I love the events held in the space especially KCUR's but I must say that the service is horrible, they staff is surly and so unfriendly that I feel like I am inconveniencing them every single time I am there.

I just wish that the owners and managers were appreciative and welcoming so I would want to come back.

Food was really good and the bartenders were very friendly and helpful when I asked if I could switch for something I could eat even though I dislike modifying ordered food it makes me feel like a PITA I didn't here at all! Plus the band Syml was amazing Thanks Miranda for wanting to go!!! We might have gotten a descent picture by the end of the night!

Came for the live music & was surprised by the great food as well. The first Sunday of almost every month, a great avant-garde jazz band called The People's Liberation Big Band of Greater Kansas City plays here.

We saw Aurelio Voltaire in concert here. The staff was nice, the venue was beautiful, and we had a great time. We ordered a pizza and it was really good although it did take them a bit to cook it.

The balcony is great and we had a blast. For being as small as it was the sound was amazing! Food is very pricey ($30 for 2 people, no drinks) but will definitely try to see some more shows here

Came down to see a student of mine perform her song. Website said tickets were $20. No mention of different pricing day of show. I took two $20 bills with me for admission. Got there at 5:20. Doorman said $25. I said website advertised $20. Doorman said "Producer changed admission price right before the show. My friend and I turned around and left. NOT COOL!

This is a great concert venue! It is easy to locate (it's actually in a strip mall) and there is ample, well-lit parking. Being in the strip mall is great because there's a Half Price Books where I was able to browse before the show started. The venue is nice because it actually has a little seating and someone who knows what they're doing set up the stage and sound system. I've been to two concerts here and both have sounded amazing. The drinks are good and reasonably priced and the service is good. I've only had french fries here, but they were good as well. The restrooms are the only drawback as they are small and not really adequate when it's a large concert. However, that is a minor flaw in an otherwise terrific venue. I highly recommend it!

I love this place, and not just because I have known the owners since they were kids in a band and I worked at The Grand Emporium, and the GE has been gone since 2003. So Shawn and Steve opened the recordBar, complete with the posters of past shows, but with a full service kitchen and menu of way above average bar food with healthy options. Also, they are the home of the original Sunday Brunch Bloody Mary Bar.

I love recordBar. I loved the old location a lot. The old location had a nice big parking lot and an easily accessible bar. The new location has a better stage area and a nice upstairs balcony overlooking the stage but there's just street parking and the bar is a little more crowded it seemed. Also, maybe the acoustics aren't as good because my ears were ringing for days after the last show I went to. Bring earplugs. Overall a great venue. They do a good job of booking good acts

Doesn't serve food like site said but the foodie food truck was outside and the food was really good there with great prices but the recard bar its self had Few beer selections and only one on tap and very little seating.

Good drinks and great music. An employee accidentally bumped into my wife and spilled her drink, he quickly wiped up the mess and proceeded to get my wife a new drink for her without question.

Just saw The Score here and I have to say this is an absolutely great venue for a show! Very intimate setting so there are no bad seats. The acoustics are actually really good also, which is a problem I've found that other smaller venues run into. It's super easy to get to and just a short distance from the power and light district in Kansas City MO so there are a ton of options for pre and/or post show fun. Definitely worth the 5 hour drive!!

Saw lovelytheband live here after winning free tickets through 96.5 The Buzz! The venue was very clean and the employees where very nice. There is a small patio for smoking and a large foot area inside very close to the band. Also a very long bar!

We had a lot of fun. We were there for a non profit event to benefit the Midwest innocence project. There were 3 really great local bands playing and the venue was really nice. Parking wasn't bad and I was surprised by that. The drink selection is pretty robust. I didn't dive into the wine list, but the back bar is deep.

Fantastic venue to experience live music. As an added bonus you can catch all kinds of acts that will be huge (or big enough to get radio play) before they break thanks to the deft ear of some ninja audiophile

I really enjoyed this venue. It is intimate and spacious enough to not be crushed when a band is playing. The upstairs also looks really cool, but I suggest standing downstairs for a better view of who is on stage. The menu looks delicious, but if you are there during a concert they do serve the food but there are no tables since they clear them out so it is standing room only. I googled pictures of the location before we went so we thought there would be tables and had planned on eating there before the concert. But when we got there all of the tables have been put away so eating was kind of impossible. Which is a bummer because the menu looked excellent. Drinks are also priced well so you don't have to go broke after buying tickets. Despite the crowd and how busy it was, the bartenders were always pleasant and it never felt like they were too busy to deal with customers in a friendly, attentive way.

Just like the original recording Bar. Only improved. Amazing sound. A super professional staff. One of the best places to see a show in Kansas City. All of the grit of the original venue in a new bright and shiny package. If a band is there that you want to see DO NOT HESITATE to but tickets. You can be assured of a great time!
