A great nyc experience for friends or family. I make sure and pay them a visit every few years. There is always something new and wonderful to see.

Didn't had a chance to enjoy this place because when I arrived was a long line outside (53 adults +children) to enter the place. I guess my chance will be next time
It's a great location for a summer visit because it's right next to the beach. However, most of the exihbits weren't open because it was under construction. Great for a family day out
They are still in the process of remodeling, but it only wants me to visit them once they are done updating. The new facility looks great from the outside, my 3 year old son thought it was an airport, lol. My 5 and 3 year olds loved the indoor exhibits, the temporary shark tank, and, of course, the sea lions and otters being fed... lots of fun on a rainy day! My one and only complaint was the dingy bathroom next to the shark tank, only 3 stalls were open, 1 one of the sinks not working, and 2 of the stalls without paper... it wasn't dirty, just old and not well kept. Oh, and no changing table in that one.
Currently most of the space is under construction, look forward to impressive new exhibits!
Half the place was shut down for renovations (explains why admission was half price).. The sea lion show was ok, but nothing spectacular. Saw everything else within an hour or so.. and the shark tank was kind of sad.. poor guys..
Great Aquarium that offers a variety of species and has a amazing seal show. Also penguins are fed and they look absolutely adorable!
Saw the show with the seal we love. To see a human and an aquatic animal have such good relationship. It's amazing. They deserve all the credit in the world keep up the good job guys
Place sucked I expected a lot more for the money. They are renovating since forever and I don't expect it to be much more than it is now. Went to the was new Toronto aquarium now that was well worth the money
The aquarium is being renewed. The ticket is cheaper but not much to see
its under construction st the moment so not much to do. but with ticket pushes u do get the 4d show that makes up for the lack of things to do. but once finished i think its definitely be worth going.
I love it
is amazing
The Sea Lion show was amazing. Staff is very courteous, and the summer 50% discount when you buy online helped a lot.
They just made major renovations and even put in a state of the art shark exhibit. They should not charge full ticket prices while under renovation!
Educational and exciting. Lots of fun to be had by all ages
A great outting for children. Small facility which is financed through contributions and is recovering for Hurricane Sandy.
Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. About 150 yards from Q train station and about 3 blocks
from Nathan's and Luna Park.
The new shark exhibition is fantastic, particularly for young kids.
Do not waste time and money on the "4-D theater".
Otherwise, cool experience.
Great aquarium in Coney Island. 4D Theater was awesome and Aquatheater show was fun. The restaraunt was still under construction. Only one food truck opened when I was there. So eat before/after your visit.
About two of their major exhibit in the Aquarium is currently being renovated. The remaining exhibits are the Conservation Hall, AquaTheater and the new Shark Exhibit. The Shark exhibit has the long line and took about 45min during the weekend to go in.
Lots of unadvertised exhibits closed. Should be on the website that there were closings before you get there and pay to see half of the aquarium.
Beautiful Aquarium with new renovations in the works with a brand new exhibit and building opening soon!
Disappointed in the show. Waited in line longer then the show
Nice displays and new exhibits since my last visit years ago.
Still remodeling from hurricane Sandy. I'm sure the new exhibits will be awesome when completed next year.
I have a wcs membership and live very close, so my family goes to the aquarium often. It's small, and even with trying to stretch it out, the most you could stay is 2 hours. The new shark exhibit is amazing. Going in the winter is great because it is not crowded. But the rooftop bar and shark tank is not open in the winter. Looking forward to additional exhibits opening in the future.
I am sorely disappointed in the Aquarium. Several of the attractions were closed. I don't mind paying full price so long as I have access to everything the Aquarium has to offer. I was more impressed with the boardwalk...and that was FREE.
They are still rebuilding most of their displays due to Super Storm Sandy damaged. Parking is $30. No underwater viewing, no jellyfish display and Hudson community display.
Tickets are currently half off because half of the exhibits are closed.
The aquarium was awesome the only problem I had is that they didn't have any whale sharks and that the 4d show didn't include the goblin shark. But besides that it was amazing and I definitely recommend it
Not worthy for the entrance fee. sea lion show was not good and very short presentation. Tip: 4D short film is included in the ticket so you must avail.
The aquarium is small, overpriced and crowded. Just few exhibitions. It took me 30 minutes to see all of the attractions. We didn't see the show though.
The aquarium was ok not much to see due to renovations.
Really nice atmosphere. Good place to visit. Especially whrn u have kids.
Disappointed, worst management. Dirty water... poor animals. They should have better learned from the aquarium, the one in Camden, PA.
Loved it here! I hadn't been since it was rebuilt. My 2.5 year old son ( and my boyfriend lol) absolutely loved it. The shark exhibit is really cool, you walk in and the tank surrounds you side to ceiling to side. There is another tank that has a crawl space for toddlers to crawl under the tank to see the fish. There is also a skit put on for the kids which he loved to. Great for children and adults.
Nice place. N great SeaLion show.. Definitely worth one visit. Waiting for the renovation of the place, for greater views.. Enjoyed the 4D theater also, though yet wondering how the ice-age show was connected to the aquarium.
Perfect for the little ones with a very entertaining sea lion show
Plenty of learning to be had. The only thing is that this aquarium only has selected exhibits and last time I was there about 1 month ago for family outing it was under construction!
Beautiful place, expensive food though and most of it is under construction.
Needs an upgrade, this place hasn't changed in decades. The lines are long and you definitely do not get your money's worth. The shark tank has yet another ridiculously long line because it is the only thing if interest. You can quickly get board of the penguin tank, limited fish tanks, and one sea turtle. Just plan a proper trip to the San Diego Safari Park if you want an authentic experience with wild life.
A super long line under the sun. The line hostess didn't know anything about the NYC sightseeing pass. She told us the passes were no longer accepted. Totally wrong information. My children hated it. Very small place for such efforts. We didn't get to see the sharks because we refuse to make another long line under the sun.
Love coming here with the little ones. Always a treat to see the animals and the staff is great
this was a great place to spend a few hours. They even have half priced after 6:00 I believe. And great time to go with your family.
Dejected, apparently due to the fact that the reconstruction.
The "shows" are entertaining but fill up quickly. Will wait out the construction for next visit as the cost doesn't justify the limited exhibitions, especially the parking fee.
Very cool place. The seal would not stop yelling. Please get it help
Dont waste your money 12 dollars to get in wait till friday 2 get inafter 3 for donation 1.00 or more not worth. It 6 yrs they been building a big time exhibit still not done gag
I couldn't believe this was New York's aquarium. It was an absolute waste of time.
Second time I go here. Not really big but it looks very promising because they are building a new indoor section and it looks amazing. I'm just going by the pictures. It's very hard to spend more than an hour here to be honest. I probably won't come back until they open up the other section unless I go to Coney island then I'll probably pass by. Great for kids though, my daughter loved it but I wish there was more. The price is reasonable for what they have.
VERY BEAUTIFULL! I'm only sorry that the tunnel was closed.
Most of the park was closed, and the parts that were open didn't have anything exciting...
The otters were cute.
Loved this place as a child. It has aged well. Many exhibits are closed for the season so make sure you check to see if your favorite is open before going.
Beautiful this is a good place to go with all family!
Nothing to write home about. Horrible lines and not much variety.
The New York Aquarium. An excellent place to visit. Just had a trip their recently at time of this post. It is still under some renovation and repair but nonetheless is an excellent spot. It is easily accessible via the N F D Q More
Worst aquarium in the country. Even the new shark zone isn't deserving of being in NYC. A real gap in the NYC wildlife attractions.
This place is pretty awesome if you have those science vouchers. They are still rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy but so far it is very nice. They have sharks, exotic fish, puffins and so much more. The gift shop is pretty cheap and I got some souvenirs.
This place is awesome! They have done a great job with the little space they have. Can't wait to see what they do when they open the new expansion.
Good place to visit and educate kids about sea animals and how to protect our environment.
I found that new sea lion show become much shorter compared to few years ago.
New shark aquarium is a great place to see ocean live.
Food is ok but have not found any healthy choices
