Went and seen the Oregon Zoo Lights which turned out to be very busy but the staff and everybody was friendly and helpful. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because there are lots of hills and being in a wheelchair makes it a little bit more difficult

Went to see the Christmas lights at the zoo and it was awesome if you never seen him before he should go and check it out

We actually love the zoo and are long time members.

Today was our third trip since reopening during COVID - this time around, WAY too many people & masks/social distancing were terrible with many removing their masks as soon as the zoo staff were out of sight.

Sadly, we won't be back until the COVID is clear

Fun place but parking was poorly planned and is always a pain, no matter how early you arrive. You would think they would have relocated some resources by now to make the zoo more accessible.

A great location for a day trip, especially with family and kids. The layout is ideal with trails leading off to different sections of the zoo, all themed with the various climates. The animals appear to be well taken care of with staff that truly care about them. Oregon Zoo occasionally has events throughout the year that are worth checking out, the last one I went to being the Zoo Lights which makes for a romantic evening if you can get up there after work or navigate the crowds on a weekend.

Come back Spring 2020! Half the zoo is closed until then. Really beautiful park but unless discounted the Zoo is not worth it currently.

Where do these overly enthusiastic reviews come from. This was the worst zoo if you call it a zoo. Huge waste of time and money. Thanks local guides, I now have no trust in your reviews.

Lovely place. The events and encounters are totally worth it. Knocked off two starts because parking is AWFUL. 11:45am on a Thursday, it took me 40 minutes to find a damn parking spot!!

Who doesn't love going to the zoo just to get out of the house on a nice day. Can't wait until all renovations are complete.

Loved all the animals! The elephant playing in the water and the giraffes walking around we're my favorite. There is construction going on this summer and the train ride is shorter than it used to be.

There is very few animals compared to past over half of park is under construction

The best zoo ever! First time ever I've seen so many animals in almost a comfortable habitat, because it's man made bring your sneakers lots of walking

A great zoo for its size. The best part is the Max line takes you right in front of it so no need to take the car and find parking.

It is currently under a lot of construction but my kids love the zoo so it is always worth the trip.

Zoos are really hit or miss with the animals appearing or not, but the Oregon Zoo usually has good animals that love attention. We saw the cutest cougar sleeping on his back in the cave, a pair of giraffes being adorable and Lily the elephant was the cutest as usual. This place is fun no matter your age, its so fun to learn about the different types of animals.

Elephants smell like they need to be cleaned more often, food is expensive and they don't give you cutlery.

The Oregon Zoo is a terrific place to take kids and there is plenty to do, just make sure you bring a little extra spending money if you stop by the gift shop because it is a little pricey, just like most gift shops the world over.

My granddaughter love to feed the giraffes. She really enjoyed the the animals.

I really had a nice time at the Oregon Zoo I would recommend the zoo to three times a year it's a great place to take the family

While so much was being built and/or restored, there was still plenty to wear one out. Staff friendly and helpful. Truly enjoyed the day.

I love this Zoo and I will be taking my granddaughter back, of course, a lot of the animals were not really out that day because it was raining.

Love this place! So family friendly and new exhibits always being added.

It was overcrowded, many exhibits were closed and what you usually did see was one animal just sleeping almost out of sight.

There was a lot of construction, but that didn't take away the beauty if this zoo. It was an experience with everything. It's large and a bit hilly with tons of animals to look at. And their gift shop ia reasonable too. Wonderful time to be had. I can hardly wait to see the new areas they were working on.

Amazing lights for 1970. Bring the kids though. Tons of expensive junk food and drinks.

It's a great place to go to relax and see the animals and nature. There are some areas that are under construction but it's not so bad where you don't feel constricted. The food prices are not so bad either.

Always a fun experience, employees are always helpful and friendly. Check their website ahead of time to make sure the exhibits you want to see are open, they have several closed at the moment for remodeling (June 2018). A membership is typically worth it if you plan on going more than once a year.

Wonderful zoo! Clean and easily walkable. It's kept clean and there is plenty of shade. New Elephant exhibit is great and the bats are fun to see.

Always a great place and more animals viewable than the past few times I've been here. Not too busy on a Monday either.

With all the recent renovations the zoo is really coming a long way. The prices on parking is totally out of control however. It used to be that members got to park for free but now they are gouging us too. I get they want people to us public transportation but with tiny kids it's just not an option.

Been here several times. Always a fun experience. However, it seems as though the animals are often inside and not outside and viewable. Zoo Lights is a nice experience, though if you want to see the animals, come a bit earlier. Haven't been to the new elephant exhibit, but excited to see it [Will update review when we visit it].

Love it I came here when I was in the fifth grade and we had a blast it was the best I love the animals and the food was good

Zoo lights is nothing like I remember, even with the construction. It was still fun though.

They have been putting so much time, energy, and funds into making the enclosures as well suited and engaging as they can for the animals. They are also involved in numerous breeding programs for endangered species. It's become such a great place to visit and it just continues to grow.

Got a year pass for the family and was not disappointed. Everyone always has a great time. I enjoy how they treat the animals as well.

Went there for zoo lights. Was alright but seemed like not much was going on and a lot of the lights were burned out. The elephants exhibit was great though.

We always love the zoo. We didn't ever get to the elephants, there was so much to do on the way. The African birds are fascinating, if you stay still long enough to see them. There was A Lot of construction going on. More than I've ever seen.

First time back to zoo since i was 25 im now 53 .it sure has change .i love it .took my three grandbabys with me they had a blast .the youngest really loved the cheetahs .said big kitty shes three.girrafes .condors they was flying.thanks for a great day .oregon zoo.

What a fun place spend the day! I can't wait to see what all the construction brings next year. The new elephant habitat should be amazing!

The zoo is adding exhibits. It's very expensive and many animals are not present. It was disappointing.

On the small side, but that can be a good thing too. We covered the whole zoo in a few hours, and even though there was snow on the ground most of the animals were still out and about.

There was more amazing animals than most zoo the train ride was just the right thing for kids and the ice cream the service was good nd over all the nature sound nd vibes was just unforgettable...

Paid full price. When in and then they basically closed the place for some kind of brew fest. Almost asked for money back. Should have had reduced price for construction and missing major attractions.

Wish there were more animals to be seen,most seemed unavailable. Train only ran not even half way.Could have been better.Will be back

We went to watch the zoo lights, it was a beautiful display except half the zoo was still under construction at the time.

Zoo lights are always a staple of my holiday and it never disappoints.

Definitely worth the second Tuesday $5 entry, but as so many exhibits were off duty without notice at the front gates, I'd have been a bit disappointed if I'd paid full price.

Great remodeling going on. We love the new elephant habitat. Now if they can get the train back to full track

This year we were able to attend a special night at Zoo lights. It was very low key. No train. No loud crowds. They were great enough to have two separate walk ways. So if need be you could avoid the very lighted path. Our family was very grateful. Our daughter absolutely loved all the lights.

I really enjoyed the zoo. I liked how everything was so educational, it has good variety and they re always growing to make it better. The train was a hit, we appreciated the fact we could get a good local beer while wandering around and the kids enjoyed all of the interactive displays. It was a bit pricey and it was sad to see so many exhibits with no animals in them. We did expect to see more. However, I give it a good rating and would probably see a better turn out in the warmer months. We will be back!

Worth the trip for the elephants and scenery. I'm not a huge fan of zoos but this one did it for me.

Love the zoo! Fall/winter is often construction time for them, but it's also a lot less busy.

This place is seriously fun! The zoo is huge and you can easily spend hours there walking. It does have handicap amenity's and plenty of parking, you will have to pay for parking at the pay stations but the cost of a all day ticket is worth it.The staff are always watchful, informative and friendly. In the zoo is many clean restrooms along the routes. There is always crowds there in the summer so if you don't mind tons of kids the weather in the summer is perfect to go. I find going fall just before it starts to get cold and during the school hours, the crowds are few and you can have the best views. Make sure you get a pamphlet to find out when they have their events and shows all yr. If you are feeling generous there is many donation boxes scattered around the area.

A great place to walk, see beautiful animals and promote protecting endangered animals.

It's a very nice zoo. They are expanding so much of the zoo when we went there that much of it was closed, which was very disappointing. That's why I gave it a 4 star. Other than that we did have plenty to do and see. Very beautiful day.

Sunny Saturday, so the zoo was packed. They are currently renovating some exhibits (monkeys, polar bears, rhinos, maybe some others). It should all be done in 2020 I believe. Still a fun day despite the closed exhibits.

May not be for everybody, but it's fun to walk around and climb over the zoo structures. Definitely wish I had more time to explore all of the leftover ruins, but some sections were being used by folks as photo shoot spots and places to Oregon Zoo.

Had a great time with the fam. Loved all the trees on the hot day. Plenty of shady spots.

Zoo lights was fun. A little drizzle but fun for families or date night.

Wide range of exhibits and wildlife, enjoyed the local pnw exhibit not being from here just as much as all the others. Very well maintained too with a nice gift shop and plenty of tables around for families to stop with the kids.

Great place to take the little ones and have a fun day outside. Lots of play areas, a large grass area where you can eat your lunch. And of course the animals :-)

Great trip for the family, lots of shade and seating for needed rest on hot days
