We are WCS members and visit from time to time. The new exhibit is nice, but the NY Aquarium pales in comparison to others on the east coast.
I don't think individual admission tickets are worth it simply because the aquarium is so small, but visiting as a member is worthwhile, especially combined with a day at Coney island.

Even though the aquarium itself is not that big, there are lots of fish and animals to see. Although it is more catered towards children, adults will definitely enjoy it themselves as well!
If you're a family in Brooklyn, make sure to get a Family Membership. You get unlimited admission to the Aquarium, Prospect Park Zoo, and Bronx Zoo. A great deal.
Love the Shark part and Sea Lion Show but I feel something is missing. Yes, Covid-19 made some area closed but I had been here few times before the Shark part of the Aquarium was still under construction. Anyway, my two toddlers enjoyed the Shark Tank.
It was a nice place, there is a lot of variety of fish, the aquarium is big and it has a movie theater, entertainment with sea seals, I recommend them.
In all honesty. I love this aquarium I grew up coming here when I was little for school trips so it has some type of impact towards me. Especially the sea lions. But I must say the constuction does give it some complication to enjoy the whole place but I know once everything is settled it will be like if nothing occurred.
It should be expected that the aquarium experience overall is limited due to Covid-19 concerns, and the steps they've taken to prevent the spread are unfortunate yet necessary. Most of the interactive displays and other exhibits that require touch are either turned off, or taped off. Also, the crawl-thru tunnels are blocked off. That said, there are ample hand sanitizing stations throughout the park. There are also 6' distance markers on the ground to promote (but not actually enforce) social distancing where people usually congregate at exhibits and line queues. Lines appear longer than they usually are, and are also slower as they limit the number of people entering each exhibit at a time. Masks are required. They have animal themed masks for kids and adults for $5. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly! Lastly, be advised there are NO ticket sales at the park. Tickets must be ordered in advance online. Wednesdays are free after 3pm, but you STILL need to get your free tickets online. They also honor military discounts on tickets (free for military member, and 50% off for guests) as well as discounts on in-park concessions/gift shops
Great place for families and kids to see the aquariums and dolphins show !!! Required to choose the right time for the weather to avoid the hot sun ... There is a cinema where the excitement of children I recommend to visit strongly Restaurants There are more than bad and choices are limited and I would not recommend their restaurants
Hadn't been to this place since I was most likely a teenager and went about 3 Saturdays ago and actually enjoyed it a bit. There was a seal show that you were able to attend and 4D specials available as well for kids to view. I would probably like to go back during like late Spring to see if certain animals would be present that weren't when I went like more tropical animals.
Grate place to take the family, but so much have changed from the last time ive been there. Not a fan of what it have become due to half of the park is closed and they still want you to pay full price. Only thing that save the Aquarium is the new shark exhibit, other then that dont waste your time going until they finish building the Aquarium.
Waste of my time! Waste of my money! We were here for 45 minutes. Got to see a cute sea lion show and walked around the shark exhibit that was NOTHING special. Dirty place. 1 exhibit was open. Everything else was closed. Those poor sea tutles. If an animal rights activist saw the condition of their tank, there would be an uproar.
I love the aquarium. The renovations are fabulous! Im so sorry to see that the beluga whale is gone. It was always my favorite animal to see since childhood. The seals never disappoint! They do however need to put some TREES out there the lack of shade is a killer during the summer visits!
I have visited multuple aquarium: Atlanta, Myrtle Beach and Va Beach and out of all of them this was by far the most disappointing. The water was dirty in the seal and otter tank so u had a hard to see them. The turtle display was cloudy and u could hardly see it. And from what I can tell it was only one. This aquarium is both indoors and outdoors which was totally unexpected. So if its cold outside be prepared. They dont have a cafeteria only one food truck that was supposed to accommodate all the guest in the park. Needless to say it was a very long wait. AND it was outside so we had to eat in the cold. Not a good experience for little kids. On a good note, the shark tank was impressive and I enjoyed that display.Needless to say I will NOT be visiting this location again. Just in case u are wondering Atlanta has the best so far.
A mediocre place and probably not worth the high price. Feeding sea lions is a matter of 5 minutes. A 15 minute performance. Two main buildings where there are huge and small aquariums where different types of marine creatures can be seen. Anyone who was at the Underwater Observatory in Eilat will be disappointed ...
There is a random price admission on Wednesday afternoon. But next to the beach, it is very dry. Children pay attention to hydration and sun protection.
We were at. January at the. Donation entrance on site, in summer there is more for the whole entrance fee. For me it was worth it, however, I find all prices in the USA quite overpriced. There were a lot of exotic fish to be seen, but I sometimes found that there were too many fish in the aquariums. The aquarium in lisbon is worth seeing
Overall, it was great. Especially being able to see the new shark exhibit but what was shocking and upsetting was to see that inside a tank where a sea turtle was there was plastic and it was consuming it. Knowing that you guys are advising not to use nor throw plastic in the waters this was certainly unacceptable. There should be more precautions!
