We had a good time at the Getty. It's about what you'd expect for a giant art museum: a lot of walking around and a lot of cool art and exhibits. The extreme variety of people there were almost as interesting as the art.

One particular exhibit had a section that had a lot of nudity. Not classical, renaissance type nudity, but rather modern, distasteful nudity. There were no signs or plaques that warned us that we'd run into that and it caught us off guard. Although this art may be appreciated by some, it's not appreciated by all and proper advisement of such art would have been most welcome.

What a stunning place! At first I thought it was an example of the "brutalist" school of architecture, but as the sun began to go down the light reflecting off the pale stone and white walls became warm. We went to see the Manet exhibition - not a favourite painter but worth the effort. Most fun was in the Early Christian rooms - wonderful altarpieces and Madonnas, particularly two beauties by Simone Martini. Excellent day!

Apart from world-class art, the structure itself is spectacular. A full view of LA, from Santa Monica to Malibu. I had my phone out half the time taking photos. This museum is a must-see.

The train was fun along the freeway, I like the unique way it takes you to the museum. The museum is so big so plan ahead your trip to be able to see it all, it also had some beautiful garden. Some places inside the museum you cannot take pictures I think that would be the down side, besides that everything was good, had a really good time.

I don't know how you can say anything bad about this place. Everything is well maintained and in a beautiful setting. My only gripe is that I wish that they had more ethnic food choices, but other than that everything is good. They even have cool music programs during the summer.

Recommend starting in the upstairs of the north pavilion and working your way through the buildings for a really good chronological tour of European art. Great all through but the impressionists are the highlights, Monet, van Gogh, some of the best

Surpassed all of my expectations. Beautiful grounds and friendly, accommodating staff. If you appreciate arts and architecture, you'll appreciate the quality product The Getty center offers. The best way to find out if this is a fit for your interests is to check out their website and see the exhibits they are currently offering.

The only fee for entry was a modest parking fee. Well worth the price.

It's tucked away in a residential neighborhood in close proximity to the heart of the Castro and at first glance, you might be skeptical. I thought the slides looked way dinkier than I had imagined and thought, "How is this going to be exciting?" But then I proved myself wrong.

I really enjoyed this place because of the different types of art displayed here. They were also organized by type of art, for each separate building and floor. If you happen to stay close to the closing time, watch out for the sunset, the unnamed master piece of the Getty Center.

The Getty Center is a beautiful place to visit. Aside from the $15 parking fee, everything is free. So in case you visit on a bus, your entry is free. The Getty Center is located on a hill owned by the Getty foundation and houses some of the most beautiful pieces of art. You can get lost for hours together inside this amazing museum, enjoying and immersing yourself into the beauty of the art, the museum and the atmosphere. A beautiful place to visit with fellow art lovers.

modern architecture, hosting some nice ancient artifacts. Many wow moments, especially when visiting furniture and painting area.

Frequent and nice tram rides to the TOP of hill, providing nice views down at LA city.

Supposed to be free but parking cost $20 beyond first hour. Sneaky way to generate revenue, no one can complete the tour in one hour. But I understand it s fair to make money somehow, for something this beautiful.

This museum is beautifully curated with a selection of art from all over the world. On my most recent visit, they had a temporary exhibit of painstakingly accurately simulated Buddhist caves.

We started with the Garden Tour and I highly recommend it. The tour guide knew everything and kept our interest through the 45 minute tour. Parking was easy. It's no cost to visit the Getty and it's about $20.00 for parking. There is so much to see, it definitely is worth it.

Free admission, not parking. Take a tramp to reach museum uphills. Ask for smart phone and hearing sets if you want to know paintings more. Each building has its own topics. Central Garden is another interesting site here.

Lots to see ! Every kind of art is displayed in all building's. A must stop visit! Recommendation, don't drive a large truck or vehicle. Parking is in a structure and narrow spaces and most of all , low clearance! $20. For parking in structure, walk to an area to take free shuttle up to the Getty. Fabulous !

Amazing experience! The layout and build makes it magical to walk around. It's ease and architecture are easy for all people to maneuver thru. The art rooms are laid out so that many people can view and not be in the way each other. And the noise level is a nice talking level. There is nothing like standing in front of 2000 year old item to put your life in perspective.

The Getty is a legend and has so many different things to visit. Great expositions. Great staff. Very clean environment. Very beautiful views. You can watch over whole Los Angeles from here, it's very beautiful.

Free and beautiful views of the city. I'm less of a fan of older European art, but the architecture and setting more than make up for it. If you haven't been, set aside two and a half hours. The tram up is something I've never seen in a museum before.

Beautiful architecture and landscaping. You have to take a shuttle up the mountain so you feel a bit removed from the huge city of LA. Great view of the city and surrounding neighborhoods.

It s so beautiful and worth it! I m not into art much but my breath was taken away many times. I had to give 4 stars because the security guards in each room are very rude. They just stare/follow only certain people based on how you look. I noticed they would follow us a lot more than others. I think that s discrimination. Mind you we didn t do anything wrong. Awful people to encounter at such a beautiful place. Other than that just set enough time aside to explore. There s hours worth of beautiful art to see. The museum is free but you must pay for parking which is $15 before 3pm and $10 after 3pm. I highly recommend going!

Its a wonderful place to immerse yourself in and its not too crowded. I suggest the sketching gallery if you're interested in drawing. The garden is a wonderful spot to photograph the plants and greenery. The employees are fairly friendly and tours are usually free. Good place for family trips.
