We have enjoyed our stay in the classic suite , although someone has had a lot of fun in the room above us and we could hear almost every.
The breakfast was very tasty, good choice of menu.The dinner -we had an amazing desert but you need to pay attention to what dishes you choose as the chef is very adventurous with the condiments and ingredients choices.

Well... we stayed overnight for a birthday treat which included having dinner. It was definitely a tale of two halves. We were very disappointed with the room (16) which is outside of the hotel attached to the courtyard. It felt as if we had gone back in time and I was visiting my Grandma. The outer porch smelt damp and was decorated with plastic flower pots. The room itself was very very small (more plastic flowers) and non too clean, cobwebs and dust aplenty. (We have photos). The shower room was a good size but needs TLC even the door hook was missing. Behind the toilet needed a clean (cobwebs) as did the ceiling & best not to mention the toilet paper. Little touches such as bottled water and decent loo paper may help but as we said to the young lady on reception we could have taken an inexpensive taxi ride and slept somewhere much more comfortable. We also left our details for contact to discuss our issues. The restaurant however was a different story; the food was excellent and most of the staff were polite and attentive. Our only issue with staff, being the person who initially seated us who was a little abrupt (to be fair she was busy). The restaurant itself is obviously very popular but does have the feel of a school or works canteen (think loud and booming with the addition of cutlery). Unfortunately it does not do it as well as the excellent Altrincham Market House.

Wonderfull place and view for the rear, the price of drinks are a little much

Very disappointed with the service for tonight s meal. Ordered soup of the day which came with no spoon, had to wait a long time for the tables to be cleared for which I could then order another drink that was never to come which forced me to leave my table during the main course to order that drink which then came to my table a while later. There is no real experience among the service team which has unfortunately lead to poor experience but if you are willing to wait and take matters into your own hands then the food is excellent and had no flaws

Saturday lunch with family. As usual a great selection on the menu. On this visit the service was a little slow it the food was tasty and hot. The menu is changed frequently so always something new to try.

Close to the centre of Shrewsbury , beside the river Severn, this is a lovely place to spend a quiet weekend away form it all. Nice food, very friendly staff and a great breakfast to start the day!

Beautiful scenery by the river.
Sunsets provided great lighting.
Had the fish and chips, soup, sides and sticky pudding were great!
Recommend.

One of our meals went back (small portion). But we were refunded the other 2 meals. Enjoyed my pie. Will have to try here again.

Accomodation was average but the food and service were very good

Cosy place situated by the river Seven. It's a great place for a stop at a sunny day as there is lots of outdoor seating including some at the river bank. However, it can be very busy and it is rather pricey if not even over priced.

Stopped by for a spot of lunch glad we got there abit early as is very busy. Waiting staff very welcoming and did a fab service. We had the chefs special soup and I had the duck while my partner had soup and the burger could not fault one bit of our experience mytton fantastic staff fantastic food worth every penny

Attended a funeral wake on Monday 24 Oct 2016 - we were very impressed by the standard of service and food. The surroundings are lovely and it made the occasion very pleasant and memorable as it should be.

A nice place always has been. A bit overpriced though. Service was really good. I've not eaten there recently but when I did food was pretty good. The place does lack a bit of atmosphere due to the more reserved mature customers.

Delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Like so many small British hotels there is a need for refurbishment and consideration made for people with disabilities and physical impairments. The shower in room 15 was difficult to use as it was up small, steep tiled steps with little room for manoeuvering,, no hand holds and water dripping on them from the door. We enjoyed the stay and would stay again for a one night and food.

Lovely welcoming staff. The food is to die for. Looking forward to going again. Thank you.

Good rooms, nice area and a pleasent place to visit

Lovely surroundings, but was quite disappointed with our meal and service on our last visit. In the past it's been excellent, maybe just an off day???

Attended a wedding in the hotel. Very tentative staff and excellent service overall. Rooms we've seen benefit from good size. Bar have some excellent dishes and drinks selection.

Excellent place to grab a drink and enjoy the sun. The food is excellent and service very good. Rooms are of a standard and extremely comfortable.

Very stylish restaurant in a beautiful riverside location and opposite a NT property. Eaten here four times: a wedding; evening meals, and; cream teas. Every time with one exception a high standard. Recommended

Lovely surroundings with a nice and tidy hotel, but the room I stayed wasn't great. Single room but not at all comfortable, stayed 3 nights and just couldn't get comfortable. If I was to attend again I'd definitely choose a double room and take my own pillows!

Went to family birthday afternoon tea here. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. A stand of food arrived on our table of 5, as it was being put down, we were told it served 3 people. No problem with that but 10 minutes later no More

Sent them an email after my stay to say how dissatisfied and disappointed we were about the food, and didn t even get a reply. It shows how much they value the customer. I won t ever go back. It s a shame because the building is lovely. The food is awful.

Unfortunately the staff insist their parmesan is vegetarian - this isn't possible due to the method of production required to permit it to be called parmesan. Otherwise it is a nice place to eat.

I love this pub restaurant. My first time for a Sunday roast menu though and amazed at the range of roasts on offer. Very good, friendly and attentive service as always. Well worth a visit.

It was ok. Had a fish finger sandwich which should have been served with chips but was served with crisps instead, and it was cold. Could do better.

This was our first visit and we loved it. We've eaten at the other restaurants connected to here and have always enjoyed their food.

Very nice. Just sat and had a drink in a lovely environment. Table's all set for festive Sunday lunch. Price a little bit high but worth it.

Really lovely, we celebrated a wedding there. Rooms very good, food excellent, surroundings wonderful. Could have done with more bar staff especially on a wedding night and clean glasses. We were expected to drink a G&T from a wine glass which was not going to happen but the impoliteness of the girl did not spoil the fab time we all had at the wedding and the rest of the wonderful staff.

Lovely restaurant. Absolutely nice staff, very friendly, very helpful. Food was good (cant say it was the best I ever had, but it felt that way, because of excellent service). Stunning views, nice riverside. Very cosy and comfy. Definitely will be back again, once I m back to this area.

Food and drink were fantastic, staff were great but only fault was no parasols and very little shade. Please provide parasols during hot weather

Went here for brunch had the full English it was amazing my daughter had the gypsy toast. And loved it.

Great hotel set on the bank of the river Severn. Breakfast and evening meal very good, they were able to accommodate my wife's dietary requirements

Following a stay at this hotel myself and my partner were injured after a faulty rotten bench collapsed. After 3 weeks of trying to communicate with the manager and staff I have been totally ignored forcing legal action. No concern at any time has been shown by this hotel or it s staff other than comments about having a heavy meal the night before. It s a simple brush under the carpet situation
