Just had a phenomenal minimal stay with a group of friends at the Normandie. The hotel facilities are beautiful in classic, yet updated style and the restaurant, bar and speakeasy were a blast. Props to Eric at the front desk for fantastic service!

Older hotel but its clean. I've stayed here 3 different times and in 3 different rooms and each room has had some cool antiques in it. One room had vintage cigar boxs with playing cards. Another had a rabbits foot mounted on a glass box on the wall. They do have valet parking out front and a continental breakfast in the mornings.

A beautiful, upscale hotel with a good breakfast. I give it three stars because I left a piece of jewellery on the bed by mistake. I called 30 minutes after checking out but housekeeping had already come and gone - and they either had not seen it or not wanted to declare it.

Who is the FAT beer belly Manager with a snippy Attitude who thinks he can talk down to the world . I am the General Manager and I do not have time to waste on the likes of you. REALLY???? The Fat Fart did not know I was a Guest. He asumed. WRONG. Bad Mistake. You lost about 40 to 50 Rooms booked a year from one customer. Keep this up and they can close the doors for good, not re-model.

We.enjoyed our stay at ths hotel. It has a beautiful interior and the rooms are nice. Although the room was small it was just what we needed... comfortable bed, TV, AC and nice bathroom. They offer a complimentary light breakfast which is always a great addition. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

According to the LA Times this had a multi-million dollar revamp and you can definitely tell it was heavily invested in the lobby. I rented this hotel room for Labor Day weekend as part of the Made in America concert series. The overall room was pretty small, but it had a comfortable bed and a big enough TV to enjoy. The Hotel Normandie does lack a bit in amenities there is no pool and you even have to call the front desk if you want ice, but it is really convenient and affordable. I knew I didn't want to drive during the weekend and downtown hotel prices were ridiculous but Hotel Normandie was affordable and only a couple blocks away from the train station. Overnight parking is $29 dollars, but if you can commute here by train you can save even more money. If you are looking to be two train stops away from downtown LA and not pay downtown LA hotel prices than this is the place for you.

The hotel was a historical gem located conveniently in the popping area of Koreatown. The rooms are pretty standard, not at all modern, but scattered with little antique touches that make it special. There were a few perks, such as the complementary breakfast and nightly wine reception in the lobby, that made the stay extraordinary. They even offered me a free bottle of sparkling wine for posting about my stay on social media. The only reason I am not rating them 5 stars was the valet - that was hands down the worst parking experience I've had. It was $32 for mandatory valet and the guy didn't even approach my car and open the door. He watched as my husband and I got out of the car and we had to basically ask him to valet our car, as if it were a favor. Then he watched as my husband and I got our bags and half-heartedly offered help. He looked surprised when I answered yes, because I figured I might as well take advantage of his service. He got a luggage cart, popped our bag on it, and walked it inside the hotel a few feet to the lobby, where he left it and said the front desk will take it from there. Our luggage was left there until we eventually carried it up ourselves. All other staff was extremely accommodating and even gave a courtesy call to let us know we left some belongings after we checked out. I would definitely recommend staying here

The staff, service, and overall experience were amazing. But due to the age of the building, there is chipped paint and tiles. Plus the elevator creaks at an uncomfortable degree. However, I would definitely stay here again.

Oh mazing service. Such good service I thought i was being tricked.. all day soft serve, endless supply of snacks. Decent/loud room facing the street but the front desk offered me a suite I thought she wanted to charge me.. she was going to do a free upgrade but I misunderstood! Oh well!

Having my choice between The Line and Normandie. I...

Having my choice between The Line and Normandie. I chose Normandie for a variety of reasons.

Turning onto Normandie from 6th puts valet on your right (yes this lane becomes valet and pushes traffic back). Valet is not in a garage, but catty corner. Overnight parking is $32. You can do hourly, but it s also tied to the room, so it s paid at check out. Feel comfortable in checking in as your car may not get moved to the lot right away, fear not.

Lobby is quaint, a little rustic. Staff is helpful and informative. Prices are reasonable. May not be as big, nice, new as The Line, but it s got heart a haunted beating heart.

Personally I love the breakfast in the kitchen area, the wine social in mid-late afternoon and the access to Cassells. Break Room 86 is so hectic it s actually a turn off and plus I m more of a Normandie Club/Walker Inn person.

The elevator is slow as I walked to my 3rd floor room mostly. My room floor creeked a little, but my TV definitely turned on in the middle of the night. The remote was nowhere near me. I even took the battery s out just in case. This place is haunted, not all the rooms, maybe not the whole hotel, but some rooms for sure. I thought it would all be in my mind, but I guess I didn t have enough alcohol one night to pass out properly.

My room was clean. I wish it had black out curtains and was a little more sound insulated. The TV cuts out and has limited channels. Their room wifi is weak. I didn t even think about room service with so much around. The bathroom has good water pressure, but slow shower drain. The doors all open inward, so leaving the bathroom, closet door open didn t allow you access to the door into the room. Local art, unmatched room chair. The phone is across the room, the nightstands have 1 plug and it s for the lights themselves which makes charging your phone near your bed a little inconvenient, but know needs more than 1 light anyhow. Check out was a breeze, but it had to be done in the lobby, no room/tv check out. Breakfast 7-10, better than continental for sure. Wine was meh considering how well curated Normandie Club/Walker Inn s menus are.

Prices are decent, it s a quality hotel that s quaint and centrally located. Having bars/clubs, a variety of food nearby helps. Zion s market walking distance too. I will definitely stay here again.

the Normandy, I was fooled again!

the Normandy, I was fooled again!

You will be charged $20 extra a day for a service fee this service fee pays for Wi-Fi, a gym that s down the block, and a continental breakfast.
Shouldn t wifi be included with the rate?
Parking is $38 per nigh.
The continental breakfast is The most insulting breakfast ever presented. Literally packaged boiled eggs and Cheerios. Served in a sterile dirty cafeteria room.
The blackout shades in the rooms do not black out anything.
You can hear everything that your neighbor is saying, so good luck if your on a business trip.
Tubs are not clean and don t drain properly.
No place to hang your towel to dry.
The walls are repainted patchy and have suspicious stains.
It feels more like an SRO or flophouse from the 80s than boutique
If you re planning on booking here I suggest you do your research and book a place that is slightly more expensive but provides basic amenities no extra charge.
Or understand that you re going to pay $60 extra dollars on top of the quoted price, fo prepackage boiled eggs, parking, and Wi-Fi.

The Normandie Hotel is a nice little place hidden in Koreatown. The hotel has a sort of Great Gatsby decor and feel to it. Parking is valet only ($32) and they just park your vehicle for you in a lot across the street. There is a nice little restaurant slash bar underneath it, that's not affiliated with the hotel but convenient. Another good perk is that gas get unlimited water bottles for free!

This hotel is trying. It wants to be a boutique hotel but just doesnt quite get there. Not a bad room or bad stay but with a little more finesse could be really cool. Breakfast was dispointing.

I stopped by to take a complementary yoga class co-sponsored by the hotel. It was a fun experience and the hotel staff was also very accomodating. Will definitely stop by again some time. There is a hotel lot across the street, but depending on the time of day you'll be coming, there may be metered Street parking available.

The receptionists were very warm and helpful. There was complimentary wine that was being offered and the person was also friendly . Valet was courteous, rooms were clean and prepped with water, towels, and soap/shampoo. The only downside was the outside ambience that you could hear (our room was next to an all nighter restaurant?) and also the indoor ambience. Walls are somewhat thin so you could even hear some neighboring conversations. I suppose trying to sleep may be the gamble if you're sensitive to sounds but otherwise very pleasant and a nice place. Would stay again!

The hotel is great, the phenomenal location, in the Korean neighborhood, with many good restaurants nearby, plus good access to public transportation. The rooms were very clean. The bed was very large and comfortable. Breakfast was quite good. It is a very beautiful building. The very good treatment. Recommendable.

The hotel is clean and well located. Korea town is a safe neighborhood with multiple restaurants and it stays close enough to everything. However the hotel is VERY noisy. There is no double glazing so you hear the sounds of the road and the passion of Americans is to honk. The breakfast room is scary limit so much it is large, cold (air conditioned) and austere. However the breakfast is good, it lacks just a hot chocolate in my opinion but it is personal.

On the positive side:

On the positive side:
- The hotel offers some very solid amenities, including free filtered water, which is not something I've ever seen at a hotel before.
- The condition of the hotel is quite nice, and the hotel itself feels very homey and lived in, which makes it comfortable to stay at.
- The staff is polite and nice, and they really seem to be happy to be there.
- The hotel is directly above Cassell's, a restaurant that is legitimately excellent.

On the negative side:
- The hotel is unwilling to work with you in the event of an emergency; I had to miss a day of my stay due to a medical issue, and the hotel point blank told my travel agent that they were unwilling to work around that. I UNDERSTAND that, but I don't care for it regardless.
- The hotel only offers valet parking, despite clearly having a hotel accessible lot on the opposite corner from the hotel; there's no reason for this beyond wanting to charge customers money for valet parking, and I've never encountered a hotel that didn't at least offer the customer the OPTION to park on their own.
- I found a sock next to my bed that was definitely not mine, which doesn't speak well to the cleaning staff.
- The walls aren't especially thick, and while hearing outside noises is expected, hearing your neighbors doing their business is not.

Loved staying at this hotel. The hotel has recently been restored. Comfortable, clean rooms. Nice big comfortable lobby with several sitting areas. I didn't feel nickel-and-dimed every second. They give you free water. There's a free wine tasting every afternoon in the lobby. Attached to a wonderful diner-style restaurant (Cassel's). The staff was courteous and friendly. I did not experience any noise from "thin walls" that other reviews speak of. Great job guys!

We got a horrible room on their "Walker Inn" side. It faced an alley with no natural light, noise from people down below, STRONG SMELL OF CIGARETTE SMOKE ALL NIGHT from the smoking area of the bar about 15 feet away (AND from hotel and restaurant staff smoking right outside our room in the alley), ANTS all over the bathroom (found them crawling on our towels), and broken shower knobs with poor temperature control. We were also woken up at 6:45am to what seemed like an earthquake but turned out to be the DUMPSTER right under our window being moved and emptied.

I called down as soon as we smelled the cigarette smoke the first night, because I have a history of asthma and I am very sensitive to it. They said they couldn't do anything except have security go tell the smokers in the alley to leave (which they did, but they kept coming back). They did move us to another room the second night, and when I asked to speak to the manager (J.R. Billings), we were told that he would get in touch with us. He never did.

This entire situation and lack of response from management is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this class. At the very least, they need to invest in better insulation for any windows facing that direction. But honestly, please just avoid this hotel.

My husband and I checked this out for our wedding reception venue. The people who handled our inquiries were courteous and prompt, as was the gentleman who showed us around. Although we ultimately went with a different kind of venue, we loved the old-time L.A. vibe and appreciated its central location.

Valet service was kind of weird. I pull in front of valet & see 2 employees(one doing tickets another just standing there) & took a bit of time because I had to grab a bag but not one time was I acknowledged, so I was like ok guess I ll take care of myself & just get out then a black Audi pulls behind me & instantly gets a nice greeting & lots of help meanwhile I m still getting my bag out of my Kia(guess that s why I wasn t important) so I stand by the valet booth as he is helping the Audi gentleman & unfortunately I still had to take initiative for help. Fortunately, the front desk help was amazing. I guess if you re not in an expensive car you don t matter

This hotel is beautiful, has a lot of class and is very lively. Our room unfortunately was located right above the alley where a bar had it's outdoor area, so the noise made it hard to get rest until after 2am. The front desk was very apologetic and allowed us to change rooms, which ended up being perfect. Stylish and unique, love this place.

Love the old charm and lobby. The hotel is centrally located in the heart of Ktown. Lots of great restaurants and bars nearby and a short uber from Hollywood. The complimentary wine hour and parking were welcomed amenities. Rooms were comfortable but small and lacked some features you might find in a larger chain like irons in room, slippers, coffee machine etc. Regardless I'd definitely stay here again!

The location was perfect for anyone visiting LA for the food in Koreatown. It was also a perfectly (old) and renovated hotel with very cute decor. You can tell it s old because you can hear water running in the pipes when other guests shower or the construction outside, but I didn t mind it at all because it felt rustic and authentic. It was clean and decorated well to fit the whole theme. While I can normally be a little picky about hotels, I was really surprised by how much I liked this one.

One thing to note is they have spring beds which (in case that s an important thing to know for someone). They also have a mini fridge in the closet and serve complimentary breakfast in the mornings.

Clean, bright rooms. Comfy beds, great service at the check in counter. Nicely renovated but feels classic and boutique. The showers are amazing. There is no gym on site but free access to a huge one just down the street is great. 10/10 would stay again.

The strongest hotel in Cospa that is both nostalgic and modern in convenience.
The atmosphere is great and the service is good.
The water taps are also retro, and the towels and toilet paper are folded into shells, so the attention is very fine.

It feels like an old elementary school where the stairs are squeezed every time you climb a wood.
It was an irreplaceable experience!
The 1st floor cafe feels good too! !
It's like the world of "American Graffiti."
If you want to experience the extraordinary on a trip to LA, come on!

A clean room if a bit small, but with limited services and a price that speaks of higher things. The man who took our bags to our room was pleasant and helpful but I found the reception a touch terse. Really it is the price which sinks this to a two star review. I have stayed in hotels across the United states and have found many motels with spas, pools and gym suites for half the price and friendlier front desks. In addition the $29 per night valet service feels a touch on the nose after already paying for an expensive room and doesn't give you the option of self-parking. If you have, like we did, missed this fact hidden in the FAQ page of the website and have already booked then you are plum out of luck. If you are looking for a clean room and that is all, and you have more money than sense, stay here.
