Different feel than the old location in Westport. Not a great beer selection but reasonable cocktail prices and friendly staff make this a place I will return to. A more open feeling that is less intimate than some concert spots of comparable size.

recordBar has become my favorite live music venue. It's and intimate setting which is great for smaller shows. It can get crowded, but there are a few tables. I haven't tried the food, but I hear good things from everyone. The bar staff is friendly and fast, and they have a great drink selection for a music venue.

Neat place, but when I went to see Penny and Sparrow, the audio was so bad, the duo choose to sing without microphones on the fly. Plus, the show seemed over sold as we could not even find a place where we could see the stage. An audio overhaul as well as is considering the allowed amount of people through the door may help.

Hey so I'm attending Reeve Carney's show in November and have never been to the bar so I'm wondering how good 'gednam' section is? Its what was on my tickets in the email I received. If anyone can answer my question, I'd appreciate it. I want the best seats I can get.

My review is just based on outdoors appearance and drive accessibility. I arrived for an evening concert that was sold out. That's not a total bad experience because it means in KC has great fans. . But the building is easy to find and close to a cookie m couple of well traveled roads. Maybe next time I'll actually get my tickets online and review the inside.

The Record Bar is a small concert venue in Kansas City within walking distance of major local hotels and other events venues and restaurants of downtown KC. If you stay at a hotel like the Courtyard by Marriott Kansas City Downtown/Convention Center, you re within just a few blocks of easy walking to the venue. The venue has a small outdoor seating area which turned out to be fortuitous as I waited under the awning out of the drizzle early before the doors opened. The door staff were incredibly friendly and efficient in checking IDs, issuing wristbands, and checking tickets really, some of the nicest and engaged security folks I ve encountered at a venue.

The atmosphere is wonderful, whether you're there to perform or just have a fun night out with friends. Like most establishments, inside staff can be a little standoffish once it gets pretty busy.

Staff was rude, told me cash only. I think it was because I wasent dressed to the 9's. That's cool I can think of alot of other places with a better vibe! Tried to see lovely the band that night.

Delicious food, great staff, and the best concert sound of any indoor venue in KC. Also the best corned beef I've ever had. The only drawback is that it can be difficult to find a parking spot in the immediate vicinity.

Enjoy this place. However monitors really block view upstairs. Love atmosphere. Pizza had good flavor, beer could have been colder, need wait staff upstairs or open the bar upstairs! No parking kind of a drag since last location had so much. Overall fun place reminds you of college bars smaller and fun! Very nice staff. Worst part not enough seating.

Nice venue, seen MILD HIGH CLUB last night and it was nice... Easy parking, clean venue, lax inside/outside rules, my only complaint is the urinals in the men's restroom are uncomfortably close to each other... Like extremely close where your foot is touching the other guy's foot, and your not trying too... So close in fact, I couldn't even stare straight ahead at the wall while peeing, I had to tilt my head at a 45 degree angle facing the opposite side of the guy standing next to me in order to keep the awkwardness down to a mid-range level. Other than that, great place!

Bar none, the best sounding room to hear live music (or perform it) in Kansas City. Great food, particularly the pizzas. Appetite for Destruction is my favorite, but you can have them build to order or select from their re-purposed album menus. Friendly staff that are always fun to talk to and great management, booking and music. I love this place!

Nice place. Friendly atmosphere. Strong supporters of local musicians. Tasty food
I would like to see more seating availability, or more floor space in front of the stage for standing room, but I understand the space is limited.

We went here for lunch since they just opened up the place for lunch. It seems like not a whole lot of people know about it but as far as the food goes hands down impressive. I am giving it 4 stars for now since i did not have the chance to see this place in real action for live music but it sure is a place to check out for lunch.

Saw the Oh Hello's here. Pretty cool looking venue. Small enough so that there are no bad "seats". Speaking of seats, there are very few. There are scattered tables around but unless you arrive early enough to snag one, plan on standing for a concert. I didn't try any food, so I can't comment on that.

Impressive Small Concert Venue, Perfect KC Location. I was surprised to see a variety of seating options around the open dance floor on the main level and some seating on a balcony above as someone who likes to sit during concerts, I really appreciated the seating. Hint: the seating is limited, so get there early to stake your claim. The stage is small, but the combination of stage, floorspace, and balcony created a nice, intimate space to view the band. I went to see The Church, a band I ve seen live other times in other venues and cities. The staging and sound at the Record Bar were the best I ve witnessed for this band. There was a long bar with very busy, efficient, and skilled bartenders I really appreciated the professionalism and hustle of these staff. There were also some staff roaming to collect glasses, plates, and trash very friendly and efficient and a nice touch. If you want food, you order/pay at the bar, get a buzzer, and go to the food window when your buzzer goes off very efficient process for a club. The menu and the food were pretty good I was surprised at the quality. Overall, the prices were extremely good; food, drinks, and tickets were reasonably and accurately priced. The crowd was young, friendly, and were by-in-large there just to have a good time a good vibe at this venue. Overall, I rate Record Bar as a terrific value for small club intimacy, fantastic staff, well run processes/services, great combo of seating/stage/lighting, good food, and great prices. I ll be looking forward for my next opportunity to attend a concert at the Record Bar. Highly recommended.

They always have good acts. Turns out the food is good too! Greek Chicken is some choice cuisine. Staff was nice. But not too nice. Just right nice. Seems to be some regulars too. Repeat customers are testament to a healthy ecosystem any good the venue.

Awesome friendly staff and the venue is just as welcoming. Fun place to watch live music and the Hawaiian pizza is fantastic. Parking in this area can be difficult and is definitely the worst part of the experience.

Went to see stand up here. Not only was there plenty of comfortable seating, but there were numerous seating options. We chose a bench with table so we could enjoy some delicious queso and fries. I will definitely be checking their website for more shows I'm interested in.

They would get five stars if there was any parking nearby. The place is designed to provide great Acoustics for live music, and live music is there all the time. It's a little hard to get to the bar, but that's because there was a big crowd for the music.

Hadn't been to the record bar since it moved from old Westport. Wow what a difference. This new place is great. Saw a good show and had some decently priced drinks. Everything seems upgraded!

Came here for the first time from Arkansas to see Pinback. Very nice space, great show experience. Also I heard the PA playing Negativland when I first entered the venue, so that's a plus.

Wonderful atmosphere and beer selection. We went to see a show, it was a great venue for people that are interested in actually listening to the music. The food was very good and they had a unique selection. I can't wait to go back and try something new!

Fantastic intimate venue with great views from anywhere. Love feeling so close to the band. Good selection of craft beer and other drinks. Haven't tried the food yet but would like to at some point.

I'll jump at any chance to see any show here!
