The number of exhibits and the collection of artwork is truly impressive. Not the mention that the view that you get from the top floor balcony is something nice for those who enjoy some fresh air after being inside for hours looking through the countless number of artwork.

Amazing place! The permanent collection is wonderful and they always have the best special exhibits. The garden and rolling grass hill is beautiful and a bide place to picnic. Objectively the worst coffee I've ever had in my life.
Parking can be rough, but it's a wonderful view. You can see everything in about three to four hours. I prefer the sculptures and paintings over the photographs. More classical art than modern art, which I also prefer. Food is expensive, so bring your own!
Great place. The views and the art are really good. Staff was really helpful. Parking is easy and the tram is fast and simple. It takes more than one visit to enjoy all the place has to offer!
Love Getty. If I lived nearby, I would definitely become a member. The seasonal flowers, especially in the early spring, cherry blossoms, lilacs, and camelias are a rare sight in Southern California. They have the cutest gift store too, with lots of gift ideas for the women in your life.
Lovely grounds and architecture. The collection is representative. Don't go if you only have a short time as the buildings are a bit confusing to navigate... But the docents are well informed and (mostly) helpful.
Rich greenery, great space. You can walk for hours and truly spoil yourself in all the views and scents from the natural landscape that surrounds the city s finest free museum.
Truly a gift to the world, the Getty Museum is a fine facility that boast so many acres. If you didn t go inside the museum you would still find plenty to take in from all the lovely outdoor space.
An absolutely glorious place. The views, the gardens and grounds, the buildings, are amazing. And then of course there is the art. A one-day visit will give you an overview, but it's best to plan several trips there. we
Wonderful place to enjoy Valentine's Day in California. As a Los Angeles native, we don't always appreciate what we have in our own backyard. Beautiful views, perfect temperature and excellent exhibits. Where else do you find Monet, Renoir, Van Gough, Degas all in one room! My Valentine wife, Gabrielle's romantic suggestion to spend the afternoon here.
Whether or not you like the exhibits, you will appreciate and enjoy the architecture and gardens. Go early to avoid the crowds. Have a leisurely lunch and stroll the gardens taking in the view.
Beautiful landscaping and architecture. Nice view of la definitely worth seeing. I checked out the bouchardon exhibit which is European art. Parking is 15 and very tight but other wise very enjoyable experience.
We came here in early October, it was super hot that day. We went into the main building and walked through to the other building and went through the Greek bronze sculpture exhibit.. Then ended up circling back to the main building to pick up an audio tour device. We enter the classical paintings wing and it was much nicer to have the audio which gave a narrative of the portraits, not all portraits had a narrative. Because we got there so late in the day, we wanted to see the garden and headed downstairs. What's really nice was that they offer umbrellas for guest to use, which was extremely helpful in the heat.
Wow! What a great place to spend the afternoon! The parking is $15, but everything else is free! They have umbrellas at every building to use for shade or rain. Just pick one up and drop it at the next building. It's genious! The art is extensive and they have new exhibits that come through as well. I'm going back!
There s a tram that gets you all the way up. Once there you have many foods options. The view of over LA is amazing, you can see everything from Santa Monica to Downtown LA ! The place is beautiful, I was more interested in the place itself than the art exposed. You don t want to miss this place if you re visiting LA.
A visit to the Getty Villa offers an experience of ancient Greek and Roman art in a setting that recreates a first-century Roman villa. Home to the J. Paul Getty Museum s antiquities collection, the two-floor museum displays art that spans the 7,000 years from the end of the Stone Age to the fall of the Roman empire.
The Getty Museum is spread over two lavish campuses. The most extravagant, the original Getty Villa in Malibu, is a modern recreation of a First century Roman villa built by oil tycoon J Paul Getty. The villa houses a world-class collection of Greek, Roman and Etruscan antiquities. The Getty Center, which opened on a hillside in Brentwood in 1997 and cost $1.3 billion, looks more like a giant white pharmaceutical plant and houses a world class collection of American and European photographs, European art and furniture.
The Getty is an amazing place. There is a beautiful garden with a duck maze. The art is beautiful. I got to see the European section and I really want to see the mesoamerican section. I spent a whole day here with my friends and it was not enough to see everything. I will come back for more.
This is not a "real" museum. Basically just a showcase for one mediocre artist who wants to display his work. However, you will also find some amazing contemporary Chinese art mixed in. And if you are wandering around Los Angeles and want a peaceful place to take a break, this place is good.
A must see when you're traveling through LA. Even though I'm not a big art fan this place is just absolutely breathtaking. The views of LA are spectacular and the building itself is stunning.
A highlight of LA (that's not saying much for LA by the way which isn't my cup of tea). Could easily have spent two days here. Both inside and out has interest not only in the exhibits but in the architecture too. Designed for the US market so no effort required other than a stroll.
