The zoo lights were wonderful warming even being cold out! The family that I have today with there love for me I could merely live in a 18 degree atmosphere and be comfortable and happy they love me and it warms my heart!

Now the animals seem happy.
A few years back they had this poor Polar bear that would walk and swim in the exact manner, EVERY SINGLE TIME, ALL DAY, EVERY DAY!
It was sad and disturbing
This time, the animals seemed a lot more well adjusted!!!
But...
There were quite a few animals not there right now. No grizzlies, lions... The list goes on and on!
They are remodeling.
As long as the animals are happy there then I am as well!

Went here for my first zoo experience. Although it was rainy that day I still enjoyed myself. I loved looking at all the animals. Zoo was absolutely my favorite and I hope the zoo continues to put it on.

Why are we charged full price when half the zoo is closed until 2020? I had fun with my fiance and the animals are way more active, which filled 3 hours of time with my fiances favorites, but i miss my wolves!

Ok, so it s a zoo. It s great, but not always super exciting.

But sometimes, the Zoo has a Bald Eagle, unfenced, 3 feet from your face and it stares deep into your soul. I don t know where else you get that sort of special experience to wild creatures.

I've been to quite a lot of zoos, and this one is my favorite. The enclosures are large, so you do not feel like the animals are trapped. Also, the viewing areas have a great modern feel. Be warned though, most of the ape exhibits are closed for construction, and will be open in 2019/2020.

The Oregon Zoo is open for visits by appointment only. You must schedule and pay online and be prompt for time slot. I'd say about half of the animal exhibits were closed due to Covid and there was construction going on for a new polar bear exhibit. However, all the animals that are open were visible. We saw every animal even the otter swam out from his hiding place (just as we thought he would be a 'no show') and gave us a brief performance. We snacked on elephant ears and lemonade. The restrooms were clean. Our only 'complaint' was there was no break in pricing for anything. We couldn't refill our refillable water bottles because the refill stations are closed due to Covid. And no coupons are being given or honored, not even for park entry. Members get a % off their snacks. But we were visiting from out of State. Other than that... we did have a good time and the staff were friendly and professional!

Let me tell you guys how embarrassed I was to bring my mom to this year's mothers day brunch at the zoo, we come at 11:35 to enjoy the buffet to eat 11:45 behold we get called to our table, we go to the buffet (No plates) wait in line for 6 min or so feels alot longer when your just standing there, go through and dish up about half the buffet is available half is empty, cool that's fine it's busy trying to be understanding wait for refills we eat our first plate. Meanwhile I'm watching a huge line form at the buffet again no plates then another 10 min go by they bring them out the line is not moving cause all the buffets adult and kids are empty minus bagels and bacon but all the fancy stuff we paid alot of money for are empty another 10-15 min go by before they only refill half of the pans again and all the food is gone again by the time they get the line down cause it formed so big! I just want to say my mother was not happy and really put a damper is this fun enjoyable experience this was our second time, last year was ran so much better. Seriously you guys really dropped the ball and I have to try and recover my moms, mothers day. She loves the zoo and we are just disappointed :/ I have the other video of the two empty buffet if you would like to see that! oh and they are out of prime rib which is like the main star, I paid all this money for bagels and bacon lol..... It's all that is available! I want you guys to know I'm a zoo member and I love the zoo ask any of my friends I'm just really upset over this experience

Zoolights is always a blast here. It's a good zoo, lots to see, fun little train, good informational boards. They are currently revamping some areas, so there are some construction areas, and some exhibits are closed, but always a good time for young and old.

Grew up going to this zoo and haven't been here in about 6 years. Very disappointed. Got my daughter a zoo key and they were either not available or not functioning. The massive expansions are awesome but the construction is obtrusive to the zoo experience. Hoping that the improvement better the environment. Overall...would pay to come again soon.Sorry...

Ok SO part of this I will admit is my fault as I didn't pay attention to the hours. HOWEVER I purchased tickets at 4:00pm to go to see their exhibits and guess what - THEY WERE CLOSED. However they NEVER once said anything during the transaction about their hours and my ticket was only valid for that day. This is RIDICULOUS and extremely unfair and disappointing. If you sell someone $36 in tickets and then say oh yeah and you only have an hour because we are technically closed sounds shady. I did enjoy the little bit I was able to see but because of the service and the disappointing exhibits I am not likely to return.

I really wish I could give a higher rating.. unfortunately due to the lack of animals these days at the zoo and the massive construction project, I was not impressed. There seems to be more space for humans to walk around and loiter than for the animals. For years I have been a huge supporter of my local zoo and always proud to say how amazing a place. I hope it returns to its former glory.

Thanks for offering a program that those on assistance can get some affordable tickets and can take their kids for a day at the zoo. I cant afford $20 a ticket right now, but I can afford $5!

This zoo has the potential to be a nice zoo. There are a lot of projects going on at the moment and there isn't too much to look at right now. They have recently finished the elephant zone and that is a site to see.

As of December 2018, there were many animal exhibits that were closed. We were sad about missing the rhino, polar bear, tiger, leopard, and a few other animals because of that. They should have discounted the tickets because of this.

It is worth being there, 3 hours are nothing. Super clean and the animals are in excellent condition. The attention of all the staff is excessively friendly. Definitely place to visit one and many more times.

I love the Oregon Zoo. They have great areas that feel different based on the kinds of animals. During the Fall and Winter times of year they do Zoo Lights with their train. Discounts are offered on admission if you used Trimet to get there and they habe yearly memberships as well.

The zoo is also working hard to expand the habitats of some of their animals. They recently completed the Elephant Lands, which are very nice. Future plans are in progress for the rhinos, chimpanzees, and penguins, I believe.

This is a fun place to go on dates or take the family.

Great place to take the kids for the day. The zoo is always impressive and is working on making things better for the animals and for the people visiting. Even with the stuff that is closed it is great fun with the kids.
