Well worth a visit for a history lesson and a good afternoon out my 7 year old loved it

Fantastic, staff friendly and very polite, kids loved it, I'm not going to name but today's 10 o clock tour guide excellent, with all adults and the children, thanks great morning out.

There is souvenir shop related The Royal Mint products.
Students should come here to learn long history of UK coins.

Well organised, friendly staff. Decent tea and cakes.

Shocking customer service. Had one coin on pre-order which was part of a larger collection. Royal Mint tried taking payment from an out of date card and it was declined even though I had phoned through new card details. Result was my order was cancelled and they gave my coin to someone else, now my collection is incomplete unless I pay 10x on the second hand market.

Quite interesting. No viewing of casting coins, but good tour which all ages seemed to enjoy. Nice shop and cafe.

Give your self plenty of time to book in the check-in system is very poor

The customer service in the gift shop and cafe leave a lot to be desired. The guided tour on the other hand was very informative and thoroughly enjoyable.

Great as long as you are into coins and that. Good to learn about.

As the saying goes.. 'I will never look at coins the same way again' Our tour guide Matthew was so very informative and I enjoyed every minute.

If you're into a bit of history and or coin collecting this is definitely somewhere for you to visit. You can have a guided tour, our guide was fun and very informative and theres more to see than I expected which was nice. It has free parking, just up the road, toilets, cafe and a gift shop. It's not really suitable for young children.

Excellent display which proved stimulating and informative. Our guides were friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

Had an excellent visit today to The Royal Mint Experience. Our tour guide, Alison W was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I learned so much about coin production and it's pretty fascinating, even if you're new to coins and minting. The facilities on site are great, plenty for the kids like puzzles and games on the tour. A great on site cafe offering hot and cold foods all day as well as drinks. There's a huge shop to buy souvenirs too and star your collection. All of the staff at The Royal Mint Experience very friendly and happy to answer questions too. It's a great few hours out to learn all about the mint, it's history and more.

Really interesting experience. Found all the details about making coins fascinating and even got to strike my own brilliantly uncirculated 50p!

Both the wife and I found this to be very educational and enlightening experience would recommend

Brilliant fun. Doesnt take too long either. Maybe 2 hours. The staff are super friendly and REALLY know their stuff! Cameras aren't allowed inside but it's worth a visit, even if your not really into coins. And if you are then you will LOVE it!

Great place to visit and take kids. You only need to go once though.

The guided tour was fascinating, with lots of information and facts about how the coins are made, for whom, and more. Demonstrations were good, and there was plenty of space to see, and time to investigate the processes described. Very highly recommended.

Brilliant experience good to see how our coins are made

I would give the Royal Mint staff that deal with the loading 5 stars but as for the Lady with black hair on the gate I asked if I could use the toilet on site and was told no I was told to go to the Tesco store that is about two miles away. With the load I was carrying I have been told not to stop but I had to run the risk of stopping at the service's and leaving the lorry unattended

LOVED IT! really good day out! You get a tour around the place, our tour guide was fantastic! Took about 40 mins on the tour but theres soo much to see that you do not get bored! Its fascinating learning about everything! We had food there before our tour aswell, really good prices and lovely food! Really good day out!

Enjoyed the tour, lifting the gold bar was my highlight worth 400k. Gift shop nice but expensive

Great place to visit, easy to find with loads of free parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the tour guide (Megan?) was very knowledgeable. Shop was good and went on a Tuesday to change some of our 10p's for the alphabet ones.

Disappointing and not really suitable for younger children. If you want to do the Gruffalo experience aim to arrive at least an hour and half early and do it before your tour. As it is not part of the tour as it is advertised, our tour ended after the last Gruffalo slot started and we now have two very dissapointed kids

Our 9 year old had a great time the tour guide was very informative and made it interesting

Although we do love coin collecting I found the royal mint lacking and disappointing. Although my husband enjoyed.

cool day out finding out about the prices of how its made and got to see the new 12 sodded 1 pound. the history of royal mint is good to it is the royal mint museum i want to see next not easy to get in to

A great fun few hours there. We did the tour, good but would ve liked to see more. Maybe security issues?

It was good to see school trips looking around, we hope the kiddies enjoyed it as much as we did.

Enjoyed picking up the Goldfinger style gold bar. What a shame it was in a very secure cabinet!! ;)

Very informative. Great for youngsters. Even has a section that is interactive. Well worth a visit.

A bit out of the way but worth the time to visit. Some special items to see, very unusual.

Trying to actually BUY some coins but there is a problem with the Royal Mint online software so I emailed them. STILL awaiting a reply. As a retired Customer Services manager this is nOT ACCEPTABLE!

Fascinating and very informative! Well worth a visit

A great place to visit. Car park is a short walk from the centre with ample parking.

Front of the visitor centre is very welcoming and modern. The tour itself is very interesting and the tour guide we had was fantastic - Theodora- she made it fun and was very enthusiastic. She clearly enjoys her job and it shows.



Gift ship good too and a nice cafe if you need to wait for your tour to start.

Would definately recommend visiting here. Such a great and interesting place.

Fantastic place to visit even if you don't collect coins, so much history and stories you would never have expected! Gives you a hell of more respect for the money that's in your pocket the work that's put into it mind blowing. Our tour guide Alison was absolutely awesome as well! So knowledgeable and engaging, no matter what the question was she knew the answer, defiently added a lot to the tour really can't recommend her or the tour anymore. Hey your butt down for a visit! And strike your own coins as well

As two adults with coin collections we were eager to visit The Royal Mint. It is not necessary to book in advance but we did buy our tickets online as I hate being turned away from places due to numbers. The guide was pleasant and the tour More

Gorgeous setting for Afternoon Tea, and both the food and staff were stellar; we definitely plan on going again!

Interesting tour. Guide tended to speak a little too fast (younger generation). Thought we would see more of the manufacturing process. Museum is very good.

We had a really good time here but for the price I was slightly disappointed at the tour which felt rushed started really good with a video presentation then we were lead by the guide to the factory which is so security tight (understandably) but you could have a better chance breaking someone out of prison than taking a penny or photo. This experience is catering for collectors and people with no kids! Our son is autistic and like to mix that with ADHD so controlling such offender can be hard but we managed no to bad but felt that because he had low outbursts we were singled out the tour guide gave a speech how the coins came into existence but gave you seconds to ask a question in return and when asked certain questions it's like his computing restrictions kicked in and had a melt down and just moved on. Overall it was a expensive experience but it was ok and maybe in the future we'll try again.

What a great day out and because the other booking didn't turn up we had a private tour

HORRRRRRENDOUS TOUR GUIDE!!!!

I went to the royal mint last week & Decided to invite my family back today along with 3 young children! we paid good money for these tour tickets & had nothing but disrespectful attitude from our tour guide who told us & our children to shut up numerous times.. also stopped the tour when our child babbled and stared over at us 3 times! she singled our whole family out in front of an audience and made us feel a minority.. i felt my child couldn t even speak without causing an upset, it was horrible.. it was humiliating for me as i brought my family to have a fun day out.. if any senior management read this, i didn t manage to catch her name.. as i was furious and left.. she was walking with a crutch which will instantly single her out. i won t be returning

Great experience to see so much money being made in such a short time. Well worth a visit.
