The food was really good. Nice outdoors seating area. You won't believe the deserts! Plan on sharing it between at least 2 people. I would give 5 stars but I reserve that for something that is off the chart.

Buffalo Wings in Hot, perfect flavor and perfect heat level. They rank up with some of the best I ve had. My wife & I split the market price steak which was cooked perfect, the fries that came with it were pretty typical, muffuletta sandwich was enjoyable and underpriced for the quality, and the fresh potato chips were wonderful. Good atmosphere!

A lively place with gracious staff and enormous servings. The food is reliable, and if you want dessert, leave plenty of room. Portions are more than enough for 2. My only detractor is a lack of fresh vegetables and the 1/2 plate of mashed potatoes. It may be a regional preference, but I prefer more veggies.

Delicious food, reasonable prices, unbeatable atmosphere, friendly staff. One can easily imagine Lincoln and Meade (their wives welcome, too) grabbing a bite to eat, here, before the Address. Intimate, romantic, historic, awesome.

Atmosphere and service is great! Awesome salads! Huge appetizers! (Stay away from the vegetarian chili- it's basically tomato paste with a can of beans) Give yourself plenty of time to be hungry because the wait is usually an hour- kudos to the hostess stand- they take your name & any type of picture ID from someone in your group, give you a buzzer that goes around the square and off you go to look about for a bit! ;)

Went here for late lunch today. The cream of crab soup was amazing. The Reuben and fries also amazing. Everything else was a huge disappointment. Waitress acted like she was just to busy to be bothered by us. Asked us how everything was as she walked by our table not bothering to stop. We had to stop another staff member to get us a couple of things. We ordered two margaritas. We were charged $350 each for the non-alcohol portion, $6.50 each for the tequila and triple sec, and $1 each to make them frozen. $11 for a margarita that tasted like sours!!!So we ordered two shots of tequila so it would taste like a margarita. Another $10. We paid $32 for two margaritas!!!! We questioned the ridiculousness of the separate charges and asked the manager why the additional fees were not listed on the menu. He blamed it on the bar manager.

We're have always enjoyed this restaurant, but today was not enjoyable. 2 hrs to have lunch. They were not busy just really slow. Ordered the hot seafood wrap that wasn't even warm. There chicken wrap wad cold as well
Final disappointment was the broken piece of layed down cake that came out without the chocolate drizzle and the soup like whipped cream puddling off the plate. Again in the past we've had great service and food. Hoping today is just a one time deal.

Been going here for a while, drive over 30 minutes...

Been going here for a while, drive over 30 minutes when there are tons of restaurants close by my house. Always had a good experience until tonight. First started with a requirement for ID to get a Beeper (as long as I've been going there, NEVER had a demand like this!). I showed the host my DL, but he said no, I must have it and keep it to give you a beeper. I said no, I do not hand my ID for anyone to keep, in this day and age with ID theft, you've got to be kidding me! He said he'd just take a name and let us know if/when a table was ready. Another customer came up while we were waiting and he too, refused to give up his ID for keeps just to get a beeper. In the meantime, the host decided to bring a manager to see what my issue was, I had told him I didn't need to see a manager, I just wasn't giving up my ID for him to swipe, keep or whatever the heck he seemed to need it for to get a beeper for me to wait. The manager, short hair, obnoxious, asked me what my issue was, I explained I was not giving up my ID for a beeper and she told me to go elsewhere, that there were many other restaurants in Gettysburg to eat at. I had brought two of my friends to this place specifically because I told them I had always enjoyed it We were seated, waiter was OK, slow, but OK, when our food arrived and my one friend was eating, she asked the other guest with us if his food was salty as he had ordered the same meal. His answer was yes, but he wasn't complaining as we had already had a run-in with the manager. That same manager came out, told my friend she was rude in the way she explained about the meal being too salty, and called the OWNER (who claimed NOT to be the owner, but was!) over. She was very smirky and all but giggled as my friend explained the situation to her. Honestly, the attitude was beyond comprehension. I explained to the owner, Lisa, that I had made many many special trips to that restaurant because I truly loved the place. But I can't justify the drive knowing if I have an issue, I'm going to be treated that way. It's good and I enjoyed the many times I was there, but it's not worth subjecting myself to any further issues. I won't be going back, nor will I be taking my out-of-town guests there as I have so many times over the years. Customer service is lacking in every way possible here, from the host all the way up to the owner. Too bad. I do not wish them well, as I would not wish my worst enemy treatment like I received tonight. Save yourself the attitude, rudeness, and comedy-like attitude if you have an issue and go elsewhere, you won't regret walking past this place!! Thanks again Lisa, for a very disappointing night. I was all set to have a totally relaxing and enjoyable evening, but you and your staff made sure that wasn't going to happen.

We had a party of six for dinner on a Saturday evening in late February- in fairness it was during the busiest dining time (5 o'clock). The host indicated that it would be a 20 minute wait so our group indulged in some cocktails in the bar area. After 45 minutes I inquired with the host as to the status of our table and he apologetically indicated that it would be another 5 - 10 minutes. We ended up being seated within 3 minutes after the inquiry however.
There were large expanses of time after we were seated and before the server came to our table, brought drinks and then finally took our order. It also took longer than usual to get our order- something to the tune of 30 minutes. As I looked around the restaurant, other tables that had been seated after us were receiving their entrees, so it was pretty clear that it was our waiter and not the kitchen that was causing the issue. After we received our food, we didn't see the waiter until it was time to receive the checks- and the checks were messed up too. There were several instances where drinks were on the wrong checks, etc...
Pros: Nice atmosphere, the place had character, and the food was very good for the price.
Cons: Providing estimates for table waits is not an exact science, but the host clearly failed in this respect. The server was absolutely terrible and should either be re-trained or let go.
Summary: I may go back to this place for dinner, but it won't be for a long while...

I was surprised by how great the soup and salad combo was. The service was excellent. The outside seating is perfect. The food was great. If you're expecting Maryland Cream of Crab, you're going to be disappointed. It's a great soup all it's own though. The poppyseed vinaigrette is delicious.

I met a few colleagues here for a working lunch. We we're greeted warmly and promptly seated once our whole group had arrived. Our server was prompt in welcoming our arrival and efficient in taking our orders and serving us. I did think it took a surprisingly long time for the food to come out but not painfully long. The potion sizes were large. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. There was more shredded Colby Jack cheese on it than greens. Plenty of chicken. All in all it was good. We accomplished what we had met to accomplish.

My husband and I ate lunch here today while visiting Gettysburg for our anniversary! I was expecting a long wait and was told for the 2 of us it would be 25 minutes (not bad for 1pm on a Saturday!) We gave our ID in exchange for a buzzer (smart idea!) and was told it would work around the square. So we went out to walk around and less than 10 minutes later we were seated! Staff was very friendly, our waitress was great and the food was even better! Prices are average and portions are large. We had a really great time and hope to go back!

The desserts are home made right here! They are phenomenal in taste and stature! One cake slice is about a foot high (no joke)! So here's the great. The garlic soft pretzel with bruschetta dip, the cream of crab soup, the pulled beef sandwich. Service was ok. Surprised they still use reusable menus during Covid though. Hopefully they are cleaning them!

Have lunch at the Pub today after a motorcycle ride through Gettysburg and it was fantastic. The quesadilla w chicken was on point, so was my wife's corned beef sandwich. The cocktail selection is huge and the cocktail that my wife ordered was excellent. This is my 2nd time there and I will definitely go again.

Went to the Blue and the Grey, packed. We hiked across to the pub. The beer was cold but the food was too. Order sliders , that looked and tasted like they were there all day. Husband ordered nachos. The chips were wet , and not in a good way . The pico de Gallo was from a can, as was the guac. The worst was the chips had no crunch. Bleck

We eat here about 4 times a year. The restaurant is amazing! It has an amazing look with an amazing view! My wife and I fell in love with the bathrooms... I know that sounds crazy, but its true. We even redesigned our bathroom at home to look more like theirs. The food is always good and doesn't kill my wallet.

We stopped in here Saturday night , around 6pm for dinner. We gave one hostess (actually two separate young ladies were handling seating and seemed to be working independently of each other with little communication ). She told us the wait would be around 35 to 40 minutes, which we said would be fine- being Saturday night, we expected a wait. The wait drug out to an hour as we watched people arrive and ask for seating and then get seated while we continued to wait. Finally, just after an hour waiting, we were seated.Ten minutes until a server acknowledged us. Another 15 minutes until our water arrived. I didn't see the charm in the area where we were seated. The floor was covered in debris it just seemed like an ill-kept and shoddy establishment. Bathrooms were a wreck.. The quality of the food didn't save our experience- it was just okay. The young man who was our server was very courteous and we felt he was doing his best in a restaurant where there didn't seem to be any strong management which is so important in a busy restaurant. There was a wedding going on upstairs, but that should not have been impacting the experience of restaurant patrons if the restaurant is also open. We could only guess this spot was busy because of its good location , but I would recommend passing by this place and eating somewhere else.

Very bland and generic. Reminded me of how food tastes at the strip mall across from Walmart. The burger was over cooked (asked for medium) and the chicken dry. Pasta was also over cooked. When I got the bill, I was charged as if the food was supposed to be good. Service mediocre and a bit unprofessional, due to a mostly high school staff. Many of the Local Guide reviews posted here look to be fake. This place is a tourist trap. Avoid!

Very nice inside and outside, but wasn't a big fan of this place when it came to the food. Very basic stuff. Took forever for our food to come out and we only ordered a few appetizers. Nothing special at all and not worth the time or money. Go elsewhere in Gettysburg.
