My family were in town and I brought them here and actually I m sorry to say that we were so disappointed. Almost all of the animals were sleeping and not even there. A lot of construction and the tickets are too much for what you going to see. I don t recommend anyone to go visit.

The zoo is a great place to take your kids. Right now they are doing construction, so some of the exhibits are closed. The food is on the expensive side but it helps pay for the animals, so I feel like it it's worth it.

PARKOUR SPOT: Was visiting from outta town and was reccomend to check this area out for some parkour. The rocky area by the bus stop had some many opportunities. There are jumps, vaults and line options there for people of all skill levels. I feel it was very open, so the sun hit us all pretty hard, so we moved on for further exploring. There were water fountains and public washrooms in good condition so that was a bonus!

Beautiful Zoo, the exhibits are very nice and a good size, there is a good variety of animals. There is a bit of construction going on so it was very confusing at times getting around because there were no maps and there weren't very many signs to help guide you through the zoo

Fun place to go with my family. I'm a big fan of all the green design being implemented with the latest renovations. The train is the big bummer for me, the ride is very short and not worth the $4 ticket in my opinion.

I love taking my family and visitors here, even just adults. The animals are very active and there are tons of events and activities on a regular basis. The zoo is constantly developing and is very active in community education and engagement.

This zoo was lovely. We went there on a rainy day so there were very few people but the animals were out and active. It was a special treat to see the bears very close to the fence. The beavers and otters are delightful to watch. The baby red panda was also an immense treat. A wonderful place to take the family with plenty of clean restrooms throughout the park.

Interactive and extremely thorough. Although some of the exhibits weren't up (I'm assuming because it was the end of November) it was still a great walk through. Took quite a bit of time to see everything!

They have been under routine renovation to the enclosures and each new reveal comes with great surprise and pleasure. The new enclosures seem so much better for the animals. They have a wide variety of animals and spread over several acres of property. The zoo is organized by region - for example the pacific northwest with black bears and bald eagles and sturgeon or Africa with lions, lemurs, and cheetahs. It s a well-designed, clean, and friendly place. The year membership pays for itself if you go just a few times a year, although we typically find ourselves there weekly in the dry months. It s a beautiful zoo and comes with high regard! Enjoy!

A beautiful zoo in the Pacific Northwest. Lots of animals to see in a very walkable zoo. It can be freezing in the wintertime, but the animals don't seem to mind. Easy to access from downtown by taking the public transportation.

Missing 3 major exhibits at once. Same price $15 for admission. Lunch cost very out of range $15 for burger, fries & pop. The food was excellent and high quality though. Great weather, blue skies and small crowds for the day on a Friday.

Relatively smaller compared to others on the west coast, but still a nice family attraction. I would highly recommend bringing sack lunches. You can spend well over $100 for a family of 5 if you don't come prepared.

Its a zoo I cant not like it. Although they need more sighns because I got lost during Zoo lights with my family and it created hell, my mom was getting frustrated and yelled at the map for an hour and a half, because there where no sighns. Looked at the fish and the otter though. Also not going to lie gift shop was expensive, but with the memories made there, it was worth it.

The Oregon Zoo is a wonderful zoo. I received a membership as a gift. It can get pricey real quick though. $6+ for parking, $3 for a cheap drink of anything, $4-8 for something simple to eat, and countless other costs here and there. But it's beautiful. I felt the train during zoolights was not worth the money. The path is much prettier but gets crowded quickly. Their new education center is a treat the whole family enjoyed.

When me and my Mom were here we couldn't go through the zoo. There was to many hills and walking. The Zoo should be also accessible to people with Disability's or that can't walk to long or not very well.

A very nice sized zoo with lots of thought and effort put towards what the animals need to thrive in captivity. It is still a zoo. They make an obvious attempt at conservation of the natural environments of the animals through educational opportunities.

Had a great time at the zoo with my kiddo. Luckily for us we got there within 30 minutes of the zoo opening. We were leaving about 3 1/2 hours later. My kiddo is 5 years old and I was trying to get him through it a little fast as we had other things to do. So if we went at his pace I'm sure we would have been there all day. The zoo is in the process of changing a few areas which won't be done till 2020. Was a little disappointed that the train ride I once went to the Rose Garden area no longer does. Overall the kiddo had a blast.

Cool place! Busy on the weekends, especially if there is a concert. Worth it to see all the different kinds of animals. They have maps for directions, food options everywhere, even desserts. Great place for kids!

Wasn't very impressed. I don't know if it's like this all of the time, but the renovation and various tents made the park kinda confusing and it was difficult to navigate to all of the animals so we missed a ton of them. Food was way too expensive and the quality of the food was terrible. We went on a Twilight Tuesday and one of the workers was even rude and snarky when I asked her a question. We won't be going back for a long time. Years ago I loved the Portland zoo. I guess it's gone downhill since the last time I went. Pros: bathrooms all over and good max access so you can avoid the parking lot.

Fun visit and worth the trip, but I would have liked to see more of the animals. The only animals I was able to see were through people's shoulders. It was very crowded, so if you are not a people person I recommend visiting during the off season. The staff that I ran into were polite and nice but I would have loved to see someone with true passion for the animals. I understand that the zoo will have 3 more exhibits finished in 2020 and I am excited to see how they turn out.

Chaos on a Tuesday afternoon. No parking management or numbering. If you are charging money for parking, better have staff or technology to show spots open. People going merry go round here.
