ordered a bottle of prosecco and birthday decoration for the room when we were to celebrate a birthday, I asked for 3 days I was there to be sure that they didn't miss it anyway, so they missed it and I am greeted by an unpleasant reception staff who only say that oh we happened to miss it and ask me why i get angry? never book in at this hotel unpleasant staff, you do not get what you paid for and in addition the breakfast is the worst I have ever experienced since everything has been out for 3 days and the hotel blames them for not having it too much people!

It has a very good location less than 5 minutes from the museum area and about 15 from downtown and Liverpool one. Breakfast somewhat sparse but rich and friendly attention. The only thing I did not like is that each room has a small community room with 3 rooms and you hear every time your 'neighbors' enter and leave the central hall. It didn't generate much security for me.

Stayed here using my Best Western loyality points and found it to be fine.
Little noisy at night but what I expected on a weekend in a city centre.
Chris on the reception at night was lovely and very funny.
Would stay again on points, not sure I would pay money for the hotel though.

The premises are very really nice, it's clean and well equipped. But we still had a few problems. From 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., our dear neighbor, who is very alcoholic, knocking on that door so that his girlfriend opens the door for him (of course this one did not want to since it lasted 2 hours), and the no intervention of the employees despite the book. In addition the day before I asked, using a small card that hangs on the door, a breakfast in bed to please my girlfriend for her birthday. (I ordered it for 9:30 am. For information, breakfast in the dining room ends at 10 am). At 10am I start to get impatient and decided to leave my room to find out what is going on, opening the door I find my famous little piece of paper on the floor (joke of my dear neighbor? In any case my card was good hooked). We leave the room and we smell a very strong cigarette smell coming from the neighbor's room. We went down to the reception and tell our story and here is the famous answer which for me made them lose 2 stars:
"ah good? It's a pity, you were unlucky, good day"

Lamentable ......

I have stayed at the Richmond on business for a couple of nights each week over most of the last two-plus years.

Comfortable room, great bath/shower, good food, excellent free wifi. And proper milk in the fridge! I recommend the Richmond burger - but make sure you are really hungry before you order it. Especially with the bacon and cheese.

Most importantly, the people there are just so good. Professional - I've seen them handle the pressure of a full party at reception with efficiency and good humour. And yes, you can see the newbies learning from their more experienced colleagues.

Lots of them now just feel like friends. Too many to name. Some have moved on, but their successors keep the same vibe and friendliness. Something that really matters when you are replacing home with hotel every week. The incorporation into BW didn't change anything obvious. Still the same feel to the place.

Only downs? Don't rely on a wake-up call if you have a train/plane to catch. And hash browns don't stay crisp in a chafing dish!

Excellent city centre hotel. We arrived early but we were checked in by a very pleasant female member of staff on reception. The room was upgraded to a suite. This was very well equipped with seating area including a sofa and chair , a kitchen area with fridge, complimentary water and milk and a good choice of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and 2 large flat screen tvs! We ate in the bar/ brasserie on our first night and the meal was excellent with a varied choice to suit most people's taste. Breakfast was a good selection too although at peak times busy which is quite common in many hotels.

But that s it again
- Mold, terrible! On the wall, in the joints, felt everywhere
- Smell & no way to open the window
- dirty floors

So no, we will not be back - we checked out immediately!

Stayed here on Saturday night and the room was perfect. The wifi once on the 4th floor is really weak. However I want to give a shout out to Kevin I think his name was. He was working the front desk from around 4pm on Saturday and was so friendly, helpful and is the main reason for all 5 stars. If all hotels had front desk staff like him i'd be a very happy traveller.

Superb value for money, a few things that would make it stand out from the crowd... we took a 2 bed apartment...everything you could want
....apart from a mirror where you could plug the hairdryer in and see yourself - no full length mirror in the whole apartment. Lighting poor, no lamps = no atmosphere. Great space, could be amazing, if only i had a couple of hundred free quid to sort it out.... no windows opening out, balcony doors locked no key available... nervous about fire risk as sheer drop outside, no lamps, no kitchen lights.... easy to fix. Staff fantastic, really great food, nice atmosphere in restaurant and bar, parking a little surprise extra.... good could be Great!!!

Loved it!

Close to center, spacious rooms.
Could do with a little attention in the bathroom a little bit delapidated.
Also pictures online misleading

Excellent customer service not an absolute immaculate hotel but for the price and tge suite we stayed in was fantastic. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and the location is fine a 5 minute walk to the centre.

Very pleasant stay in the hotel.
I have to say from reception staff, breakfast experience to room facilities...everything was superb including price (room and breakfast)
Great standards of cleanliness and central location.
Will be definitely coming back to this hotel.

The reception area is clean and welcoming, though once you get to the rooms, things start to show their age. Walls are scuffed, beaten, and discolored, while ceilings are cracked and have several water stains. The bath was modern and lovely, and having a kitchen was very useful. The area is great for walking to the city centre, and we even managed to walk back from Anfield though that was a bit of a stretch. That said, there is a drop-in centre next door, so nighttime got interesting.

Not at all enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It is no where near to a premier collection. The toilet door wouldn't close, toilet seat was broken, air condition wasn't good enough, one of the window curtain wouldn't open and lots of other things which where wrong. There were no pictures of balcony on the website and I was wondering why was that. But now I realise, because none of the balconies have any good view which is why you haven't uploaded pictures. It was absolutely pointless to pay for a balcony. We din't even sit for a min as there was nothing to enjoy apart from looking at other balconies which were absolutely next to us. You call this room a junior suite, but it is nothing more than a 1 tiny bedroom apartment. The furniture was absolutely cheap and I was shocked to realise that there wasn't even 1 night lamp in the room. The bed was horrible, so uncomfortable that we had pain in the morning. Will never ever return to this hotel and quite frankly I don't think I'll be looking to stay in any other premier collection hotel by BW as they have the same standard.

As a frequent user of BW hotels, potentially 65 nights this year, I found the Richmond somewhat disappointing. The overall appearance was tired, in need of redecorating and cleanliness was not up to the standard I have come to expect. Car More

I spent a day here in a workshop with work colleagues. The facilities were great, food was of a good standard. The hotel is right in the centre of the city, giving it good access to transport connections.

This was our first time in Liverpool
And the first time in a best Western hotel
The Richmond hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the main centre of Liverpool
Beautiful styled hotel with around 160 bedrooms
All of the staff at the hotel were very helpful and very professional
The food was very enjoyable
The bedroom we stayed in was spacious with a very large comfortable bed
Would definitely recommend and stay in the hotel again
Also Lime street train station is around an 8 minute walk which was very useful

Lovely room. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfasts excellent. Only criticism is that hotel would benefit from having a lounge for residents instead of having to sit in restaurant to socialize.

Great location, good price for what must be converted flats that are now quite decent rooms. Didn't eat here but it's a 5 min walk to the centre and a nice hotel with a good parking arrangement.

We booked this hotel as it looked amazing on the Internet, we even paid extra as we thought it would be a top notch hotel and we wanted to relax and have some family time away.

We went shopping as check in wasn't til 3pm, came back was told where our room was and went up. Floor one. The room was very small with high ceilings. At first it was an OK reaction, then we started noticing things, the bed was uncomfy they had like a mattress protector but it wasn't Underneath and the sheets didn't fit the bed, the cushions was as thin as a pancake too, we got a small dbl bed for three of us to share, the TV volume is capped which is fine but when they have parties on both nights we couldn't hear the TV. Even when you try and change the channel you have to maneuver so that you point the controller through a cut out piece in the TV picture frame. The carpets were dirty on the stairs and outside our room 123. My little boy was rudely pushed by a DRUNK lad on our exit, and again by a disgruntled man on the phone. Its not acceptable. This hotel is not family orientated at all. The cleaning crew knocked on our door at half 5 in the afternoon to clean the room... Seriously... The good things were, the WiFi, hot water and concierge.

Me and my husband stayed here for 1 night. The accommodation was to a very high standard. The reception staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. This place is ideally located for Matthews street.

This is not my definition of a 4 star hotel.... the window in my room was broken I could not close it properly. Common rooms like corridors and stairs were dirty. The spa is defenetly closed (how can you close a spa when you claim to be a 4 star)... if you want a real 4 star hotel in Liverpool just don't go there... otherwise if you just want a place to stay with the minimum comfort, it will be ok.
