Overly long lines during school vacations with limited show space

The shark area is great. It has a overhead aquarium that has sting rays sharks etc.. Very good for the kids and adults . Mr. Michael our type guide was excellent patient and interacted very well with the kids .I enjoyed this experience with my sons school

Great place to go with or with out kids . It's a fun day for all

Best part of the Aquarium was the Sea Lion show....nothing to really see

Was an amazing experience its perfect for all ages and the new shark tank is pretty cool even though im scared of shark. And even though the line was very long due to donate what ever you want to enter on Wednesday. It was amazing experince and lots of fun to go with my big sister who came in town to visit

Fun place for all ages. Must love fish seals & all sea animals.

You got to choose the day to go too many ppl at once

Still under renovation. Too small for the price and commute. Avoid unless you live nearby or you are already planning to spend a day in Coney Island.

Were at the end of January 2016. There was a repair. There was free admission to this case. On the week. Look at the official site of the aquarium - there is information about such days. There s nothing special to watch. The penguins were funny, but at first they came out and wanted to dive, and then they turned and went back.

A very awesome aquarium for the family or just to learn. Can be crowded, but is really worth walking through not too pricy...

It wasn't as I expected. Really wasn't much to see. It was small. Thank goodness we only had to pay half of the full price

Fun little aquarium. Hit Coney island and the aquarium too. Sharks are in temp area. New area not open yet....

Great place. Riverhead aquarium is better, but it's way out east and luckily Brooklyn aquarium is included in membership to Bronx zoo

It's being rebuilt, but open to the public. Should not be open, almos all attractions closed. Very disappointing.

it is still recovering from storms and the hurricanes. I hope that they can bounce back and build the reputation they held before the disasters.

I have always loved the New York Aquarium since I was a small child. This experience was no exception. I especially loved the tunnel tank where you can see the sharks swimming overhead.

Coney island and new York aquarium it's a good grace

The AC was broken, so many people inside. Half the aquarium was shut down for repairs.

There where like 5 indoor fish tank and 2 seal a 10 mins tour for $20

Great day in the city and in the New York City aquarium, I braved the cold and it was so worth it! The sea lion show was fantastic and so fun! All the staff where so helpful, there was an announcement when the shows started. Great day:)

It was ok. Before the flood. No idea what the new renovation looks like.
Price to get in is ridiculous.

Total disappointment!!! If you are coming from out of state to visit this aquarium do not waste you time and money. I live in NY and wanted to do something fun with my 15 month old and a few kids. Upon arrival, going into the park i was stopped by an employee, he stated i am unable to go into the park with my child's tricycle stroller it's a hazard to other visitors inside and he stated it was very packed inside. I asked for a manager, and another employee came and stated the same thing. I went back to the car and got another regular stroller i had. when i go into the aquarium, there was not a lot of visitors (as i was told the park was packed). And then my second disappointment, there were not much sea animals to view (there were just four or five animals). As a person that lives in NY to visit there it was such a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and the kids were also so disappointed. I visited this park on June 25, 2016. The cost to get in the park was also ridiculous due to the fact there was nothing to see.

Great place for kids and the sea lion show was a spectacle.

The Aquarium is great, but small and under construction. It is dwarfed by aquaria in Europe and elsewhere, such as Baltimore, Camden or Boston.

A wonderful place to spend the afternoon, but be prepared for huge crowds (mostly kids and parents with pathway-blocking prams, so come with a little patience and navigational side-stepping skills, or if you are said parents, please be more considerate and don t hog the narrow pathways. Now, the exhibits are wonderfully presented and maintained, the outdoors sea otters, shark tunnel and panoramic display of various sea creatures being my favourites to marvel at. Do make time for the entertaining sealion show at certain times during each day, and come prepared with sunscreen and water to stay hydrated.

They r renovating which is good because this is a boring, lame aquarium with very little to see or do especially given how expensive it is to get in.

Try to go there at the morning, way to crowded at 2-5pm

Pretty nice. But I don't understand why admission would be still high when half the aquarium is still under construction. And I know it was but it's been under construction for 5 years if my math is correct. Because they had gotten some serious damage during Hurricane Sandy.

Many areas closed and no place to have lunch in the shade shade... with children this is a real negative point.

However, friendly employees.

Amazing place invested and relaxing and a beautiful appearance, a little expensive Parking a little expensive is better to shop in the area and save the money from the parking

It has a lot of aquatic life but it's too small. Luckily there's the new area under construction that has a lot of promising features. I see a lot of potential for this aquarium and I can't wit to see it.

Loved the animals! The sharks were amazing! The Sea Lion show was so cute

New sharks exhibit is great. It was well worth the wait. We went on a friday evening and it was less of a crowd ,and could enjoy it at a slower pace

Good exhibitions. Should reinforce social distancing more. Lots of people very close to each other. We should not let our guard down.

Great experience for the kids. Food options are pricey

If you can, see the Sea Lion Show! It s one of my favorite things to do there! Although it s still under construction, there are still many sea life fish and others to see

Great location with the trains & beach right there. Great new exhibits added like the shark exhibit which is amazing! Can't wait for the new exhibits to open.

I really liked this aquarium, well assembled and with many species on display. Worth the visit.

I liked the aquarium but unfortunately a lot wasnt open. I'm looking forward to going back once the whole park is open. I'm also glad that we found street parking because parking is $45! I couldnt pay that much for just the two of us.

I think it's a bit pricey but it certainly was an educational trip for my 6 year old, however I thought the sea lion show was a waste of time, our show was supposed to begin at 1 but started one or two minutes late and was over by 1:10, so we actually spent more time waiting in line to get in than the actual show itself. It's nice that you can just walk over to Coney Island and the boardwalk though.

Worst thing Ever. I went there with my family, and half the exhibits were closed. The line for the shark exhibit was at least an hour wait, and there was no A/C indoors. Also the lady said the stingray exhibit was closed for 6 years. Why didn't they do anything to it then? At the end you could rate your experience and I put the mad face like 20 times. Please don't waste your time and money here.

Just a beautiful place...great place to visit with your family!!!! Shark tank and the sealion show is highly recommended....

Went at 6pm when the tickets are discounted and the crowd is smaller. Fantastic show, great time.

Not the biggest Coney Island fan so wasn't sure what to expect with the vibe of the Aquarium and I loved it, it definitely overdelivered on my expectations. The shark exhibit is amazing and it's worth a trip just for that. I saw advice in another review to time your tour of the shark exhibit while most everyone else is at the sea lion show and that was some wise advice that I wholeheartedly pass along. There's also an outdoor cafe/bar on the top of the shark exhibit with an amazing view of the ocean that I completely stumbled across by accident and am so thankful I did. The only "sad aquarium" moment was a very clearly ancient outdoor tank with giant sea turtles in it which I have to assume will be updated soon to keep up with the rest of the exhibits.

at least once you need to visit here! new you will not see anything, but for the sake of curiosity)) sharks - this is the most important point of interest here))

Nice but few attractions. The penguins never came out and I didn't see them. Restaurant closed. High cost for duration

Small aquarium,New facility take years not opening, charge my 3 yrs old son $20 but not much to look.

The sea lions and the fish... Can't wait to see it fully built out

The lines can get really long but it's good for a toddler who likes running around. Not too bug so it's a manageable chase for an out of shape parent in her late 30s.

Nice improvements made to our Brooklyn Aquarium. Nice to visit and spend time with family.
