Went with the kids ranging from 12 to 2. Plenty to look at and the remains walkways were really good but not much interaction for the kids. However it was very busy so was very difficult to see the displays properly. They need to restrict the numbers more.

History is cool. And to see the baths where people came to bathe and relax is interesting. And the innovating to construct the water coming through and everything is amazing.
Nice bit of history to take in. Good exhibition of artifacts. Took about 1 1/2hrs to do the whole thing at a leisurely pace. Even broke the rules and felt the temperature of the water and can confirm it seems very pleasant for a dip
Ancient history has always fascinated me, but it's the mundane parts of history that truly capture my attention. My visit to the Roman Baths are a manifestation of this curiosity. While it seems obvious, the idea that this ancient (yet civilized) society commissioned such magnificent works as this facility, purely for the purpose of *bathing* (a concept that appears to have been mostly disregarded throughout Europe for a millennium) just staggers me.
Take my word for it, and opt in for the audio tour. You will be as deluged with information as if you stood under the gaping mouth of the aquifer that to this day supplies this tremendous installation. The view from the gallery above the baths, with the stern yet eroded gazes of Roman Emperors peering down into the murky waters below, belongs on a postcard. Fortunately, you can buy one in the gift shop.
My only unfulfilled wish is that someone, someday, publishes a book with translations of all the Roman Graffiti that has been discovered here, throughout Britannia, and other sites, such as Pompeii (seriously, if you want a laugh, Google "Pompeii graffiti", and find out just how little we have evolved over the past two thousand years).
Extremely well preserved Roman baths. Excellent recorded guided tour in several languages. Real person guide also available in English. Disabled/mobility problem access available. Very helpful stuff. The price is quite high but the visit can take several hours. Very good value.
The history around the Roman Baths is so fascinating. The baths themselves are impressive and brings some level of awe to what the Romans built, the place was originally so big with multiple buildings a temple and everything! The museum as well with the artifacts is very educational totally worth it if you have a lot of time do the audio tour and really immerse yourself in the learning. I recommend 2.5hrs if you really want to take it all in.
Super friendly staff. Child friendly place, they have push chair parking space and baby slings to borrow for free. The place is very clean and organized and they offer free audio guides in different languages.
It was my first visit & it was very impressive. The museum has a great range of artifacts & they are well displayed. The audio guide is very informative & is available in several languages including English. If you have limited mobility they have wheelchair lifts.I highly recommend you pay a visit. :-)
Quite big museum located in the original premises of the Roman baths. The visit takes two good hours with the audioguide (available in several languages), which is very helpful. The museum contains a number of stone and metal artifacts, as well as video reconstructions of what life was like in Bath during ancient Roman times. Much recommended.
I am a fan of Greek and Roman Mythology so I was fascinated to visit the Roman Baths. The bath was an ancient architecture, well preserved and maintained. The tour included an audio guide and it was nice to know more about the history, architecture and functioning of the Bath. The hot springs are truly a nature's marvel. Tickets are cheaper when bought online.
Jam packed with history and objects from the past. Too much for one visit. Facilities are good. You get a real feel for the presence of our ancestors living in and developing in the area. Both Roman and Britons.
Somewhere you should really go to when you're in Bath! Too bad the entry fee was really expensive and that the place was really crowded. It was interesting to taste the water coming from the springs.
Very impressed by the rich of information and artifacts it shows. The provided audio guide is very helpful, other displays and presentations are also very beneficial, could be busy at times.
Great place to visit. Really interesting to see and explore, so much history. It takes about 2 hours to get round. You get an audio guide and follow a 1 way route around. Some bits closed due to Covid19 but the experience doesn't suffer. It is a real must see if you come to Bath. Staff on hand to help guide you around and answer questions.
Staff was fantastic. We were 40 mins late for out time slot and they still let us in. We had about an hour before closing and staff was awesome about making sure we got through everything. Very appreciative.
Excellent experience! Definitely worth the money. The free audio guides were great and added a lot so definitely pick one up if you can. Great social distancing measures in place too and lots of hand sanitizer stations too! Couldn t recommend more!!!
Great place to visit. We had a fast track pass so skipped the wait n que. Nice place to visit. The audio guide explains all. Worth a visit if visiting bath.
Very interesting, ensure you take the hourly free guided tour to get a better insight to the Roman bathing techniques and a look at the tools and instruments used.
Great combination of history and modern technology allow visitors a glimpse into the past. From the beautiful main bath to the natural spring the experience is brought to life through the vidoes and audio guides (included in ticket price). The taste of the natural spring water at the end of the tour was nice too.
Such a multi-faceted view into history. Layer upon layer as each new epoch adds a layer. There is so much more here than i ever imagined. The romans were such incredible engineers and designers and metal workers and potters and smiths and wrights etc etc. This is rich with knowledge and well well worth a visit.
The romans bath were interesting. The audio tour is worth it but we had to rush through the tour as we came a bit later in the afternoon. I d recommend going around 3pm or so then you ll have sufficient time to go through the tour.
Unfortunately when we went only part of the bath was opened as they were undertaking renovation.
There's Roman baths also in my home town and I was very skeptical about visit Bath's also because of the high price point of the ticket. But I have to say I was really impressed! The baths are amazingly preserved and the tour has been wonderfully designed. The only negative note is that you guys need to stop making all of those knick-knacks because my wife could stop buying them :)
Excellent experience, thoughtfully presented. The story of the Baths is fascinating and the whole place acts as a link to what life was like in Roman Britain.
Great day. Visited with my partner and 3 children (9,10 and 13)... We all enjoyed... definitely "something for all the family". Great history, excellent interpretation, friendly staff, well priced gift shop with some interesting items, brilliant photo opportunities and just a nice step away from the busy city outside.
Bath itself is a historic and picturesque town. The Roman Baths are a slice of well preserved, restored history. Interesting to see how the public baths were during the Roman times. The tour is good. Explore the town later.
My 10yo kid and polish in-laws loved it, very interesting with multilanguage audio guides, there's nothing else like it in the UK. Very expensive though....
Was a fabulously interesting insight into the Romans in Britain . Amazingly well done only reason for a 4 star is part of the tour was off limits due to restoration work, no discount for this was offered.
Really well preserve baths of the ancient world . Really well set up to learn how the built ,use and develop it . there is an audio guide that travels you back to time . The temple was dedicated to Goddess Athens . Definitely worth the visit !
Fantastic trip back to the Roman times, understanding the cultural role of baths and spa and why treating yourself a day at the spa shouldn't be a guilty pleasure!
Try to ignore the crowds and imagine yourself in the first few decades of Roman Britain. The site is beautiful. Don't forget to make time for traditional tea in the facility's elegant tearoom.
