Face coverings are required, timed tickets and one way paths to ensure social distancing. Once you go by a certain area, you can't go back so take your time. It was nice and Organized however not everyone abides by the 6ft rule so you must maintain that distance for self and not expect other people too(although they should be, as well). Loved that the concession stands are open, too.

The kids love it - membership makes it reasonable to go often (pre-COVID often that is). Went recently with the new COVID planning and kids still loved it. One way was only a little frustrating, especially in the beginning in the PNW section (which we always skipped before). Had some frustration with employees constantly telling us stay apart (even when alone) but they mean well and are trying hard. And, come on, we don t go to the zoo for ourselves! It s the kids and they were thrilled to be back.

Visiting during covid makes the experience a bit different but staff and visitors were all understanding and seemingly happy to be back.
A lot of construction and changes happening to make everything better for animals and guests alike.

They take great care of the animals and set up alot of actives to teach you about how to save the world as well tell you about all the animals, they also donate to save wildlife and overall the best zoo I've been to. If you do go use the Max, you get a discount and parking is hard to find.

If you like animals and zoos you'll have a great time. The most important thing to remember is to get there earlier in the day and be sure you have enough time to see all the exhibits twice because a lot of the animals are lazy around midday and some of them can hide or be hard to see so coming back to them gives you a better chance to get a good view.

It's also pretty cheap as far as zoos go.

This place claims to be about conservation, but they force their elephants to do Circus tricks and pose with high paying guests. They use bullhooks with the elephants, which are abusive and outdated. Gross.

This is the best zoo in PDX ever! The best ONLY zoo! LoL! Like every other zoo, it's all about timing here... the animals are out and about when they feel like it. You can tell something is happening simply by looking for where the big crowds are. Most people don't think to go to the zoo in the rain, but I've found that that's the best time to go. Crowds are down and sometimes the animals are a little more active in the cooler weather. You definitely get a lot of walking cardio here... yay for heart health!

A Huge thank you to the staff that was there Sunday 7/12. They were so helpful and were able to accommodate for our visit that was scheduled by accident on the wrong day. With four kids from out of town it was a day we all really enjoyed and we're able to make those unforgettable moments! Thank you so much for everything and for all your hard work at keeping it safe and enjoyable through this time!

Amazing

Beautiful Zoo! The landscape is kept up with and looks great. The only thing I think could be improved is if the food courts didn't close so early. We were looking for something to eat about 1:30-2:00 and only a few were open. One place had a pizza lunch deal but only had one slice left and wasn't planning anymore even though customers were in line asking for and about it. They said they weren't going to make more because they thought they were going to be closing soon.

I've been going to this zoo since I was very little, it's my "home zoo!" The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and I've never had a bad experience here all the times I've went. I believe the animals are very well taken care of; habitats are appropriate, clean, and well-sized. The zoo can get crowded at times, but that's my only gripe--and that's a good thing!

Amazing zoo. Fun with every animal you want. If you don t like the Oregon zoo it s because you have some deep seeded anger in your heart that we need to get out by petting a baby sheep, homie.

I like the crocodiles the best. But the elephant exhibit is really over the top in a good way.

Also... biiiiiiiig cats, they re great.

I always really love going to the oregon zoo, they try really hard to make sure that the animals are happy and healthy. The only issue we had was that a lot of the zoo was under construction so we couldn't see quite a few animals (monkey area and some bears). It seems like it would be a little more fair if they warned you beforehand and didn't charge as much considering that a portion of the park was closed (it was almost $20 for each adult plus paying for parking). It was still really nice though, there were baby animals and most of them were active.

A great so for families. Small enough to explore in a day and interesting enough to keep coming back. The elephant exhibit is truly beautiful. We definitely made good on our membership last year, and we've already been twice this year.

We arrived 1 hour before it closed, didn't realize the closing time. Hoped it would have been a reduced price with only an hour left. No such luck, still paid full price. Oh well, we'll know for next time. Maybe when we return the new polar bear exhibit will be complete.
