free of stress. Various lookout points with several picnic benches for tailgating. We opted for Gabriel's Mexican Food about 15 minutes away from the opera. A somewhat upscale dining experience with outdoor seating and reasonably priced, authentic food. The tableside guacamole is worth the price !
