A true hidden gem just across the street from the Montage. It feels like you are in a hidden canyon, away from the windy beach, with a nine hole golf course, a great pool atmosphere and a fabulous restaurant. Highly recommend

Perfect location for a secluded getaway, and an even better spot if you plan to golf. The resort is a quick 5 minute walk to the beach and close to hiking trails as well. The rooms were clean and feature their own outdoor area to lounge.

Overhyped neglected place. $700 creek view room (see pictures) a rat hole of a sewer pipe, nothing with creek to do, deceptive advertising and expensive as hell for the hole it is. No wine glasses or any glass in room. Would not recommend. Full of ants . All over ants.

UPDATE 3/3/2021
I contacted the email on the hotels response to my review the same day, and didn t hear anything back. Appears they just want to appear helpful but really don t care about anything and just here to deceptively steal your money. Nasty.

I played golf at Ben Browns and had lunch following and it was really nice. Course is a fun, par 32 layout with some tough par 3s. Set back in the canyon it is a pretty layout that is enjoyable. The restuarant was terrific, offering a good selection of beer on tap and a variety of sandwiches and entrees for lunch. Great atmosphere, reasonably priced, good service. I recommend giving it a try!

Was here for a wedding and spent the night. Stayed in a 1-bedroom suite. Beds were small (2 doubles), very uncomfortable, and the place just looked like it has been neglected for a few years.

Harvest Restaurant at the Ranch at Laguna Beach is our new favorite restaurant in the Laguna Beach area. We stayed two days and we ate there for breakfast twice and dinner once. It was absolutely outstanding. The rest of the trip we wished we had eaten there all week long, and every meal we had paled in comparison to our meals at Harvest. I highly recommend anything on the menu really, but the smoked bourbon cinnamon roll that is topped with bacon is out of this world. The service was phenomenal as well. You would never know they had just opened. The chef there is an artist.

We got a 2-story 2 bedroom suite which overlooked the pool; building 4. I really liked the decor inside. Really liked the 1/2 bath downstairs near the dining area. Pool area was nice and had a jacuzzi as well. Up on main level where the dining is has outdoor patio overlooking the golf course which is nice to mingle with other guests.
The only negative I will say that the tablets dont seem to be useful.
We would put our Room Service request when we leave and return and never done and had to call each time for service.
Another one that was probably the most annoying was In-Room dining. After some time we'd check the tablet then see a new message saying that it was delivered when in-fact in never was and had to call and find out where the order was. The other was for 2 days straight on breakfast orders I'd have to call numerous times as they'd not have our room number or some other reason.
Also, on the kids breakfast menu it says scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage. Each time we had it served on an English muffin. There is an egg sandwich option on kid menu as well and we've ordered both and received the same thing. Also, preparation was noted each time that wasn't prepared consistently the same either. First breakfast was good the second not really...even though same dishes ordered both of those days. So I'd say all-in-all ....we'd come again if we are in town but the in-dining // tablet needs major fine tuning.

We love your hotel but this weekend was very difficult. My wife and I brought a couple along with us, a couple that I am trying to build a business relationship with, and they had a very negative experience in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Their smoke detector was chirping at 3 AM, and when they finally got around to calling the front desk, your maintenance department could not fix the issue and our associates were issued to a new room sometime around 4 AM. Needless to say, this put a real damper on their entire weekend and therefore on ours as well.

Feeling very deflated.

What an awesome place! Went for brunch had the most incredible cinnamon roll with bacon! The breakfast burrito was delicious and every other dish at our table was excellent. Our server Manny was very personable and did an excellent job. The view in the canyon was beautiful and I even found a new golf course to try, highly, highly recommend.

By far one of my favorite hotels ever! The service was amazing, the food was amazing, and it s a short walk from the beach. The rooms are very nice and peaceful. There are so many amenities and activities. Also the hotel is very earth-conscious which I absolutely love! There are amazing views and it s has a very relaxing vibe. Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning often! So happy we found this place!

For a supposedly 5-star luxury hotel the experience was disappointing. Started out great. Valets and front desk were great. After that great first impression it went down hill from there. No assistance in getting luggage to the room, my room had no view and it looks like very few other rooms have any sort of view. Room valets never filled the ice bucket. At the pool, they were out of towels they did they would get some soon. I showed the attendant where I was sitting. He never brought me a towel, layer when I went back he said they had received some but were out again. Mind you the waitress was pushing over priced drinks. My suggestion of you go to Laguna Beach, stay somewhere on the beach.

We had another amazing experience at The Ranch. We are Laguna Beach locals and enjoy getting away from the summer crowds. The atmosphere is relaxing, a lot tables on the patio overlooking the golf course while enjoying the ocean breeze. The restaurant is wide open and comfortable. The food is delicious and affordable. We will be back again

On our sons 40th birthday my wife and I gave him and his family a resort vacation and they choose The Ranch this past weekend. He and his wife enjoyed a round of golf, his two little girls played in the Volleyball sand and were fascinated by the Raptor show on Saturday. We joined them on Saturday and got to experience their beautiful accommodations, one of your two story units, then we had an early dinner at Harvest. The food was great and the service exceptional. Our server Phillip was outstanding, so friendly, and he gave our two grand daughters a stuffed reindeer. My wife and I live nearby and we plan to visit Harvest and your outdoor cocktail lounge as often as possible.

Stop by here on accident didn't really know whereabouts trying to make a u-turn rolled up on a very nice golf/country club, what the hay walked up grabbed a cup of joe(which was very good) very pleasant employees very nice community golf course it was 9am and overcast, plopped in a seat, not a big golfer but hell enjoyed nice surroundings..

Our stay at The Ranch far exceeded our expectations. We arrived at 3pm on a Friday, check in wasn't until 4pm, but our room was already ready. There isn't self parking available to check in, but the wonderful valet staff (talking about you Andrew) will pull your car forward and have it waiting for you when you find out where your room is. The check in process is quick and pleasant, the room RFID room keys are not plastic, but bamboo, a nice touch. We reserved a creek view suite, the view from the room was amazing, between the fish in the bubbling creek, and the red tailed hawks overhead, we had our morning coffee and tea outside every day. I highly recommend the garden tour on Saturday as well, reservations are required. Louis, the Gardener, was extremely informative about everything he produces, and most of the produce is used in the meals made on property. The food at Harvest is also epic. I'm a pretty slim guy, but between the Wagyu steak, many seafood dishes, half chicken, I powered through all of my meals even though I was full. It's THAT good. Wait staff is amazing, always accommodating to your every need. I also highly recommend room service for breakfast. You actually order it on a tablet in your room, no phone call necessary. My wife's egg whites were more airy and fluffier than she's ever had, and we've stayed at some amazing places. Just an FYI, there is absolutely zero cell phone service, you have to connect to the free WiFi to make calls. My wife's phone worked great for calls on WiFi, mine did not at first, but Anthony at the front desk is a genius. I'm an IT guy and couldn't get my phone to work for calls over WiFi, Anthony gave me some advice and it worked perfectly after that. Honestly though, I'd recommend enjoying the dead zone and decompressing without a phone for a few days. My wife came down with a cold about two hours before we arrived. The Amazing front desk manager Jenn pulled out a whole box of cold remedies to help her. Jenn was incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, and made us feel so welcoming every time we saw her with her work ethic, bright and genuine smile, she went above and beyond to make out stay memorable. We usually do staycations at Pechanga, Santa Barbara, San Diego at the Bay Club, no more. We're going to The Ranch for every Staycation from now on out. Only been home for two hours and we already want to go back!

Terrible with knowledge of local free local trollie system. Evidently you need to make a verbal request to stop at The Ranch, although nobody seems to know that. Not even the trolley driver and deffenitly not Anthony at the front desk at The Ranch. You will need to rent a car and find your own way around here.

Had brunch. Fantastic!! Nice on the patio watching the golfers. Have golfed her before and it is a lot of fun too. Deer on the course! Service and food today were great. Highly recommend!

Firstly, i'd just like to state that this is a very long review and if you'd take the time to read it maybe you'd consider AVOIDING this place at all costs! The treatment we received this morning (1:30am) from the staff was by far the worst experience my family and I have ever received at ANY hotel, possibly any business establishment. Check in went very smoothly as it always has, we ve stayed at this exact hotel 15+ times (this WAS our favorite place to stay in Laguna).

Our experience. Checking in a little later then usual we settled into our room around 10:30pm. We decided to watch a movie as we put our two kids to bed, we have a 2 year old girl and 1 year old boy. Around 11:30pm (NAME: ARMI) a staff representative knocked on the door to inform us that the front desk received a noise complaint and kindly asked if we could be a little quieter, we respectfully agreed. Our 1 year old is teething and was being a little fussy, we understood the situation and did our best to maintain a lower volume in our room. At 1:00am another knock on the door, this time it was Graham. Graham was NOT polite, very unreasonable, and informed us that we were being KICKED OUT. We explained that we have a small child hoping Graham would display some type of empathy and provide us with a solution, possibly move us to another room. Instead he threatened to call the cops if we did not leave the hotel.

To anyone thinking of booking here, I would strongly advise you to think twice if you have small children. We were not having a party, we were not listening to loud music, we simply had a fussy baby who was in pain.

Owning a business myself I always think twice before writing a negative review, I understand how impactful they can be. The lack of customer service and professionalism from the staff was shocking.

Quiet, clean and renovated. Great food and atmosphere. Didn't feel like we were in the city, but you're just off pch. Absolutely zero noise from the roads or the city. A great hidden getaway!

We took the family for a Saturday night stay last weekend, looking forward to checking out another luxury hotel in SoCal.
As we were driving up the little road to the hotel, I jokingly told my wife "maybe the driveway is so unappealing as to try to improve your impression of the hotel". When we saw the hotel, I think I was right. Yes, the canyon is picturesque, but the hotel grounds and the renovated buildings (color and style) were not astheticly pleasing at all. Not sure what the designer was going for. From there it was hit and miss. The rooms are newly renovated and nicely furnished, but the old windows and sliding doors represent economy and not luxury.
In addition, the pool was not heated enough (76 degrees I was told), the only food the pool bar had available was a big container of Chex mix, and the food at the club house was really quite average. The staff were friendly but there clearly were not enough staff at the restaurant or assisting with the pool bar.
If your expectations are low and you don't buy in to previous reviews , you may enjoy the hotel.
Unfortunately a generally disappointing experience for us.

What a beautiful and tranquil setting. I would highly recommend staying
at The Ranch and/or dinning at Harvest. The service and welcoming attitude were wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

If you're looking for serene and quiet, this is NOT the place. Landscapers with leaf blowers start before 7am on Sundays! Mondays it's even worse. Customer service overall is not what it should be for $1100 a night. Had high hopes. Hopefully, they step up their game.

The service from the moments you arrive are on the same level as most 5-diamond hotels. The location is breathtaking and convenient within Laguna. Wouldn't ever hesitate staying here again.

Home of the annual Buck Shot Tournament, a Laguna tradition for many years. The golf course club house is still under construction however it is going to be amazing. Best kept secret in Orange County if you just want some quick golf and spectacular views.

5 stars for customer service. After having issues with a room they quickly remedied the situation to my satisfaction, and in my opinion went above and beyond to make sure I wad comfortable.

The resort itself is nice and the rooms are county chic. It's rather secluded, and the lack of cell phone service is a big bummer because even with wifi calling enabled I was still missing calls and couldn't check voicemail until I got off the property. I was there for a work conference and all the food we got was delicious.

Overall was a very enjoyable stay. Probably would be a 4 star review, but their customer service pushed it over.

The hotel has been revamped and has a Montana ranch like feel to it. The setting, which is in a canyon in Laguna Beach, is beautiful. The food at the restaurant there was great. Would definitely go there again.

Great smaller resort on the canyon side of Laguna. We had dinner here outside and it was very nice, great service- just needs a little more lighting. Golf course was viewable from the patio. Small gift shop and valet parking.

We really enjoyed our short 1-night stay here in March 2019. The 2-level suite was super cozy and the decor looked amazing. The staff was very friendly. I do, however, wish they had wine glasses available inside the suites without a need to call someone to bring them. The restaurant was very good too and inexpensive.

This place is the perfect place for a family vacation with all members of your family. It reminded me of a luxury camp in a way! You can walk to the beach, golf, go to the small spa, excellent restaurant, volleyball, nice pool and beautiful rooms like there like cabins. It sells out during popular times so book early. They are very helping with setting up any activities for you or your family. We were able to just relax the entire time.

Amazingly renovated hotel with super-friendly and helpful staff. Located in a beautiful, cozy and quiet place, close to the beach and golf fields. The Harvest restaurant offers very tasty breakfast! Place is still under construction, but no construction noises on weekends. Absolutely enjoyed it!

Beautiful spot. Nice rooms. My only complaint was that they charged our card extra money for a deposit without telling us. It took about a week to get the money back. I would have been fine with it but it bothered me that they did not inform us of the charge at check in. Aside from that our stay was enjoyable.
