Love love. The experience, the art and the vibes were phenomenal. I would have loved to spend my whole day there. I didn t know what to expect when I reached the museum and that worked in my favor I would say. I loved the French , Greek and Egyptian displays personally. The staff at the Getty museum were very friendly and helpful. They were so forthcoming in sharing information and helping, they were all so Cheerful and doing everything they could to make one comfortable. The layout the cactus garden it s all a Don t miss! I would suggest keep ample time in reserve before you head there because if you are an art enthusiast you would want to settle there.

For just a minimal parking fee, the Getty is a must see for anyone visiting beautiful southern Cal. Beautiful artwork and great displays housed in stunning architecture and brilliant views of the valley.

Beautiful museum with a huge range of activities and things to see. The views are spectacular and art is amazing. The little train ride up was fun too. Very well priced (only pay for parking - approx. $15 and free entrance).

Beautiful place. Loved the gardens and the architecture. Exhibits were nice too. I stopped here for a couple hours towards the end of the afternoon when visiting Los Angeles and wished I had more time to spend.

In my opinion the best place to visit in LA, no other attraction is as good as The Getty, absolutely beautiful, either visit the amazing catalog of art they have or spend the afternoon in the gorgeous gardens. The Getty is a must see if you visit Los Angeles, if I'd live close I would visit every weekend.

The travertine constructed Getty Center holds a marvelous treasure trove of Art. From rare ancient artifacts and exhibition to contemporary works there is something for everyone. As they say some of the best things in life are free and this museum is free all year round. A monorail sweeps you to the top of the hill where you can enjoy lush gardens, ocean views and city scrapes that will take your breath away. There are multiple dining locals (open based on the season.) Parking is a flat 20.00 but public transportation is easy to find as well. Sundays you will find many free classes and events for individuals and families including children. The summer free concerts are especially wonderful with beautiful skies and amazing vistas to take in. Bring a jacket just in case and tennis shoes will make the stone more comfortable to walk on.

Amazing place for architecture and art lovers. Best thing to do for free in Los Angeles. Excellent place to take pictures all around and see the views of Los Angeles. Not being your usual touristic experience is what makes it an attractive thing to visit. I wish more people knew about it.

I basically grew up here because both my parents worked at the museum, so I might be biased, but this museum is fantastic! Great exhibits, wonderful people, beautiful gardens, and it's free!

go and see what oil money can buy!!!! there's no entry fee; however, there's a fixed fee for parking in the multi level structure just below the getty. alternatively, there's public transportation via city bus that's available. from the parking structure, you may ride up a complimentary tram to the museum or walk along a footpath up the hill. you'll have to advise the tram station attendant that you would prefer to walk up. they'll guide you towards the footpath; the leisurely walk is about 15 minutes.

Amazing views and lots to learn about art! there's also a grass area where you may picnic.
One of the best places to go to in L.A. On a clear day, you're able to see the ocean and the city!

Very uneventful, the garden tour was quite dull, we decided to split off and visit all the museums on our own. A few arts grabbed our kids attention, otherwise it was not the best attraction for kids or families.

$20 to park and the rest is free. Cafe and/or restaurant or bring your own food and have a picnic and enjoy a day of taking tours or a self-guided tour of the galleries. Went with a friend and her three kids and my two kids and they handled the 30 minute Renaissance tour amazingly and we're very interested in our tour guide. She was very patient and made a point to include the kids, which I appreciated. We ate at the cafe, which was pricey, but delicious and fresh.

Free parking for one hour plus free entrance to the museum makes for a fun quick date where you can run all over the place and snap as many photos together as you can before your hour is up

Expansive art museum with a ton to see! It's easy to get overwhelmed by all of the galleries and exhibitions but it is definitely worth the trip. Perfect for a day by yourself using the free self guided tours or with family in friends taking in the art and spectacular views of LA. I recommend packing a pic nic for a nice relaxing break in the gardens.

One of the most gorgeous museums I've ever visited. Breath-taking views and artistic spaces. One day, I want a mansion just like this. The rotating exhibits are amazing and the permanent ones are eye-opening. It's free but parking's expensive but you can visit the Getty in Malibu on the same day w/o paying for parking twice. Not a bad deal. Love the tram ride uphill the most.

Diverse collection of fine art in a facility which in itself is an art collection: interesting architecture and sea views. Free admission, but call first to verify this. Parking $15/car.

My favorite LA museum!

My favorite LA museum!
You only pay parking and can stay there the whole day! The art work is very complete, and not only that, but the architecture of the place and the gardens are to die for

After watching many YouTube videos on what to do in LA and reading many top 10 lists of where to go in LA...I knew I absolutely had to visit The Getty. The only thing disappointing about it was that I didn't have more time to spend.
Such an incredible place to experience. The art here is amazing. The sculptures, paintings, furnishings, tapestries, photographs, gardens....and the history..it all just had me in awe. And the views of LA are spectacular!
I also really appreciated the umbrellas that were available for use. The extra sun protection was much needed. I did visit the cafe for lunch as well. The food was very good. Every employee I encountered was polite and professional.
I hope to have the opportunity to visit here again someday.

Please reconsider the way your security guards warn people. One of the security guards made me so sad because he yelled at me so loud and sounded very inconsiderate. That bummed my day a lot. I didn't enjoy anything after what happened. Thanks for making my day.

Words would really not do justice to this landmark. The worrying this is that no one recommended this place to us as somewhere to visit. All my local LA friends never mentioned this place, but a google maps recommendation encouraged me to see it. Firstly, when you arrive and park (if you leave in 1 hour it's free parking, but you'll need a lot more just to scratch the surface), you'll go to the top of the building and a tram, powered by pulleys will take you around the mountains to the main centre. This tram ride is stunning and alone worth the visit. The centre itself is a shimmering, white palace. The architecture is otherworldly and yet somehow, familiar and classic all at the same time. It really is a sight to behold. The exhibits themselves are reasonably good (I'm a Londoner, we're spoilt when it comes to museums). Definitely one to see.
