Currently about half of the park is under construction... But the improvements look promising

I have loved this place since I was a kid and enjoy it as a parent. The only down fall was that a lot of the cages were empty?!?!

It was a beautiful walk but a lot was closed for construction.

Parking is a nightnare! This includes a lack of handicapped parking spaces which left us driving around looking for a space for over an hour. Something really needs to be done about this.
There are 4 habitats under construction which seems excessive. Hopefully this will lead to a more welcoming zoo in the future.

Usually only go for zoo lights around Christmas time. Always enjoyable and fun for kids.

The seals, penguins and aviary are great. The elephant exhibit is beautiful but somehow the scale may be beyond little kids' ability to appreciate. Lots of renovations in progress, so great things are likely in the offing. Not exactly cheap for the whole family.

Lot of construction is going on since last year which is spoiling the fun.

Great Halloween fun! Went on a scavenger hunt, trick or treated, and saw all the animals with my toddler. He loved it!

The animals are in great living conditions. Any snacks or drinks will cost you a arm an leg

We wish the animals were all out that ARE there. Also, there was too many 'temporarily unavailable' due to this or that and under construction everywhere. Otherwise, we enjoyed the visit with the animals.

Good zoo with a wide variety of animals. It seems like they re really trying to improve the level of involvement that people can have.

Love this zoo and all it has to offer. Pack your own food though.

I've been going there since I was a child and everytime I went, I've always had a great time. It's well designed, easy to explore, fairly priced and has some good food. Recommend it very highly

They should really tl you before you pay full price that so many animals are not on exibit because of construction. Or at least charge accordingly. I would have been okay with a $4-5 discount

A great space to see some exotic animals, it will be better once the remodel is complete on some areas.

The elephant activities were excellent, fascinating. Learning about the family connections of the elephants and the breeding program was so interesting. The bat feeding was great. The Pacific Northwest area is so realistic and well done.

Zoo is updating the exhibits kind of disappointed with this visit

Love, love, love the Oregon Zoo! Other than dealing with field trip kids (to be expected), everything was great! Besides, you can carry a beer around to help dull the children's noise

One of my favorite places in Portland. It is a very unique zoo set up and they are doing a very good job to make sure everyone can enjoy the zoo safely during the pandemic! We had a lovely day!

Nice way to spend an afternoon. Lots of exhibits in which to appreciate the diversity of animals across the globe. Also lots of construction though, and we were disappointed that many animals were not able to be seen because of it. It's disheartening to spend money expecting to see certain animals and then have to go past multiple empty/closed/under construction areas.
What we did see was very nice, though. The elephants are probably the best to visit. There is an abundance of educational materials to allow you to learn about the different animals.

I love the Oregon Zoo! Definitely, one of the best zoo's in the country.

You have elephants in a climate not suited to them in small partialy concrete enclosures with stagnant water in a filthy pond. Disgusting.

The zoo is always a good idea. This zoo is far better than the Woodland Park in Seattle, in my opinion, and less expensive. Also, if money is tight, don't miss first Tuesdays of every month. $2 admission. I've only done it once and it was pretty crowded. If parking fills up, there is overflow that you can be shuttled from, which isn't ideal, but you really can't beat that price, right?

Great zoo. Currently under some construction to expand the monkey enclosure. Going early at opening time was beneficial. It was quiet and not crowded.

Not what it used to be. Train ride is now a short loop & at $4.00 ,per person with no views of anything plus not being able to hear the guide, was a bust. Between that, three exhibits closed and school kids running amok, it will be a very long time before we return. I love for kids to go to the zoo and had my 5 yr old grandson with me. After we got home: Grandma, I would be in big trouble if I acted like those kids today right? Point made.

Great zoo. Kid friendly, elephants, aviary, penguins, cougar, giraffes, mountain goats, zoo lights, Polar Express is underway for 2020. Recommend bring own lunch. Elephant ears and concessions.

Went there today. It was a colda day and there were no sign that most ANIMALS. My kids so dissapointed. We r walking around the zoo and seldom see any animals. I understand it was cold. But, the zoo should put a sign so ppl no need to walk for around for nothing. Paid @$9.95 for adult and @$4.95 for kids just to see regular animals that people often see. Paid full ticket n parking for nothing. They should give half price for everyone. I saw more staff fixing stuff in the cage. Dont forgot parking fee too. I brought a friend from out of country to the zoo just see common animals. This zoo its worst. Ive been to Atlanta zoo and Tacoma zoo and this zoo its worst. Worst layout made people go back to go to the other side. Iv been to tacoma zoo and it was cold and i rememeber the animals were there. Dont waste your money. I went to zoo lights not really wow. Just too much walking, cold and lights just ok.

This zoo is pretty cool. Hard to navigate a little to make sure you see every animal. Couldn't find the lions at all... but did find margaritas and beer. Which is better.

We love the Oregon Zoo. We go every time we visit Oregon (several times a year)

Impressive place with lots of wonderful animals, outstanding staff and volunteers. New exhibits under construction. Really thankful for all the positive changes over the 55 years I have been able to visit. Fun day despite showers. Lots of opportunities to take a break from the rain as needed. Saw lots of animals.

They are in the middle of a refurb so some areas feel like you are just herded down a walk way but the aninals are spectacular. Clean and friendly, lots of interactive things for your smaller children and lots of fun facts for your older ones.

I like the tide pool exibit. Very magical for small children

Buying a Zoo membership was such a great choice for our family as we homeschool, and the zoo has a reciprocal membership with many other places, which allows us to get into those places for free during certain months. The zoo is always fun to go to..we are looking forward to doing the zoo lights for the first time ever this year.

EH. Drove From Seattle and wasn't too impressed. Under a lot of construction and wasn't posted on their website.

Great place to hang out and see new things and learned a lot about animals

This place is Grand has lots of bears looking at child's it's fun kid in Pikachu costume was weird my nana scream at the alligator and said oh it looks like the alligator from Peter Pan!! I like the Dippin Dots last time we went there I like the Dippin Dots last time we went there there was really ugly fish once I saw an elephant pooping it was really gross slinged everywhere

Hands down one of the most beautiful zoos I ve been to. Lovely landscaping and thoughtfully planned out. Enjoyable walk through the displays.

The zoo is mediocre. Its not terrible but certainly not anything special. Its great they have a program for cheaper entrance for lower income families but I would say its not worth the trip for out of towners or on big discount days when there will be lots of people

A lovely space that accommodates families so well. Much is under construction right now as they build several new exhibits.

It was a great time to go to the zoo today! It wasn't crowded! I had the opportunity to go to every area, look at all the animals and read the info boards. It was also a chance to use my key and listen to a voice recording about details on the animals.
