I'm a bit biased, as worked there for 12 years. The Ritz is the quintessential answer to the finest service in South OC. Just ask anyone there about there credo. It shows in the process and production. There's no place like it.

This is my annual fall vacation spot- and for good reason. The best view, the best service with a friendly staff, and an overall luxurious experience. The Ritz-Carlton in Laguna is the closest thing to heaven on earth- I always have the most wonderful memories here.

Recently stayed at this incredible property and was reminded of how amazing this Hotel is and it s unique breathtaking location.
We stayed there to celebrate our 30th anniversary and in the middle of covid, we felt the Resort did a great job of following the covid protocol the best they could. We were disappointed the live musician has not returned to the terrace at 180blu as of yet but fingers crossed they bring Ryan Heflin back and you will sit out there each night taking in his great music and the view and wonderful attentive service they provide. The grounds are kept up well and the service is what you would expect from the Ritz Carlton portfolio. The rooms are getting ready for an upgrade I hear and that will be the icing on the cake and reason to return...in the mean time..you must stay here and treat yourself and enjoy this slice of Heaven!

Stayed there last month, struggled with whether or not to post because it feels a bit bratty to complain about a Ritz- here are my thoughts:
1) Service: feels super-corporate and actually the people are overall not helpful. (Exception: the cleaning woman who zipped my dress because my husband could not)
2) The Facility: feels dated and a bit cheap. Views are gorgeous, but leads down to a public beach. (Again, this is a Ritz...so just expected more).
3) Food: some bright spots, but mostly felt like generic catering food.
4) The Spa: BY FAR THE LEAST POSITIVE EXPERIENCE FOR ME.
*The Staff:
-Only positive was the friendly, handsome guy with dreads in the fitness room who answered questions and helped me out.
-My Therapist was sweet, but the service was super-meh (please see below)
-My friend and I were doing yoga on the LARGE lawn behind the building, (I am a certified instructor), the hotel's instructor came over to me and asked if I was "with the hotel". (Um, my husband's company was sponsoring a long weekend there...so you bet I was a guest lady). She asked me to move because apparently my doing yoga with yf friend was "distracting". (She was working with literally two people and they were at least 100 feet away). Additionally, We were also told that we could practice there by other staff members. My friend was gobsmacked.
-I decided to brush off the yoga incident as I relaxed in the waiting room where the therapist for my service was supposed to pick me up. There were two other Women in the waiting room, as well.

A therapist came up to me and said "I'll bet your you is Aisha!". Ummmm...it is not, I am brown and guess what color the other two Women were. (Note: some caucasians have "exotic" names, as well).

*The Service:
-The Laguna experience was a complete RIP OFF. Just a bunch of oils slathered on, only one was effective, a barely there massage and a collagen mask that I could have purchased at CVS. The Facial did NOT INCLUDE EXTRACTIONS- really, for $500+ dollars?

BTW, I casually mentioned the Yoga and Aisha incidents to an assistant manager there who was nice who said that she would give me an "add on". Turns out, it was the limp, 30 second hot stone running down my legs that had zero effect at all.

This Spa also does not carry some of the same excellent merchandise as other, MUCH better Ritz spas.

Never returning.

We stayed 2 nights at the Ritz-Carlton at Laguna Niguel and it was so pleasant and relaxing. The service was wonderful and we enjoyed glasses of champagne upon arrival. They also upgraded us to a room with a view of the ocean at no additional cost that made the experience exceptional. The coastline views were beautiful and we hope to make it back to stay again.

The service was terrible! My room was ready only at 6PM, I asked for an extra bad and I needed to request it 5 times, no service at the pool.
I m Marriott Ambassador and I gotta say that it was one of the worst experience ever that I ve had in a Marriott property.

I would highly recommend getting married at The Ritz Carlton. I'm a Live Wedding Painter and I have had the honored to do a couple weddings here. They have such an accommodating staff and beautiful location overlooking the ocean. I will never get tired of Painting there.

We checked in here this Thursday to start our staycation to celebrate our anniversary. The Hotel staffs were fantastic and friendly. Upon hearing that were there for our anniversary, they upgraded us to a partial ocean view room. The view was spectacular during the day and at night.

This hotel is one of the best resorts in Southern California. It has exceeded my expectation in terms of the facility, location and services. Since it s situated on top of a bluff on the Pacific Ocean, you can imagine the amazing view it produces. The hotel has made many amenities to provide comfort of viewing of the ocean and the sunset. You can relax under the palm trees or just sipping a drink in front of the panoramic windows watching people surfing below the cliff. When you re hungry, you can have a seat in the balcony and order your favorite food for lunch while soaking in the California sun. At night we can sit in one of the chairs in front of a fire pits to watch the sun to go down.

Our daughter joined us for lunch and went swimming afterward in one of the several pools in the hotel. The water was bit cold but the service at the pool was excellent. The people at the pool were very attentive and provided us cold water to cool us down.

The room we stayed in has an ocean view. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom has all the toiletries we would expect from a five star hotel. The hotel also provided slippers for our comfort. We can just sit in the balcony and enjoy the view of the ocean. At night, we had a amazing sunset view.

Because of the pandemic, we didn t get to enjoy the foods from their famous restaurants such as the Raya restaurant. But the foods at 180blu were very good too. The hotel also takes preventive measures against covid 19 seriously. You can see sanitizer stations everywhere and all staffs wear masks. In the room, the hotel provided a safety kit with masks and sanitizer. We ll be when the COVID-19 is over to truly enjoy the full features of this hotel.

From the moment we arrived to check out this resort, it was 6 star from the time we arrived in the car to registration with very helpful Jess. The service and Facilities could not have been better. The staff gave the impression of being very proud to be helpful and courteous. The only Hotel chain that comes close to this kind of service is the famous Canadian Pacific hotels in Canada, but I felt Ritz of Dana Point even outdid even them. The scenery and location were spectacular. The beach Butlers were so helpful in every way making the time on the sand the best i can remember in Years. Considering the time and cost of going to remote islands, i personally felt this in every way a better deal for Family for a nice getaway. Thank You for a great time! Sincerely,Michael Ferril

Such a fun weekend getaway!! We were upgraded to a ocean facing suite and don't want to stay in any other part of the resort in the future. We had breathtaking sunset views every evening. The staff was nice at check in and at the different service areas including the cafe, pool and housekeeping staff. We got some great recommendations from the kind cafe staff. The grounds are gorgeous. The rooftop area overlooking the ocean is a great rest spot for lunch. If inside is your preference, there are panorama windows that still capture the beauty of the Pacific Ocean. The pools are nice and relaxing but quite underwhelming. We enjoyed playing tennis on the property. Their walking/running trail connects to a community trail through a neighborhood/golf course that also allows biking. My wife did the complimentary yoga and enjoyed stretching in a peaceful area with priceless ocean views. When we need an escape from the city, we will definitely keep this Laguna Nigel location in mind.

the re-do of this hotel can only be classified as "a disaster." the owneres took a perfectly lovely hotel, and re-did the common areas with ugly furniture. they also removed some wonderful paintings in favor of low-class art. and they closed the club grill (can't understand why). obviously, ownership doesn't have a clue about how to run a first-class hotel. if you want to stay in a 1st class hotel in laguna niguel, try the st. regis (they also have stonehill tavern...fabulous food, and the best sunday brunch in socal...at motif).

Ate at the Raya. Service was great and the food was great. Will come back when my piggy bank grows fat enough to accommodate a lifestyle of luxury, pampering, and waiters watching you eat until you get up to go to the restroom at which point they take your napkin from your chair and refold it, placing it neatly back on the table for you. A little strange, but I guess some people are into that.

Beautiful grounds, extremely helpful staff, and despite the slightly dated rooms they are comfortable and we'll adorned. Yes it is definitely expensive but if you're in the mood to splurge I highly recommend it.

Went for a couple of drinks to celebrate our friends' 1st year anniversary. Waitress was helpful, provided a personal experience and even gave our friends a personal gift for the special occasion. Breath taking views to watch the sun set.
