Great zoo, they are are always improving and adding more each year. Only negative was the electric cart I rented for a family member, it was very dirty and had trash in the basket when I rented it.

My daughter and I went to the Oregon Zoo last weekend and had a wonderful time. Unfortunately there was a lot of renovations being done so several exhibits where closed (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) but she still got to see some great stuff! The Lions were out sunning themselves along with the cheetas and Giraffes. My favorite animal is always the elephant! My daughter loved the bats the most, go figure.. I am really looking forward to the construction being completed, It will be a whole new Zoo!

The zoo is a ton on fun to visit. I have been many times. In the winter during the Christmas season they have a nice light show all around the zoo. And during the summer they host concerts. I got to see Chicago preform right next to the elephant enclosure. The zoo is great if you have kids or just want to have some fun.

There are a lot of exhibits in construction right now. Parking is typically pretty tough to find so ride the max if you can. I would love to see more reptile exhibits. My boys are all about snakes and lizards. The LA zoo had a 2 headed snake when I was a boy. That was awesome and memorable.

This is one of the best zoos I have been to. I was hesitant because the pictures and size don't do it justice. It's a large zoo with a good variety of animals that all seem active. The best part is the design of the habitats, it makes every section amazing and conducive to watching the animals.

I spent all day here and still felt like I needed more time. This zoo is amazing.

Who doesn't love the zoo? I only give three stars because I just feel awful for the animals and there was a lot of walking and not much action but I'm not sure I can blame the zoo for that. It was also so crowded and chaotic that I really don't feel like I truly was able to enjoy the zoo or the time with my family. The crowded nature of it really took a lot away from my experience. I went during Tuesday twilight though so perhaps that is why? It was also very hard to navigate. We had a map and it was still very hard to figure where we had been and what we haven't seen yet. We ended up backtracking a couple times and still missed a lot of exhibits.

If you plan on going to the zoo wait till fall of 2020.Zoo is under major construction and most of the animals are missing in action. Huge disappointment and expense for family and friends.

I was highly disappointed!! There weren't many exhibits that were open due to renovations. Definitely won't go back. The three stars were for the animals we did get to see, not the facility.

It was a little frustrating and kinda confusing. We got there and then realized we had to pay for parking. I get it, it's the city and they gotta pinch every penny out of ya they can! Then we get to the gate to pay and the lady couldn't seem understand we needed 3 adult tickets, 4 child tickets and then one child under two was free. Somehow she was really confused for what felt like a good ten mins and numerous times repeating ourselves to her. She finally tells us the total and we tell her that's not right. Then she argues telling us how it's right. By this time F it I'm paying these crazy prices....let me in! We pay and then she hands us one to many tickets which is why the price was wrong. I WAS NOT going to try and show her the mistake as I'm sure we would be there forever! So we go in the zoo and there is a lot changing, things being built for the animals. Which is awesome for the animals, but then that takes away from what we get to see. We noticed there were quite a few animals we didn't get to see because they were gone. All in all the kids had fun and that's why we were there.

We had a horrible experience at the zoo. We are members of the Phoenix Zoo and I have never once had a bad experience there, and expected the same of the Oregon Zoo I loved when I lived here growing up. There were at least 4 school buses of children there, making it incredibly crowded and chaotic. I don't know why they don't have schools come on different days. It was so stressful to keep track of my two little ones who were just trying to get up to the glass to see the animals. It was so crowded you could hardly walk the paths to each exhibit without feeling like you were sardines. We stayed approximately 3 hours and the crowds and "sardine" feeling never let up. There had to be fire code violations with the amount of people they allowed in. I will not make the mistake of going before calling to see if other big groups are going to be there. The zoo is just not laid out to dissipate crowds at all. We only saw a couple animals really well- either they weren't out, or it just wasn't worth fighting the crowds to get a look. The exhibits have very little viewing space. The other thing that was outrageous was paying for parking. The machines were finicky and it is hard enough to get your kids to the zoo with strollers, lunches, etc. without adding the extra step of paying for parking, which there were lines at the pay stations. It is hard to know how long you will do the zoo, and then you have to add the pressure of getting back to your parking spot within the time you paid for. I don't think we will be back. My 5 year old told me he didn't want to go back. Phoenix zoo for the win, times 100.

It's something of a work in progress right now. Half the place is under-construction. But by 2021 or so it sounds like it'll be pretty awesome, they're adding a big polar bear exhibit, I believe a big primate exhibit and a few other things. Pretty cool already with a wide variety of animals, just a little difficult to navigate with all the construction. Hopefully in a couple years it'll all turn out to be worth it.

What is there to say about the Oregon Zoo. It's a zoo. This isn't the San Diego zoo, it's the Oregon Zoo. They have concerts in the summer, halloweeny stuff around halloween & elephants year round.

We went on a Twilight Tuesday, when tickets are $5 and the zoo is open until 8. Amazing, friendly, knowledgeable staff and many animals that we got to see up close. I saw so many animals I have never seen before and in close proximity. A great experience.

Zoo lights display was great as always. Some new lights have been put out as well as the classic ones from years past.

The food line for elephant ears was over an hour on Sat night, but they were hot and fresh and tasted fantastic.

For the most part the crowds flowed well despite being very busy, however there was massive congestion in front of the light tunnel where we felt like herded cattle for the better part of 20 minutes.

Overall it was great fun and we always make sure this event is a holiday tradition, but you should prepare yourself for the sheer volume of people.

Its so nice, not for the animals, but I love it at the zoo. Remember its lots of walking, so if you get tired quickly remember to bring a wheel chair or pay $30 with a $20 dollar deposit you will get back. And parking meters are a little confusing, was not sure how to add more money after I got more change.

One of the best zoos I've been to and much cheaper than the San Diego zoo. I really like how a good portion of the park is shaded with trees and other sections offer misters. Some of the exhibits further in dont offer much cover so if you are visiting on a hot day like we did be sure to have plenty of water and a good hat.

The elephant exhibit and petting zoo are both worth checking out. One thing to note is that the petting zoo has two sides. One with goats and the other with rabbits and tortoises that you can pet.

Always a great place to come! Lots of construction going on right now (9-19) but they are improving lots of the exhibits and have been for a while. It just keeps getting better and better! The new elephant enclosure is particularly good. Good food options including adult beverages now. Come on down and check it out!

Went here for Brew Lights and absolutely loved it. The lights are so cute and colorful, perfect for a Christmas adventure! The staff is very friendly and willing to help you or direct you to anything you might need. There's also a train you can take that gives you a better view of the lights. All in all a lovely experience with some delicious beer and a beautiful ambiance.
