Great food, small selection and menu hasn't really changed in years.
Great atmosphere, the ability to sit outside and fabulous food. The tavern has a great vibe!
Really cool, unique, old-fashioned place with solid food and good drinks.
A wonderful experience as always! Food is delicious and the atmosphere so warm and cozy!
Rustic atmosphere in an historic old building. Food was good, traditional with sort of a French flair. Staff was welcoming and pleasant.
Stopped in for a drink....what a wonderful little outdoor patio. Have to go back and try the food.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The sauces with the appetizers and entrees were amazing, best I've ever had.
The cheesecake with warmed pineapple puree was light, fluffy and absolutely delicious.
The bar looked well stocked, warm and inviting. We enjoyed the dining room which really had a very cozy atmosphere.
Always excellent fare, well prepared with great service. A little pricey but worth it. Go on Monday's for 50% off their very nice wine bottle prices.
Quaint historical bar and restaurant. Crowd noise a bit high for serious conversation
Lively local crowd-make sure you sit at the bar. Monday night is half off any wine. Also, chicken bistro is a must try.
I really enjoyed their food. I always get great customer service there. The place is neat and the employees are always super friendly. Will visit here again.
Back in the late 70s and 80s this place had great bands and great simple food now everything in NJ has to be high society prices such a shame how so many great places are now ruined
The Tewks is reliable, but never spectacular. For the price is the food should be consistently excellent, but its just ok. Atmosphere is nice.
This is honestly one of the best meals I've had at a restaurant. I got the pineapple hanger steak, risotto of the day (goat cheese) and strawberry shortcake. Absolutely delicious!
I regularly come by getting some food here. I liked the quick customer service and well prepared food. Kudos.
Always a great experience. Food is awesome. Procey, but awesome.
Historic place that is a must if you have never been there.
Great atmosphere, awesome service. My friend had a huge salad that she loved. I had wings and we shared fries. Not crazy about the fries. Looked over cooked yet they were not crispy. Not a fan of soggy fries. But the wings were delicious. Glad we got there at noon when they opened because before too long they were absolutely packed! My father has been a regular here for 30 years but I don't live in the area so it my first time in about a decade. Really loved the atmosphere and spent over 2 hours enjoying it.
Food was great but service was lousy. They didn't bread to the table until we requested it which was after the appetizer was served. Our water ran dry and the whole feel to the place was doomed. We watched how friendly and attentive our waitress was to other guests. Their bread came right on time.I guess they don't expect black folks in Oldwick .we tipped accordingly to the service we received. This is 2018 folks.
The risotto is always to die for and changes frequently. No matter what you need to order it!
The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly! Will definitely be coming back!
I adore this spot! They give marvelous food, their menu is rich, The cook in that restaurant is a professional, I like a lot eating all their food. The dishes are always good, the attitude towards the customers is good. I visit often this restaurant and I was never discontended. I recommend it with no hesitation.
Always great food, drinks, and staff. They still have the best onion straws ever... Been ordering them on & off for over 30 years
Start to finish, some of the best meals I've had ANYWHERE. They are very food allergen conscious as well. If you like rice pudding, the rice pudding brulee is a must!
When a place is known well enough to go by its initials and they have bar menu items that aren't on the menu, you know it's good. Delicious, and very detail oriented on the dining experience. Not cheap, can draw some of those you know whos, but it still makes me a repeat customer. Love soccer Sundays at the bar also!
Very nice place. The food was good and service was great
We had dinner here for the first time this past Sunday. We put our name down at exactly 8PM with the outdoor hostess. She said it was 1/2hr wait time. She did NOT in anyway indicate it might be longer. My husband is diabetic so at 8:20 he took his insulin based on what we were told. At 8:45 still no table and the hostess didn't even say anything to us although we were in front of her on a bench. At 8:45 I asked what's going on. She said it will be another 10-15 min. I told her that's 1hr wait, not 1/2hr as she said. Her reply was "I can't control when people leave". We were getting very concerned about the insulin and waiting longer so we went inside to eat there although we wanted outdoor dining. They have 2 rooms inside and we liked one better. We asked to sit there and we were told they are about to shut down that room. Reluctantly we said ok to the other room which is kind of dark and noisy because the bar is in there. Even in there we were given the worst table right by the entry way where everybody comes and goes. WE WERE FED UP & DISGUSTED. We would have left but there were no other restaurants nearby and the insulin was a major concern. Just at that moment the outdoor hostess said she could seat us outside. I spoke to Roger (manager). He had no sympathy for us and said "well we can't throw people out you know". About 15 min later, I think he realized this was not the right way to respond so he came over, apologized and offered my husband orange juice. Later he came by again with his business card and reassured us that NEXT TIME we would not have any problems.
By the time our entrees came, the place had mostly cleared out. There were people at one table who had finished dinner and were just chatting and another couple was having desert. The staff was also cleaning up all around us. That was our ATMOSPHERE. I ordered Atlantic sole which was strangely 4 strips, dry, and piled one in top of the other. Fingerlink potatoes also dry mostly under the fish. My husband did like his filet mignon. We spent over $100 and needless to say we would NEVER RETURN.
I do believe we should have been offered something under the lousy circumstances but seeing what another customer said that he had to fight to get 50%off, its clear it was not going to happen. It must be the way they do things at the famous Tewksbury Inn. LESSON LEARNED!!!
Nice cozy local place. Ok food and atmosphere. Prices are probably a bit higher than they should be for the location but still worth a visit.
Above and beyond service and the food is sublime. Try the oysters, they are fresh and delicious!!! We went for lunch and had the trout and the BBQ Chicken Cobb salad, very tasty!!! Defenitely coming back for dinner. They also have vegeterian options which we have tried and are delish!!!
Reservation encouraged but NOT required, I didn't have any.
