Enjoyed a relaxing lunch with my mom recently. Restaurant was decorated beautifully for the holidays. Food was delicious and prepared with great care. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend making a reservation.
A really great place to enjoy great food or just socializing with friends at the bar or outdoor seating area.
good food and ambiance for the most part, overpriced a bit. We ordered the french onion soup and it came out burned to a crisp. When we complained we were told that was how they served it. Needless to say we asked for another and it was much better the next time.
Great food, set up for safe dining ecen at the bar. Will be back over and over!!
We had a lovely lunch outside on the patio in late August but it felt like a Fall day. Our app, toasted goat cheese, walnuts, salad and berries served with honey and toast was wonderful! I had a poached tuna salad and my husband had the trout and we shared. Both were amazing! We were too full for dessert. Service was also excellent.
First time here and would definitely go back again. Service was great and the filet was excellent
Gourmet fine dining experience at moderate prices. Excellent service in a casual cozy colonial atmosphere.
Excellent! The food and presentation at The Tewksbury Inn was perfect. This was our first visit and we enjoyed the food in a wonderful outside dining experience with a very friendly staff. From the fries and buffalo wing appetizers to the excellent filet mignon and salmon, we enjoyed every bite and the food was perfectly cooked. The deserts were also very good as we had the Classic strawberry cheesecake and the key lime pie. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant and it has now become part of my top ten in Jersey!
Everything was great. We suggest you call ahead for filet mignon. It wasn't available.
But we're definitely going back!!
Expensive, but great appetizers, drinks and entrees. Dessert was ok, but the entrees more than make up for it.
Most recent visit we took friends out to dinner. They loved it and said the atmosphere was that of a New England inn and they felt like they were on vacation.
The food is excellent. Decor is a little dated. Stuffy country club crowd from Tewksbury.
Awesome food! Prices are good too... I really enjoy this place every time I go... so far I ve been just for lunch and it s delicious!!!
Tewksbury is one of the nicest local restaurants around! Food is really top notch-not pub food. Outdoor patio bar is great on a nice day. Love the coffee!
Roger is wonderful. The food is always delicious. And the service is great.
I constantly arrive getting some food here. I enjoy the fast customer service and well made food. Kudos.
Stopped in for a late lunch today and really enjoyed our meals (salmon pita and the grilled trout) I love finding historic places like this that serve really good food.
great meal & atmosphere. thank you for providing outdoor dining and a somewhat return to 'normal'.
They have a spectacular menu, and the food is very rich
Food is so, so and expensive. Service was excellent. It's a popular place but merely average. Food is prepared exotically but is not as tasty as the descriptions.
Dirty and unsanitary even during a pandemic! Unfortunately you could see into the kitchen and none of the staff were wearing masks, including the dish washer! Lastly my wine glass came out dirty, so we had to leave.
Nice decor and food. Loved the old school decor and charm.
Great delicious food but had no idea what gluten free is. Could be friendlier. Great atmosphere
My wife and I happened in here while visiting the area for an engagement party the day after Christmas. The place has a lot of character and the wait staff was pleasant and attentive. The salmon tartar was surprisingly good. The oysters were fresh and salty. We both had a Caesar salad, but it needed anchovies. The steak frites were a fair portion and quite tasty as was the filet. We will likely be back in October '20.
One of my favorite places to eat. great location, neat, and very good service. 5 stars!
Overpriced for what it is and have had bad service there about half the time.
Food & service is always great. Great outdoor seating area during the summer
Incredible food. Great menu. Friendly staff with great service. And in the summer the outdoor dining is lovely!
A great place to visit post pumpkin picking at Melick s...
We have been loyal customers of the Tewksbury Inn for as many years as we can remember 25 years plus.
We're sorry to say that on our last visit we were quite surprised and disappointed with the reaction when the veal chop we ordered did not come out as requested.
We asked if we could have a new veal chop and was told it would take a very long time to cook to a medium temperature if I would like to order something else. I did not want to cancel as veal chop is one of my favorite foods consequently the veal chop came out in about 15 minutes and was not cooked again to my liking.
It seem that it was either steamed, stewed or microwaved to speed up the process of the cooking. I again complained to the waitress and stated that I felt it was not cooked by being grilled. At that time the manager Rodger came out and was highly upset that I would question the way the food was cooked.
Rodger again came to the table and argued the point that the Tewksbury Inn just wasted a $44 veal chop and was not going to compensate us. Very strange... he also stated that he had to take a meal away from somebody else to speed up the process of getting a veal chop to our table there was certainly something wrong with the Tewksbury that evening . We we did not want to argue any further as we felt there was no consideration being given by Rodger and left.
We hope that your future experience at the Tewksbury Inn is not the same as what we were faced with that evening which as I said we have never had a bad meal or bad service while at the Tewksbury Inn many times we have had dinner and meals there.
I don't know why I waited so long to come here! Friendly staff, good sized portions, adorable decor. Enough variety on the menu to suit any taste. Well staffed and run!
Great food combined with a good atmosphere and great service. A nice place for a casual dinner.
Food was great, service was great. That being said they let the town drunk sit at the bar and be loud and obnoxious while I was dining with my family. The guys was clearly intoxicated loud and obnoxious 10 feet away from where people were dining with their families. At one point the drunk was repeatedly lifting his shirt up to show his disgusting stomach to the Bar tender. The owner clearly knew him and put up with his behavior. Not the atmosphere you expect from a high end reataruant. My bill for 4 people was over $300.
Our server was wonderful but my calamari was cold and my hamburger was terribly overcooked.
The cocktails were fabulous and my husband's scallop entree was seemingly perfect.
A favorite spot ! Always great food and a historic atmosphere inside, what else could you ask for ? A beautiful part of NJ too !
Really great menu. Outstanding service. Love going there
I have been going to this wonderful restaurant for many years. The food and service has always been excellent and remains so. Maria, one of the waitresses, is just lovely. She gives you terrific service and really listens to you when you order. The chef, Chris, will go out of his way to accommodate you and any dietary restrictions you may have so you can really enjoy the delicious food he prepares with complete peace of mind.
The only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is because the lunch menu blows the dinner menu out of the water. Really, all of the food is excellent and delicious regardless of time of day, but the dinner menu is boring compared to lunch options. I wish the dinner choices were more varied and interesting (because I can never make it for lunch!) They have a different flavor of risotto every day, and it's probably the best risotto I've ever had. I'm not usually a fan of roast chicken (usually blah at other places), but they're known for their 'Bistro Chicken' and it's well deserved.
Food was great, service was even better. Cool night but the set up kept us warm
Very good! the appetizers were great. The entree was cooked perfectly and the crispy fries were fantastic. Drinks were Good and plenty strong. Service was good in spite of the fact that it was crowded will definitely be going back
Start to finish great meal. Waiter Nickolas was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was delicious. And after leaving my credit card behind, Ashley went the extra mile and used my OpenTable reservation to call me directly and let me know it was there and being held for me. Thanks again.
Calamari was very good. Dipping sauce it comes with makes it.
Best burger around! Excellent service, amazing food, great ambiance! One of our favorites!!
Easily made a reservation on Open Table. Parking in the rear of the establishment off of the side street. Menu was simple and varied American, fantastic wine & mixed drink menu and a wonderful assortment of beers on draft & bottled/canned. Staff was wonderful & friendly. And the indoor ambiance is absolutely wonderful. Our meal was cooked to perfection both the skirt steak frites & the pineapple marinated hangar steak and both our plates were clean by the end. The just chocolate cake was a moist, dense cake with vanilla ice cream that was perfection. The key lime pie was the best I ve had since Florida. Both coffee & espresso were a pleasant end to the meal. Can not wait to experience here when the weather warms up.
Covid protocols were monitored and in place with gentle, written reminders throughout.
Two storied establishment with big enough parking lot. Formal seating inside, nice patio seating outside with a bar counter/ high chairs setting.
Nice collection of wine and beer. Good food options. The calamari, oester and lamb shank was good. Separate restroom at second floor.
we made a recent visit in october 2008. we have dined here many times in the past but this was the first time under the new owner. it was the best tasting meal i've ever had at this restaurant. they need to plan their reservations better. service was a bit slow, primarily as a result of too few servers based on the number of full tables.
Great wings, onion rings smell like BO but tasted good. Bathroom was awful.
Nick our server was outstanding!!!
Highly recommend crabcake appy, best I've ever had!!!!
My wife and I had our very first visit tonight and highly recommend, as every item we selected was amazing especially the pumpkin cheesecake dessert!!
During our visit, we unfortunately were witness to a guest abusing the hostess Heather about a seating selection that was already reserved, and Heather handled herself as a super professional as the guest continued to refuse her responses...
Great job Heather, you handled the situation well...my wife and I will return to this great establishment in the near future..
Great food , staff and reasonably priced for 5star meal and spirits...
Lovely old inn restaurant. Area developed before the Revolutionary War and positively dripping in history. Excellent food. Located in Oldwick, NJ. Must go here again!
Great atmosphere and staff. On the higher end of price point, however the food and drinks do not disappoint. Better than your standard watering hole.
Another pleasant experience Sunday afternoon on Your patio. We find that both food and service are consistently good. Good wine list......... and broth with your
sreamed clams is spectacular.
Had the sweet potato soup and chicken dinner. Delicious! Service was excellent also.
Excellent food, comfortable bar area with good value happy hour specials.
Service is very good, food not spectacular but well above average
Delicious food. Wonderful levels of flavor. Great service. Beautiful outdoor dining. Will be back....soon!
Great food but pricey. Colonial ambience with good service.
I have been going to "The Tewks" for more than 40 years. It has evolved in its service and epicurean delights. Chris, the chef knows more about preparing seafood than anyone I know. The petite filet mignon, asparagus or haricovert, mashed whipped potatoes and sauteed onions for lunch is the perfect meal,. At $20,00 it is perfect. You will finish everything on your plate and be totally sated. The service is excellent and always accommodating. I recommend this restaurant highly. They should jar and sell the mussel sauce. Outstanding!!
This is one of my favorite spots in New Jersey. I have never been anything but impressed with the staff, food, and drinks that are available.
Food is great.... Don t like the fact that they keep asking you for a soft drink and add $2.50 $3.00. Each. Not fair family of 5 can spend $35.00. In soft drinks. That s pretty ridiculous
Love it here, never disappointed. Great atmosphere, great food
3 for food only...service REALLY poor. It's a bummer when food prices/quality and service disconnects. Table was SUPER TIGHT for party of 4, which also adds to a less than appreciation for $400 for 4....
All a wonderful experience. ..delicious food and drink ...great staff and ambiance. ..hands down my favorite restaurant
Everything here is always fantastic. Executive Chef Chris has the most imaginative menus. Always a real treat to come here and see what will be the next surprise. Thanks for being a great place to dine.
Amazing food. The price is up there, but it's Oldwick and the food makes up for it.
We had a very nice time and lunch. Service was fast, food and drinks were delicious and well priced.
The filet on the risotto cake is the best... one of my favorite dishes of all time.
The best burger around. Bartender is just great, quick service, but you have to make reservations for dinner.
This is our favorite place! Try their steak au poivre and the mussel appetizer
