Absolutely love the Oregon Zoo!! Can't wait til the new additions open up in 2020.
Great Zoo! Very informative and very green enclosures
Zoo lights were excellent, and parking was easy, since not many people wanted to walk in freezing rain and wind. Dress for the weather!
Beautiful Zoo! We will be back! I can't wait to see it when construction is done!
The zoo is clean and well maintained. The caged animals are sad, but it's much safer to see a bear in a cage than unexpectedly on a trail...so there's that.
Too many exhibit down at once. I think the music concerts the put on there took away from the experience also.
Excellent place for a day trip or for a field trip for your school.
New exhibits will be opening in 2020 and this will drive an abundance of traffic to the facility.
My son and I went to see the zoo lights for Christmas! They did a great job! We rode the train, brought back a lot of good memories when he was young, had a lot of fun! Lights EVERYWHERE!!
I purchased tickets ahead of time. Your tickets are for specific times. This means the zoo is much less crowded. And you have to wear masks the majority of time you're on the grounds. Was still a very enjoyable experience during the pandemic.
Zoo lights are amazing! Can't wait for the next exhibits to open.
Beautiful and well-done exhibits. A bit of construction on some major exhibits, will be excited to see the result in a couple of years.
Lovely forest setting and the animal housing seemed adequate.
Normally the zoo is great, but this time nearly half of the exhibits were closed with no warning before we paid to enter
Great zoo, but I would've liked some more little creatures. Pika's, prairie dogs, squirrels and marmosets wild be a great edition to the Cascade area. I know big animals attract the crowds, but that's also because people don't often enough see the small animals to fall in love with them.
It was a lot of fun to see some of the animals we didn't spot in the wild. Like the bear and cougar.
There are remodeling so there weren't that much animals... They will done with most of them by next year
Lots of exhibits were shut down and under construction, parking was incredibly difficult, and there was no info online that many of the exhibits were shut down. Not worth our time and money. Also, we found it strange there are no notable or noticeable conservation efforts that this zoo makes... If there is we couldn't find any material on it while in the park.
Wonderful zoo that is constantly improving. Just one of the places to check out in the Washington park area
Cool for being so close but not amazing as some zoos go.
A lot of displays are closed til 2020. So I guess I will go back in 2020
Small but nice and easy to walk. Was cool too see the animals.
Whether it s an outing with friends visiting from out of town or a seasonal experience like the Zoo Concert Series or Zoo Lights - or evening better, Brew Lights! - the zoo never lets me down. Nestled in Oregon s natural beauty with enclosures that make you feel less bad about the negative arguments one hears about zoos, this place always makes me feel connected to the larger world outside of my hometown.
And their social media is right on, too!
Great zoo with a good variety of animals. We rode the train which was fun.
Very nice time. It starts to feel less overwhelming the second or third time you go.
Nice walking paths and plenty of well marked bathrooms.
We came for a lecture in their new Educational Center, wonderful layout and education for all ages. The zoo itself is well laid out, an excellent place to walk, see animals and learn.
My favorite thing about this place is how natural the animals look in their habitats. I can't wait for the construction to be finished. Also if you haven't scheduled to go to a elephant show it was one of the highlights of my life!! I loved it and so did my kids
Best zoo ever. Cant wait for them to add more animals soon. I came from Southern California and our zoos need to get better. We have more animals probably but the way the Oregon Zoo sets up the habitats for the animals is nice and it's not as crowded.
Nice place but there were a LOT of animals missing. They should offer a discount on entry fees.
Fun place to visit, alot for kids to do and see, great staff!
This zoo is incredible, I went to see a concert and it felt more like a festival, the amphitheater is under the stars and there were food trucks and all kinds of things going on. I can only imagine the zoo during the day. It is very well maintained and a great place to check out when in portland.
Zoo lights, AMAZING. Never visited in the day. Send me coupons.
Looks like theyre building on to it I'm not sure if certain animals are just not in season but I remembered more as a child!
Currently under construction but will be out of this world when it is finished!
Been going since I was a kid I love the updated elephant home. I am a bit sad that there is still so much updating going on. I do feel they need to speed up the updated process cause eventually people will stop going do to it.
There was barely a handful of exhibits to show everything was closed off the animals that were supposed to be there weren't , the food stand didn't even k ow what beers they had or if they had any , pretzel was good so expensive for nothing to really see but trees ! And a couple animals, and u pay extra for a 2 min train ride ! Other then that we enjoyed the sand box and the walk and the few animals we did see
The guy at the main entrance is strange but the experience other than that was great.
Good zoo, but oftenly animals at hiding. We went in afternoon. Maybe in the morning they ar more awake not sure.
We had so much fun here.I especially like the quiet zones and the headphone areas for kids with special needs. We really enjoyed the giant sand box and the train as well as the animals. The glitter tattos were a good bonus too. This zoo was clean and fun.I would definitely go back.I would also recommend this place to everyone.
Work in progress. Exhibits are coming along nicely.
Always love going to the zoo. They are under heavy construction right now so some things are not open. The food was simple , but decent.
Ample parking and a very nice zoo. Lots of activities around it (in better non-COVID days).
Love the zoo, a place where no one bothers you. Animals are amazing.
Fun, good food, love the help from zoo teen helpers!!!
New elephant habitat is amazing. More and more of the recent construction boom is coming on line, and it all looks great.
Food is still a weak spot, especially in such a foodie city.
I love the zoo. The only bad part is that they've remodeling for the last couple years.
This zoo fully exceeded my expectations. Cheap cover charge ($10 off-season), great array of animals, and the design in general is phenomenal! Terrific spacing of exhibits, the animals are encouraged to sleep right up against the glass! I crouched down a foot away from a resting cheetah. Every kid I saw was having a great time too, great family spot. I have no idea how the average visit time is 45 minutes, I easily spent 3 hours here.
It is a very beautiful place with a diversity of flora and fauna, I highly recommend it for families.
was here for a Jason Isbell concert and it did not disappoint! The elephants looked like they were dancing along and the food was affordable and filling! Would totally do this again! The only downside was it started to drizzle and get cold and we could not go back to get jackets from our vehicle.
Great place to bring the kids but multiple exhibits are closed due to construction for multiple years.
They have almost no animals out until later this year or 2021 i forgot witch one but they also don't have the best enclosures for the animals.
Getting pricey worth becoming a member now for sure but always fun.....
Parking is always difficult (worth riding MAX). A great pleasure with the kids!
One of the best zoos I've been fortunate enough to visit.
We never get tired of this place, even after being here all day and a third of the zoo being under construction.
The animal shows are cool....food is a bit overpriced...and the tigers are always sleeping
A very beautiful zoo, although I hope to find more animals !!
Love all the beautiful animals here. The best zoo!
Zoo lights are beautiful, shame it was closed early this year
I've been going here my whole life and it's great! They take care of their animals and by going and buying tickets, foods, drinks, etc., you help take care of the animals, too. They truly do everything they can to care for their animals and take in animals who can't be in the wild for whatever reason and give them a safe home. You may not always see your favorite animal, but it's only because they're giving them the freedom of privacy. 10/10 recommend the Oregon Zoo (and they have the best elephant ears!)
Had a trip for my family, courtesy of the Foresters. Have not been to the Zoo is a few years. Had a wonderful time and the new elephant exhibit was great they have much more room. Like the layout and the bird demonstration on the lawn. Sorry we missed the lion talk at 11am, You do need to get their early on weekends when it fills they close the entry to people when they meet the capacity. Even if someone leaves they do not let anyone else in.
