Great, quiet hotel a few minutes outside of Inverness. We particularly enjoyed our relaxing evening in the lounge trying various whiskies. Our server (Andrew) provided some great recommendations on what might be good to try and had the patience of a saint with another guest who would not stop telling him 30 minute, rambling stories.
Pros:
- Extremely spacious rooms
- Free continental breakfast with several made-to-order items (also free)
- Ample parking
- Quiet location
Cons:
- Had an 'old money' feel to some of the furniture, but that added to the charm. Everything was new and clean (no musty smells or anything).

Staff had completely confused our booking not sure how 'lunch' could be written down and mistaken apparently for 'afternoon tea'. Zero ambience in the restaurant, I believe no other lunches were taking place that day, which explains the limited, last minute, thrown together menu that we were given. The main was incredibly over salted. Staff need to be more attentive - perhaps tidying tables of Christmas cracker wrappers, taking menus when finished ordering, topping up everyone's drinks so they're not going thirsty, asking if any extra bread is needed, checking back to see if food is okay. As a waitress myself these things seemed basic to me, I would have expected more from much more up-market hotel.
