We are staying in nearby Naunton and drove to the Porch House - about a 10 minute drive. Parked on the road nearby (plenty parking). Restaurant fully booked as it is the easter weekend, but got a table in the bar area. Very comfortable and cosy. We had two starters and a main all to come at once and they were very tasty. Service excellent. Would recommend as a nice country gastro-pub. Make sure you book ahead for the restaurant on busy weekends.

Really lovely food (rare sirloin steak was amazing) friendly staff. Right in the middle of Stowe on the wold. Perhaps just a tad expensive (though probably in line with the area it's in). Not a huge selection of ales but a few nice ones.

Lovely food, friendly atmosphere. Be careful with the word 'Share'. We tried to share a single desert, but they have a double size 'sharing desert that they brought out instead, at twice the price !!

We ate at The Porch House Saturday evening, the staff were friendly and the service ok. Unfortunately the meal was not very good. My husband had the burger which was burnt and the triple cooked chips were awful, more like cold potatoe wedges. My chicken was tough and the spring vegetables consisted of three slides of grilled courgette. We complained politely and were refunded our money. But not really a great advert for the place

Beautiful place to stay in one of the cutest towns in the Cotswolds! Beautiful room, great staff.

Things that could've been better: the wifi in our room simply did NOT work, at all. And there's a note in the bathroom that tells you to leave you towels hanging if you don't want any new ones and do your bit for the environment, which we did. However, all our towels were taken away every single day.

Despite my expectations, the place disappointed me a bit. Something cold atmosphere. High prices on drinks, almost 20-25% more than other Stow pubs. The food did not seem so much to me. Right service, just that, right, I expected something more friendly.

I'd give a 0 if available. Visiting Stow today as I do frequently. Most large restaurants have notices up saying residents or reservation only. Have eaten at Porch house before so wandered in to see if we could reserve for lunch to be told rather abruptly verging on rudely they were shut but when asked why he couldn't offer an explanation. On entering another lovely welcoming establishment we were told it's probably because Stow fair is on. Which I believe he must have known so why be untruthful and apparently judgemental. Made to feel unwelcome.

Old and traditional inn in the Cotswolds village of Stowe On The Wold, which on its own makes it worth a visit. The interior fits in well with the exterior and is nicely furnished and, on the chilly day we visited, they had a nice real fire.

The staff are welcoming and very professional. They have a good range of real ales and a comprehensive menu. Our food was nicely cooked and very tasty.

Our second time at the Porch House was much less impressive than the first. If not for the pie of the day - chicken and ham - this would've been so forgettable that it wouldn't even be worth writing about

Good

We ate at the restaurant for dinner. It was a lovely, old, high end, traditional pub. The food and service was top notch. We would definitely go back but for a special occasion as the prices were a bit high.

This place has no right to claim that it's a 5 star restaurant. It's on the pricey side, and my sirloin steak was not a good cut of meat. Approx half of it was chewy sinew, and not edible. When I passed this feedback to the waiter, the answer that came back from the chef was that I asked for it to be medium rare. This is not acceptable: a good cut of sirloin can even be cooked rare, so blaming the customer is a poor excuse. What I glean from this is that the chef is happy to serve sub-standard cuts of meat for 26 pounds a time, when there are much better pub restaurants less than 150 yards away in the square. On the plus side, my partner's meal was fine, and my scollops starter was very nice.

We booked weeks in advance for a special family birthday. Seemingly the team including the manager had no idea. They decided to try to seat us on a bench table by the door near the bar that was too small for our party. Seemingly had no idea that this wasn't good enough. Apologised but there was apparently no alternative, even though there were lots of tables elsewhere in the restaurant. Just wasn't good enough. Appauling service and cannot recommend!

We had dinner there on a Saturday night, table of 3. We had booked via the website, with confirmation coming back pretty much immediately. It's a impressive place, very busy esp. with a wedding reception on that night. Yet the staff remained incredibly friendly all the way. As we were waiting for the meal - not a long wait - she decided we had been waiting longer that she expected and she brought a plate of delicious olives on the house. The meal was delicious, vegetarian and GF diets well looked after. The puddings were top quality. The pub itself is charming, lots of history, and superbly maintained. The evening was worth every penny.

AMAZING!!! the food was absolutely superb, and the staff are a credit to the company. Attentiveness second to none, without being intrusive. So friendly and welcoming. The building itself is an experience dating back to the 10th century. I really cant praise this place enough. I so cant wait to return.
