Good location, excellent food, good for something to eat if you are at Attingham Park.

Booked for an important family celebration, entire visit shambolic, Barstaff who do not know what Dry Sherry is, Restaurant Staff that can't locate a Menu, which when it arrives is pretty poor, almost an hour between 1st and 2nd course, of which 50% inedible. Proprietor who should understand that a partial refund is not ever going to make up for a totally spoiled evening. Had expected to be given a reason for terrible experience, but from their response this was a pretty typical evening. Advice - give it a miss.

After funeral gathering, the buffet was simply delicious, beautiful ingredients and enjoyed by everyone. The red onion tartlets were amazing and undoubtedly the star of the show. Highly recommended .

I shared a very pleasant evening with close work friends at The Mytton and Mermaid. Tge restaurant was nicely decorated and although there were a number of diners, tge atmosphere was calm and peaceful. We selected meals from the Festive menu. Service was great and meals were filling. Prices were reasonable too.

Excellent facilities for work event. The food provided was top drawer. Lovely scenery.

From the moment we decided to have our Christmas wedding at the Mytton Mermaid we were made to feel like our day was very important to them. Kim Wood was simply amazing, nothing was too much trouble and she instantly embraced my vision for the day and delivered accordingly. The food was simply exquisite and the staff friendly and profession. We would highly recommend the Mytton & Mermaid and will always regard it with great fondness. Steve and Tanya Derham xx

had THE most relaxing break. stayed in the suite, few issues with the shower flooding but everything else was wonderful. right next to the river so spent the evening on the bank with a glass if wine. definitely worth the extra cost to stay here and we will visit again.

Standard of the rooms seems very variable. Mine was dated and tired but my friend's next door was much nicer.

Lovely hotel our second time staying here and we stayed this time in the little building to the side of the main hotel, the room in this part wasn't as nice as the main hotel but still pretty good.

Lovely place to stay. The staff were so friendly and full of smiles. The food was glorious as were their choice of drinks. I would certainly stay there again.

Had Xmas Day Lunch here today excellent in every way ,such a welcoming place staff so friendly atmosphere warm and inviting food great nothing too much trouble will be back again next year and also throughout the year .Mary Jones

Lovely setting but menu is not as good as it used to be, should stick to good pub grub.

Menu was great. Not the cheapest of places to eat however to meals looked incredible.

Only had a bowl of chips but they were brilliant!! Crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. And the portion size was really good.

Great feel to the bar area, large comfy sofas or table and chairs to choose from.

Staff were very well presented and extremely professional, friendly and helpful.

Will definitely be returning for a full meal.

Very nice place to eat and drink however when sitting outside it is quite loud as you are next to the road, but you could always go inside. The staff were very helpful nice and efficient. Definitely reccomend and will be visiting again!

Lovely place to visit as it's beside the river, lovely views. but the drinks are very expensive and staff behind the bar are very slow.

Attended a party here, surprised by the amount of room and versatility of the place. Great atmosphere.

Didn t stay had afternoon tea which was extremely disappointing! Mould on cream , lack of service basically had food put on the table and staff were not seen again ! Sandwiches were stale and cakes awful . Not the afternoon I was expecting . Very , very poor .

A reasonable hotel/bar/restaurant just outside Shrewsbury - a wedding venue which probably says it all.

Food is OK, some of the best around these parts, however the standard has defiantly dropped. We sat down to no cutlery. The staff didn't really seem to care all that much. It's a shame because the setting is lovely and the food HAS been truly amazing in the past.

Husband treated me for my 40th birthday.. Lovely place.. Friendly warm welcoming staff .. How ever ordered our first drinks on our booked table, after waiting 15 minutes we had to ask again for our drinks ... Food was fantastic.. After 10mins on my ordered I had to find a member of staff and asked for my forgotten veggies... My husband had to find a member of staff again to reorder more drinks... And again to order pudding.. Again ice cream was forgotten and bee pollon!! On puddings.. And again to to ask for the bill only to find the bill was incorrect we was charged for 4 items which had we didn't have. After working the bill out... our bill was still incorrect couldn't be bothered to correct again and patently waiting for the staff member to work the change out after she amittly herself she couldn't work it out.... followed by a toilet visit with tissue and toilet roll all over the floor.. Toilets dirty... Hand wipes screwed up on the floor... Wasn't like this when we got married there 9 yrs ago.. Shame.

A quiet place in the outskirts with a large garden where you can spend a pleasant time. The prices of some products are high, but generally good. I did not like that you have to get up and take the cutlery.

For what you charge you really should review your menu and service, it was nice and cosy because you were very quiet, but why do you think you are quiet while everywhere else in Shrewsbury was heaving today... there is

s o m e
improvement to the menu since my last visit... but delivery of it is poor. It is not okay to serve muddy carrots with soil at the bottom of the dish, there's nothing glamorous about that. Overpriced...and portions are small and the only thing I found nice was gravy, stuffing and my drink.

I have stayed overnight before and the room was clean and lovely, restaurant food and service doesn't live up to that.

Food great some staff thought they was above themselfs . I had two disabled people with me and the girl/lady on entering sort of looked down on us making us all feel unwelcome I'm strong person so we stayed wanted to complain but food was wonderful couldn't fault it

High quality finish to the decor only excelled by the service.

Polite staff, great menus, quiet mid week. Always a good venue. Would like to do dinner but live to far away to trust myself with their excellent beer selection, Butty Bach, Shropshire Lad, Woods etc

This is a beautiful place but I was sadly very disappointed with the food.

A great atmosphere for a quick bite or something larger at any time of day with friendly staff, an excellent stop on a sunny day as the outdoor seating is expansive and has wonderful views of Atcham and the River Severn

Our stay with the Mytton and mermaid was absolutely amazing, amazing food, couldn t fault it even if I tried, everyone was so friendly and welcoming, the room we stayed in was GORGEOUS! 100% the best hotel either have us have stayed in!
I look forward to coming back, the only sad part about our stay was the leaving part, the stay was perfect, not one thing went wrong, I think the prices are very good for what you get and the amazing taste, thankyou to everyone at the hotel that makes it amazing!

Amazing place to stay with a unique short story of the origin of the name of the hotel. It has a lovely view of the nearby river and has a serene atmosphere.

Lovely wedding venue by the river and restaurant with great food.

Generally the food here is very good, however on my last visit I was disappointed. The starter was overpowered by a very acidic sauce and the main wasn't substantial enough. dessert was excellent and having had good experiences here in the past I will go again.

A little pretensius and the place could do with a little love and care
