My reason for going was to attend a social event in one of the event rooms. While the hotel is beautiful the room was hot and there was practically no ac. In the hotel it was cool and comfortable but as soon as you entered the events room it was the opposite. On top of that my girlfriend had placed a card she received at this event on the table as we got up to dance. When we sat back down the plates were cleared and so was her card. Speaking with a other waiter and the manager it became clear another staff member stole it. I would never voluntarily come back to this hotel again.

I had not seen the Pierre for some years but at $ US 1000 per night I expected that the hotel would be first class as it used to be. We arrived on December 1 around 11 AM to drop our luggage. The disappointment was instantaneous. A strong smell of perfume in the lobby could not hide the stench of mold underneath. Suspicious of what would expect us in the rooms, we asked to visit one, even if not ready for check-in which is set at 3 Pm. The staff at the reception desk refused to show us any room before 3 PM. We booked a room at another hotel rather than risk being stuck at the Pierre. besides the trouble i had, I will have to pay $ 1200 cancelation fee. Beware of the Pierre, it was bought by Taj hotels in 2005 and has nothing to do with the place where Elizabeth Taylor and Aristotle Onassis stayed.
