This review is of the restaurant : Spectacular food. I'd upload pics but I was too busy eating. The farm salad with figs and the grilled octopus were particularly tasty. On top of that the staff are friendly and the patio has a killer view of the water.

Went out for a friends birthday dinner last night, had an excellent meal...we ordered the salmon-cooked to perfection, the mussels were in a lovely sauce which was great for dipping bread! The chef brought us out a complimentary burratta which was so delicious...we chose the chocolate dessert and was exquisite, they even brought us brownies for my friends birthday!! Serious compliments to the chef, he made this a memorable night!

The food was good but the service was atrocious. We ordered a few beers at the time our meal was served and the waitress didn't come back until we were almost completely done and it was to tell us that they didn't have the beers we ordered. We told her to just forget it, we were basically done eating.

It took at least 10 minutes to bring us our check. I split the bill myself because apparently splitting a meal by seat is just far too difficult for restaurants in Beacon. Division is hard. I handed the waitress two credit cards and literally wrote on the receipt the last name on the card and the amount. I could not have made her job more simple than if I swiped the cards myself. After 15 minutes she comes back and she had split the bill in half.

I cannot imagine how long it would have taken to have this error corrected and so we just decided to leave. I doubt I'll return.

What great food. Service is getting there as well. And no comparison to the 'old' roundhouse - different league. After five courses I wasn't full, I was delighted. Light and delicious food, excellently prepared. Am sure it will be awarded a star in the near future.

Great atmosphere, service was really excellent, and food was delicious. As other reviewers mentioned, it is pricey for the area, but it is also a cut above the norm. Coming from Manhattan, the prices were pretty normal and quality of the food was definitely worth it. They could be slightly more generous with the pour for wines by the glass, but overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

This place has everything. The food is amazing and the selection is quite varried. The atmosphere is great and there is an amazing view of the waterfall. The patio is perfect for a nice sunny day. Last time we did sunday brunch we had such an amazing waitress she did not hesitate to provide recommendations when asked and was very friendly.

We went to dinner there during restaurant week which may have been our problem. However we have been to other restaurants during restaurant week and had better experiences. The food was average and so was the service. You could definitely tell they were premade meals and were rushing you through. Maybe if you go a different time it's much better. My advice is go somewhere else during restaurant week. Many other places don't give you a discounted experience because of a discounted menu.

Tator tots with some fried chicken...can't go wrong. Choose a seat near the window and you get a fantastic view of the stream moving. The decor of the place is also pretty nice. I noticed photos hanging of the what the place was like before. Only suggestions would be to work some more on the Mac and Cheese, it has potential but it's still missing something, maybe add a little Beacon twist to it.

I just recently booked a stay post Covid-19 with my boyfriend because we generally love Beacon. I have a service animal for a handicap I have in which I shared all this information upon check-in at the front desk.
As I tried to sit near the waterfall in their newly opened OUTDOOR BBQ area, I was harassed by the GM, Barry, who threatned that if my dog barked once, we would be kicked out. Nothing happened, and Barry kicked me out of the restaurant anyway stating the dog was being "disruptive". He then followed me to the other OUTDOOR property to threathen me further. I spoke with all the staff and another manager Kate who was lovely, and made us feel welcome. All the staff felt sorry and made me aware that this was a newly hired (post-Covid) inexperienced general manager and was very apologetic and sweet and took care of us. Afterwards I emailed the other partner GM, Antonio, (son of the owner) who showed no remorse, was unapologetic, threatened me with a cleaning fee and made poor attempts at stating the law. This hotel has exhibited a behavior that is the furthest away from hospitable and by far the worst, most terrifying experience I've ever had. I DO NOT recommend staying here as this behavior is directly tied to senior levels of management and ownership of the hotel.
I've attached a picture of the service dog which they claimed to be disruptive and unruly just so you can see what they were dealing with and let you be the judge.

The hotel is beautiful and clean, and overall is not bad. But for a price like $400 a night, it doesn't live up to the standard. There's no view from our unit. We were on the ground floor facing parking lot, so the privacy became an issue. And we were placed very close to lobby area. It's been noisy late in the night and in the morning. The breakfast is pretty disappointing... and not even fresh milk to add into your capsule coffee. I like having breakfast inside room during COVID times, but I don't feel like they put much thought into creating a good breakfast for customers (it's more like they did it for their own convenience). After checking out, we took a walk around the hotel buildings, and I love the view of the waterfall and the beautiful landscape.

The place really is lovely. You get wonderful views of the waterfall and eating outside is also great. The food is also delicious but it is a tad expensive and the portions aren t the biggest. Regardless is a great place to go for a special treat and you won t be disappointed by the food or the service.

Well... this is tough. The rooms are beautiful but we went during the hot/humid season and the A/C is way too noisy at night so it s pretty uncomfortable. The TV works if you have a background in IT. Not very user friendly. Restaurant on the river is beautiful.

Simply phenomenal! Food was top notch service was excellent! They need a new lobster bisque recipe but other than that was outstanding! Also kudos to bartender who was an absolute professional in her knowledge of bourbons! Made for a special evening.

So I made a reservation for 6pm and asked for a table by waterfall if possible. When we arrived they told us seating inside was available but there was a 20-25 min wait for outside, there were about 3 clean tables that I could see and I had a reservation so I didn t get why we had to wait but we decided to wait the 20 min inside and have a drink at the bar. Zachary was our bartender and honestly, we should ve just sat inside at the bar and ate our meal with him. I ordered the lobster roll and my mom the fish and chips, my order came out and my moms order was never put in so we waited about 10 min for that. The roll had a generous amount of lobster but it had 0 flavor so I drowned it in hot sauce and Instead of the chips I asked for a Cesar salad but they were out of the dressing....uh how?! So I said that s fine just give me the salad without it and mentioned I didn t want tomatoes, well I got tomatoes...loads of em in my Caesar salad my mom enjoyed the fish and tots (not chips) I tried it and it was good. Our server was pleasant but a bit overburdened, maybe they were short staffed or she had too many tables at the time, not sure. I had a great time making laughs with my mom though.

We stayed in the Roundhouse in a room with a view and the room was gorgeous. The design was great and the falls are so pretty. The management also went above and beyond for us. When our car broke down on the way to our wedding ceremony, they called our rental company and sorted out repairs. For any couple looking at them as a wedding venue, I would feel confident knowing that they will go out of their way to make things smooth for you!

This review is for the hotel. We came, we saw, we left. The interior is just as pictured on the website, however, be prepared for a hotel that's understaffed and deserted, especially if you have the misfortune of arriving mid-week when food service is unavailable. There is no signage outside except for the restaurants and it's easy to mistake it for just another crumbling brick building in an unsavory neighborhood. There is no easy way to drive up and unload bags. There is no valet and no bellman. The parking lot is up the street and unsecured. What's worse, when we entered, the lobby smelled like fish and there was an open bin of unwashed dishes behind the front desk. Nice view of a waterfall, though, if you enjoy that sort of thing.

Ate outside here for lunch a few weeks ago and it was lovely with excellent food made with fresh, high-quality products. Dessert was substantial. Lol. Excellent views, and luckily our umbrella kept us out of the sun. The cocktails definitely run on the sweet side (mine was too sweet for me), so note that if you like a more bitter or sour taste. We didn t stay at the hotel, but we noticed the indoor dining room and hotel common areas were frigid, so I wouldn t be inclined to stay here during warm weather or eat indoors during warm weather when they d have the AC blasting.

The Roundhouse was fantastic in our first visit. The food and service was really good, prices were basically what you come to expect from any upscale restaurant. For the two of us it came to $100, that included 2 meals, 2 drinks and 1 dessert. The best part of this restaurant and most likely the reason you will go, is the location. It sits literally downstream of a waterfall and right on top of the rapids below. The entire restaurants one side is floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy this view. That is worth admission alone.

I agree with others the restaurant service was slow and the food was cold, meat was over cooked and the meal was not a high chef quality like we had thought it would be. Kitchen definitely, needs Gordon Ramsey! However, the room and view were great and the hotel sent up a complimentary tray with wine. I have a two strike policy so we will try them again.

We visited on a summer evening in early August 2016. The outside patio with the waterfall in the background is absolutely fantastic. The noise of the falls is so Zen-like and relaxing. It's actually hard to leave. We had the most fabulous cocktails and snacks. Try their version of an Old Fashion and the Smokey Manhattan. The olives, almonds and baby fried artichokes with black olive tapenade are fabulous. The scallops for dinner were truly excellent and the special strawberry shortcake on sweet biscuits for dessert was delicious. We had excellent service and were not rushed in any way. It was a fabulous evening though pricey! We can't wait to return.

One of the most unique and beautiful hotels we have ever experienced. And, the town in which it is located couldn't be any more charming. Love The Roundhouse! It's a definite Hudson Valley go-to spot!

Zachary was our server. Will definitely be asking for him next time. He really knew his stuff when we asked him questions about the menu. He had a full bar including us to wait on and he was still attentive and treated us like we his only customers. Food was delicious too. Pictures posted are of the cream cakes and the octopus appetizers.

- fantastic patio

- fantastic patio
- superb architecture
- the waterfall!
- our apetizers were really really good (scallops and octopus)
- our entree were not that impressive (steak). Fries definitely oversalted, steak ok but the kind of steak that taste like it might have taken hormones or never had seen a grass field... i might be wrong but that is how is tasted to us.
- found an ok Burgundy, we were quite happy with it but the wine list definitely balances on the new world side and could use some help for people liking artisan/terroir/natural wines
- summer student service was cute but a bit flaky :-)
- pricepoint aligned with the new pretentions of Beacon but overall quite normal

Will definitely go back, because it is such a great place to chill after a hike or so...

It Was Ok.

It Was Ok.

It left a lot to be desired tbh.

Stopped in last night with the bf for dinner and ambience on a Friday night - the Waterfall is obviously the best thing about this place.

The ambience left a lot to be desired as did the food. Ordered their Summer Salad - a little spring mix of limp greens with pomegranate seeds that were slightly turning - lame at best. Ordered the Yellowfin Tartare which had zero taste - was just ok. Grilled Octopus was decent. The Crab Claws were beyond tiny but the Crab Cakes were delicious!!

Honestly though - if I'm paying these prices I want to feel like I'm eating food elevated to what I can plop on a plate at home.

I was expecting the Roundhouse patio to be something other than it was, I guess a little more put together with flowers and plants scattered around not just table and chairs with rusted umbrella stands and concrete walls - not even any music - wahwahwah.

Maybe they're keeping with the sad and desolate times but it would have been nice sitting in a cheery environment on a beautiful night under the stars listening to some soft music while hearing the waterfall in the distance amongst flowers and plants and feeling that you were away from the madness of what's going on.

No oasis here - my bad for thinking it could have been - it has the bones to be magical though.

Despite the great views of the falls, the modern decor and able selection of alcohol (I had a tasty stout), for the money spent, I felt that the taste of the food was rather lacking. While the starting slice of walnut and raisin bread was tasty, especially with the butter, it was a bit hard and probably would have been better served warm. The seafood chowder was good, although I was not expecting it would be tomato-based. The nose to tail pork ramen was probably the most disappointing. I thought it too salty and didn't appreciate the meatballs or the ramen that was more like angel hair pasta. Dessert was a scoop of chocolate brownie ice cream that was slightly spicy and on a bed of some sort of crumbled pie crust-type material that detracted from my enjoyment of the ice cream itself. Finally, while the cappuccino and service were also good, overall, I don't think the restaurant was worth the money spent.

I have only eaten a full course dinner here once and it was years ago. It was excellent. If I recall it was a scallops dish.
Other times at the outside patio and at the inside bar the food has been hit or miss.
I did however have one of the best pate dishes since I was in Paris. It was called Faux Grois..Chicken pate instead of duck served on a croissant with fruit on side. SIMPLY DELICIOUS.
Drinks are NYC prices. The wine pour is minimal for the price.
Cozy ambiance at the bar inside. Nice for couples and friends out for a drink.

Absolutely beautiful setting, creative menu, artistically prepared, but, I don't love it. The octopus was delicious, not over cooked, but should have been on a bed of greens. We ordered their fake foi gras, delicious, but should have been served with bread or crackers or flatbread, something, instead we had to order some. The rice bowl was flavorful.

Very good food and service with views of the waterfall. Would have given a five but my wife's chicken sandwich wasn't cooked all the way and it took a long time for them to make another one. The waiter was very good and they did comp the sandwich and gave us some free wine. Overall a good experience and will definitely go back.
