Way more interesting than I expected. Great audio tour.
It's a nice place, worth to visit, but not very exciting.
Very interesting self-guided audio tour. Well spent 2 hours.
Well preserved historical place with amateur musical performances all day
Was a bit worried at first because the price was a bit higher and the place seemed tiny from what outside but well worth the price and the tour was long and very educational. Would definitely recommend!
Probably one of the best spots in the UK for deep history, but interestingly and intricately executed. A lot of work has gone into this place to make it really engaging. Well worth the 23 pounds, and a must visit, if in England.
2000-year old Roman baths beautifully preserved at the heart of one of the most picturesque towns in England.
Great day out. A must do when visiting Bath. Free audio guide is a nice touch
The Roman Bath, Bath Abbey and shopping areas together.. all day activity... must see if you living in UK. really enjoyed our day...
Fantastic historic site. The audio tour and media displays really bring it to life.
It's a v. Nice place and remembered me every time good experience
Excellent venue with very interesting historical data
This museum is spectacular. Come early and plan to spend a few hours to learn about the baths. Make sure that you take a hand-held unit to learn about the extensive displays.
Great museum, with some very interesting history based on the ancient era of this city. Really nice to see all of the old ruins and workings. Definitely Bath's most interesting attraction
Brilliant place and not too expensive either! The history was very interesting and the place is well looked after and beautiful. If you enjoy history, this one is for you.
My only criticism would be that it was quite narrow walking around the exhibits. You get an audio guide included in the price of your ticket but it's optional. My boyfriend and I didn't take one which meant that walking around the narrow exhibits meant we were getting stuck behind loads of people who were just standing and looking at the exhibit while listening to the guide, and because it's a one way system there is no other way to go.
However, it hardly spoilt the day. Had a great time and would come again! It's also in a great location and there are plenty of other sites around and places to eat and shop.
I didn't really enjoy this. It's very well layed out with loads of info and exhibits but I found it a bit boring. The main baths and the outdoor sections are great but the rest is pretty dull. Also the day we went it was packed which didn't help as there is no control of numbers and it's difficult to see the exhibits. If you are really interested in the Roman history of UK it's worth a visit but as a casual tourist I would save your money.
It was a very interesting trip and i enjoyed learning about this place.
A place worth visiting to learn more about the roman baths. Very rich history
What a piece of history and so well maintained Well done Bath
A historical site, well presented with audio and video clips. Interesting and enjoyable place
Great use of space and we'll thought out displays to accompany the baths themselves.
Fantastic, highly recommend a visit. We visited during the Christmas festivities, taking advantage of the Christmas market - fabulous!
Great place to see the old historical baths, recommend to visited.
Great audio tour, very interesting. Lots to see and learn!
A very interesting and beautiful place! I enjoyed the tour of the roman baths - learning about the history of the baths! There were lots of people though! Really amazing views of the square and Bath cathedral! Definitely stop at the Baths if in Bath.
History. Bath Musuem itself could be better marked or have a map available.
Nice facilities. When you pay for your ticket you get audio tour and the kids get one as well. It keep my boys entertained.
Beautiful place with a fascinating history. Both tours and audio guides are available if you want to know all the details, or you can just wander around on your own for a more relaxed experience. The actors allow you to talk to characters of the era, bringing the history of the place to life. I would recommend trying to time your visit to avoid the crowds though (on weekends with nice weather it's packed), and don't forget if you're a Bath university student you can get in for free!
So interesting well worth a visit but allow plenty of time to walk around
Not cheap to get in but I guess conservation isn't free.
I enjoyed it but I doubt I'd ever need to go back.
Went to a wedding reception in the Pump Rooms. Very nice
Alot of interesting things to see, shame you can't go swimming :)
Really interesting place, you can,t miss this museum if you are in Bath
What can I say? This is somewhere you have to visit at some time in your life. So full of history. Quite expensive to go everywhere and do everything, with the baths, the tunnel tour, the stone tour, etc, but fascinating. And the guides are More
Amazing place overall. Roman architecture. Beautiful place and good gift shop.
Train tickets, $250. Plane tickets, $700. 10,000 mile roundtrip to see a broken down old pool with green water, PRICELESS!
Looking back at the history. Well preserved. Very educational. Good place for photo opportune.
Must see stop on your trip to bath. Get there early because the buses unload at 10:30ish
Well maintained natural hot spring bath since the Roman era. It can take around 1hr to go around. Advise to book online to get 10% discount rather than walk in.
Very interesting, plenty to see and learn. Probably a little over-priced.
It's good.. you can purchase savour ticket of 22.5 pounds to visit Roman bath, Victoria's art gallery, National Fashion Museum
Loved museum and lots of information about the Romans and hot springs
heritage, the self explanatory guides the experience
Really enjoyed learning more about the history of bath.
The roman baths are easy being in the town for you everyone to get to.
There is disabled access
Too expensive,not much to see,just a muddy water pool,and mouldy rocks/bricks.
Definitely not worth it,don't do this or you'll regret it.
Top place to visit in Bath. Incredible history and well preserved site. I was quite taken by what there is here to discover and explore for a very reasonable entrance fee. Very easy access and friendly and helpful staff. A true assets to the city of Bath and England. Incredible.
2 hours amazing bath session. They have got outdoor and indoor pool also sauna and more on other floors.
Worth seeing, but this is a very well developed tourist site. If you like that sort of thing, do it.
Was an amazing experience, well worth the money. Was much bigger than expected. Mind blown!
Amazing 2000 year history under your very feet. Well presented exhibits, good informative portable audio guide (included in price). Takes about 2 hours to see most of it (listening to audio guide) so be ready to stand up for that long. Perhaps some facilities half way round would help.
Amazing audio tour, we spend an entire afternoon going through all the parts. Well worth the money.
Incredible preservation of a wonderful historical site, absolutely astounding that the main bath and sacred spring are still able to be seen as they were in the Roman age. There's a lot of content to cover in the museum and in the audio guide (though included in your ticket price you don't have to follow it strictly) so it's best to assign a few hours (perhaps 3+) to peruse the site. Only gripe is the way some artifacts have been displayed in the museum - if you're expecting documentation on where the items were found etc. you'll be sorely disappointed.
Wow. If you're a visitor to Bath and you're interested in history, if you want to step into a time machine and experience life in an ancient era and learn about society, architecture and the way Britain was shaped by the Romans then you must visit the Baths. All I can describe about the feeling is that you realise you're tracing the footsteps of a long gone civilisation and just how much they left in their wake. There's plenty to see, just make sure you don't go in too near to closing time as you'll be rushing through and missing a lot of the big museum inside. Don't forget to try the Bath water, the famous natural tonic, if you have the stomach for it.
After watching so many films showing how people bathed in those "swimming pool" styled tubs during Roman Empire era, we were so very excited to see one in real world. Very beautiful architecture. There were girls dressed in those old style clothes during our visiting, which made us wondering if we had stepped back into the history .. One photo.
Great place to visit! Learnt alot from it and was beautiful!
An amazing experience that I've done with a number of partners and friends at this point. Its educational, interesting and good value for money!
The audio tour is excellent and I 100% recommend that you follow it, even if it isn't usually your thing.
Probably one of the top tourist attractions in the UK
Very good two hours spent wondering around the baths. Good audio guide with one aimed at kids too. Think shop has got smaller but this is the times we live in.
Good value for money. no other place like it in the UK.
We thought this was brilliant. Wasn't sure about the price at first. But it included the audio tour and there was also a childrens' version. But even better was the Bill Bryson audio tour - my favourite author! There was loads to see. Genuine Roman artifacts, many not hidden behind glass. Thoughtful displays and cleverly done so you can walk through the Roman site.
A very popular destination for tourists which means lots of people, long lines and kitche shops.
A really cool stop due to the history and architecture but the actual "water" in the bath looked more like mountain dew or slurm but it definitely wasn't water.
Beautiful, historic place with plenty to see. We enjoyed the audio guide and the layout of the museum. It was definitely more than you expect to see and we agree, at the moment the stairs could be difficult for some. The lifts appeared to be in construction. We definitely enjoyed the water taster at the end.
I really enjoyed visiting this beautiful historical building. Not only is the complex impressive but also the service and maintenance is remarkable. The ticket price includes free audio guide which was fantastic and drinking spring water! Also there are free guided tours every hour. I recommend this historical building to anyone who is interested in history and architecture.
The Romans were amazing - and so is the way the baths have been restored and displayed. Very visitor friendly.
