I don't think there's a bad seat in this theater. This was my fourth time seeing a show here....however, the performance of the actors in "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" was my favorite by far. The theater is clean, easy to manuveaur your way about and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great performance but not very handicap friendly. The building is but even though we called ahead specifically stating I used a "walker with wheels" and needed it within arms reach, this was not the case where they had located our group of 6. The individual usher who "helped" us was very rude and demeaning. HOWEVER, he did redeem himself after I firmly told him to stop interrupting me and to let me show him how my "rollator" folded up (which had been explained in detail over the phone) and he DID apologize and gave us each a free drink coupon. However, I did start my theater eving in tears...

I love the atmosphere here, it's the coziest place in Pittsburgh to see a play. the scenery is always amazing and the shows are absolutely first-rate. I've been buying tickets since about 2010 and I've never regretted a purchase yet!

Great small theater. They have snacks and beverages for sale. The seats are cozy aka cramped. Stage design is inclusive and the actors often interact with the audience. The theatre design is done well as the sound projects evenly to all seating and the stage can be seen by all of the audience. Every seat is a good seat.

I hadn't been to the Pittsburgh Public Theater since I returned to the city and the O'Reilly Theater is really beautiful. I hope to see more productions there, since the space is gorgeous. I haven't seen a show done by Pittsburgh Public Theater since they moved, but I'm sure they still do a really good job with all their productions. I look forward to enjoying more shows and venue in the future.

Just a little over a month later, I saw my first Pittsburgh Public play in decades. The show was very good. The cast was great and I look forward to seeing more productions in the future.

Inbred. Self-satisfied. Short-sighted.

Theatre should not be about survival of the theatre company, but rather, the enrichment and intellectual growth of the community.

PPT wouldn't know a visionary from Visine.

I am a 35 year subscriber to PPTheater. The 5 stars do not mean that every production was a 5 star success.
No-one expects that! Rather it is to say that the set will astonish us; the actors Will be excellent and the choice of plays will be broad.

I went with my acting class to see Marjorie Prime and loved it! Very nice venue with seating so close you'll feel like you're in the play. I only wish I'd gone long before this! Planning my next trip already!

I attended the recent Public production of The Tempest. It was a visual feast, with sumptuous design values and powerful acting. They tweaked a few things to modernize it a little, creating a frame story and cutting a few things to make a run time of 2 hours with no intermission. I'll definitely be back!

My daughter and I went to see little shop of horrors at the O Reilly theater. It was awesome. Superb acting and singing. Truly a great experience that that will be remembered and cherished for all of our lives. The theater and stage setup were very impressive. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. To top it off, the prices for drinks and other memorabilia were very fair. If you have the opportunity, go see this show!

Loved it! Much smaller and more personal, actors are right up in your face. No real need to be amplified, sounds carry very well.
Multiple restrooms and refreshment areas, plenty of floor space. Could use a larger waiting area before the play.

A relatively inexpensive way to be entertained for an evening. This theater presents a great mixture of musicals produces by groups of varying levels of experience, all of which have proven to be worth watching, in my experience. Refreshments are competitively priced, accommodations are made for individuals with handicaps, & the overall atmosphere is friendly & relaxing. My only qualm is the fact that you'll watch a warped version of your musical should you happen to sit on one of the auditorium's sides, but alas, this is no fault of the theater's, & is something many directors seem to account for.

Not a bad seat in the house. Our family just went to see Little Shop of Horrors and it was fantastic. Seats are comfortable (and I am a large mammal), the setting is intimate, and the show was incredible.

The theater is awesome! Comfortable seating in an intimate atmosphere. Saw "School Girls," which was a nice surprise. Humorous, but edgy - caused me to reflect on other viewpoints and how we treat other humans. While our seats were close to the stage, we were on the side so couldn't always follow the dialogue. Still, a good play in a good venue.

We enjoyed this fantasy based play. We had exchanged our season ticket seats and ended up with poor sight lines, but there wasn't anything that was important to see right away. I enjoy the wide range of shows chosen for us, and appreciate the care that goes into rehearsals and stage management. Costumes are excellent and the acoustics are great.

I want to start by saying that the show was spectacular and so was the venue. However, we arrived at our seats to find an usher, no not a typo, an usher occupying one of our seats in the third row in the middle. The usher asked my girlfriend and I if we would be ok sitting apart as she was not going to move out of her seat. She then proceeded to tell us that it wasn't a full house and we could find plenty of seats together higher up in the theatre and stayed in the seat for the duration of the show. Without helping anyone to their seats of course. It's a terrible shame, it was a spectacular performance but I won't be buying tickets there anytime soon knowing that my seats aren't guaranteed and can be occupied by employees at any given time
