Definitely wouldn't come again unless I knew exactly what the improvements were. Seems like my cash went towards the availability of the food selections rather than the actual attractions.

Staff was friendly-ish

The shark exhibition was the only saving grace, the line was pretty long especially because this was the only thing worth seeing.

Petting area was one corner for one fish. We didn't get to pet it because poor thing became irritated and we were asked to just wait longer on an already long line.....for one....fish...

The sea lion performance was pretty cool and educational as well... after this and the shark exhibition there was really nothing to do.

The aquarium was amazing! They have a variety of fish and I especially enjoyed the Sea lion show/feeding. It was excited, entertaining and educational at the same time. The 4D video outside of the aquarium was quite interesting as well and highly recommend.

Sharks display is interesting, cool, with some interactive dispkaus and multiple interesting points along the way.
Others areas are less interesting. There aren't any shaded areas and the hot day we had was not a good experience. Sea Lions show was very short, and the direct sun at the theater was simply horrible. Does not worth the show! The sea lions feeding at central park Zoo is much more fun than this.
The park toilet were old, smelly and dirty.
Kids had good time for the most. I'm not sure it's worth the price. Certainly do not arrive in hot weather.

It is beautiful and above all the sea lion show is very fun, but it is not very big (you can see everything in about 1 hour-1 hour and a half) and it is quite far from Manhattan (an hour by subway at least).

Still being rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy. Very little to see right now. A visit is less than an hour. I wouldn't recommend a visit unless you happen to be members of the Wildlife Conservation Society otherwise a trip probably doesn't warrant the admission unless you view it with an eye towards helping towards the rebuilding cost.

I've always loved the new york aquarium.
I've been coming here since I was a kid.
I really liked the new Sharks exhibit, but was disappointed that not all exhibits have been restored. I know it's all about the funds.
The kids loved it

It was nice me and the kids had an amazing time a little smaller than I expected overall good can't wait until they open the closed exhibits I definitely will be returning it's in an excellent area the beach is on the opposite side of the aquarium and there's an amusement park on the same side is aquarium

So many of the exhibits were under construction so we couldn't do or see much. Apparently there's "always something under construction" (said two of the employees). Most of what we saw was ok. Nothing jumps out as amazing. Then again sea otters are cool no matter where they are so as long as they're around it's worth it. Hopefully the construction adds to the needed flare. Great place to visit if you're already in Coney Island. Just wouldn't plan my trip around the place. You might not get to see what you came for

This aquarium is really nice for a day trip. It is not the largest or most impressive one I have been to, but it is a cool experience nevertheless. Cony Island is right there too, which might make for a cool extension of the trip. I recommend stopping by!

My 18 month loves it! my LO's excitement lasted the entire day after seeing the aquatic animals behind the gigantic tanks in the morning.
Tbh, the regular priced ticket is expensive considering the place is only big enough for 2 hours or so visit because 3 of the exhibitions have been closed since hurricane Sandy. Recommend to get membership if planning to visit zoos as well.

When I was a small kid I used to come here frequently and I liked it. But due to current construction it wasn't that interesting. I hope after the renovation it will be more interesting. For now I'll just give it a 3 star rating.

Currently undergoing massive construction (March 2018).

Around half of the place is shut down. I rated it at half of what the entire establishment might have received. If you have never been to an aquarium. this might ring the bell for you. If you have visited other aquaria, you will probably be disappointed.

Consider waiting until rehabilitation is completed.

The aquarium is currently being rebuilt, so a decent portion of the exhibits is closed at the moment. What's left open is pretty good, but exhibits can feel pretty crowded. The sea lions show, while not earth-shattering, was entertaining.

It was a cute little aquarium. The sea life shows are wonderfully done and lively with great music. Very east to navigate and super educational. The shark wall is an excellent and relaxing exhibit with great photo op potential.

The worst experience we ever had!!! We waited in line for Parking for about an hour to find out that there are no free spots. Parking attendance left and closed the parking entrance not even letting people in line know that there are not empty spots. The admission is way too high for what is to see, you need tops hour and a half for visit! Will never go back there it s too crowded and way too expensive and attendance don t give a star about visitors not even the small once!!!

It s been at least 10 years since I ve last been here and it s gotten much smaller than I remember. Otherwise this is a good day trip, you can finish this in about 2 hours but make sure to line it up with the sea lion feeding time/show too!

For this city simply not enough aquarium and much too short show with the sea lions and seals! The Haibecken is beautiful and modern, yes ... but you are through this aquarium faster than you think. 5 to 10 minutes inside and then 5 minutes (only 5 !!!) out in the show, that's about it on the whole. It is located here and there something in the expansion and redesign, but the entry price is worth this place even with one or two attractions still not worth it!

Very disappointed. Only thing I enjoyed was the shark exhibit. 2 exhibits were closed and you can't Bring strollers inside the exhibits, only a sea lion show which lasted no more then 15 mins no dolphins no beluga whales, and they still charged adults $39 to get in. Not what it use to be

It's so packed. You really can't move without bumping into someone and people are SOO rude. It's ridiculous. I recommend just watching something on YouTube instead of coming to this place.
