i have seen so many great shows here. back when it was officially the "music box". great venue, storied and interesting location. i hope all the red tape has been sorted out and we can see some great shows here again!
Nice venue. We enjoyed our time there. They opened doors a bit past the time they said they would but not sure what happened. Drinks were pricey but good.
Oh, The Fonda, how I love you so! This is a great theatre. It's the perfect size for intimate shows but it's not run down like some other venues in LA. In fact, seats on the balcony look new and are comfy. Floors aren't sticky. The bathrooms are clean and decked out in an elegant black. I've seen two shows here and they've both been fantastic in all regards. Acoustics are excellent and there really isn't a bad seat in the house, so you don't have to stress too much about getting there super early if you have balcony tickets. The one drawback: yes, drinks are absurdly overpriced (we're talking $12), but let's be real, what venue doesn't have overpriced drinks?? Just skip the drink at the venue and get one elsewhere before or after the show and you'll have no complaints!
Gorgeous theatre with great artists visiting frequently
Easy to park in the lot next door, organized security procedures, good views inside, with great acts. I haven't had anything from their bar. The sound mixing and levels are usually great. I love the huge crazy Bosch characters on the walls!!!
The Fonda is an objectively bad venue. I will explain why. Unless you are being paid to give a good review or don't have a lot of experience seeing different concert venues, you would agree. Avoid it if you can, unless your favorite artist is playing there.
It has all the sheen and overzealous luxury of Hollywood, which almost kills the good music. First, they have too much security and procedure just to get in. There are security people all over (most of them are not friendly and act like you're an idiot just for being there and not knowing all the rules. Some of them are cool though) who direct you every time you enter or exit the stage area, checking your wrist band every time. The drinks are overpriced. I got a $12 Paloma that was not tasty. You cant open a tab and have to charge every time (I guess it earns them more tips). They don't have cups of water, which is cruel. Bottled water is $3 and there is a drinking fountain upstairs, but hey guess what, it doesn't work. These are the small details that make it bad. As for the sound, it's too loud, and just not as acoustically balanced as other places.
I'm not going back here unless it's music I really really love.
Getting in was an easy process, you do need to wait in line sometimes (outside).
attire is casual maybe a bit more. you can buy drinks inside, I haven't seen any food.
Downstairs is standing area in front of the stage.
Upstairs is chairs setting, BUT be early to your show if you don't want to be standing behind all the people that got one! chairs are limited.
There are club-tables with a bottle if you want to buy.
If you do end up standing up in the upstairs area, don't bother asking every time you see a free seat!! people go to pee you know...
Great small venue to see shows with a rooftop vip lounge
Great sound and not a bad view in the theater. Flew here from Chicago for this show and was NOT disappointed.
Awesome venue. Great Sound. Love the rooftop for smoking. Kind of expensive drinks.
Really nice place to party , bad drinks but I had good time in a 80 prom Party
Went to the Aquabats on a weekend evening. We sat in the balcony and had a great view of the stage and the crowd below. It was a fairly full show but I never felt crowded.
I've gone to two concerts at the Fonda and I have to say, this is probably the best place to go for any concert. The price is $30+ for the groups I wanted to see and you were able to sit down on the balcony or go down to the floor. I loved how interchangable to 'seating' is and that they have this wonderful outdoor rooftop setting on the second floor.
Employees are polite and knowledgable so they were always of great help if needed. Everyone knew what they had to do so getting in line for these concerts are quick and easy.
The bar was so-so. I'd recommend just sticking with their pricey beers because their cocktails are very diluted and not very good.
Great times. I took this photo of Bad Brains from the balcony
This was a fun venue to play at. Great Sound crew great stage setup and a great audience.
Amazing, intimate place to catch your favorite artist.
If you get there on time for a high profile show, you can usually be the first-ish in line and get good front row standing space.
Been here several times for several different artist and always a good time.
Theres parking attached to the side but I do believe its between $10-15. Maybe more since it's been a while.
You know what's better than seeing a show inside the Fonda? Watching the live feed of the show from ON TOP OF THE FONDA while drinking a cold drink. Boom. We said it. (The Thrillist)
This venue is pretty nice. I think the sound system or mixing is not as nice as a few other venues I've visited but I'd absolutely come back for a band I like.
Intimate music venue in the heart of Hollywood, USA. Respectably priced drinks for Hollywood, cool retro decor, and the rooftop smoke area w/ bar gets lit during the opening to main act break. Very huge to cult favs. LA staple.
Cool little old vintage performing / bar center for bands to play at.
Went to an 80s party here and it was absolutely amazing they had a life and. Highly recommend huge theater
Small old fashioned venue. Perfect place to see a show.
I love it here. Nice and small intimate shows. Always can get here easily by taking the red line.
Went here to see Black Label Society. The show was awesome!!! Sound was perfect. Although, right before thr show started, my husband's seat broke! Other than that, our experience was great.
One of the better mid-sized venues to see live music in Los Angeles.
Our first time there and it turned out to be an awesome venue with very strange art/decor. We had general admission tickets so we got there early enough to stand on the higher platform on the side. I think we would have had an awesome view from anywhere in the space though! Valet cost $35 and lasts until 12am if you want to hang out in the area. We didn't but it was still good to know.
This place is amazing. Wonderful place to film and go see a show.
One of my favorite places to see a concert. With all the huge concert halls in LA it is hard to find a small place. This place is great and you get to see medium to big artists there. Parking is everywhere and they make it really easy to get in. You can be down and close or chill out and sit up stairs. Great place
Classic venue. Got to see Jeff Ross roast Blake Griffin here. Great memories.
wow. the thing i absolutely LOVE about this venue is how intimate it is!!! it was basically a small room with a stage and an upstairs balcony. There were some elevated areas to the side of the balcony which was nice. i stood there for a while.
sound was great. venue was a bit old but overall had this old charm to it. Full bar which again was in this old style that i liked.
i would definitely come here again -- intimate shows kinda work
Love the place but get here early to get a balcony seat because it's first come first served.
Who knew how badly West Hollywood needed a seafood restaurant.? The food is always great and it s a wonderful policy that it s a mix of reservations along with walkins. I can bring out of town guests here as well as coming here for a casual dinner with friends. I hope this place never leaves.
Awesome venue! Came for Zara Larsson and Clean Bandit concert!
Killer venue. I saw Two Friends there and it was totally awesome. A great space for a great night.
It's a great venue for small shows. Located in downtown Historic Hollywood along the walk of fame.
The Fonda, is kinda like other small theaters I've been too, the only difference is the Fonda is on Hollywood Boulevard.
The Fonda is surprisingly spacious with a balcony area.
The bathrooms were clean but the fixtures are black which date the place.
Nice large parking lot next door. Paid $20 for all day parking. Security staff was friendly. Bathroom small but acceptable for the area. Stage at perfect height. Balcony had seats which for very long shows looked comfortable with good views. Large bar.
great sound. Nice staff. Not stuffy or sweaty inside. Lovely architecture.
Very cute little concert venue! Wherever you re standing you re probably going to get a good view. The drinks are pretty expensive and week. Parking is available right by the venue (20 dollars) but if you park a little further and walk you ll probably save 10 dollars.
Intimate setting for a concert is so much better than a gigantic crowd. Pink Sweat$ was BEYOND amazing.
I enjoyed the Vip Room everything was great the music was great the atmosphere was electric just a great place to Enjoy a good concert
If they rented cots here I would move in. Just enough Irish culture to make you both appreciate and despise them. Phoebe is a 10/10 with enough patience to both take your order, and tell you to leave when you order a bloody cum shot. Mad respect. I spent my Roth IRA here and have no regrets.
Good sound system, old school atmosphere (was established in the 1920s), only 4 beers on tap but full bar. 2 levels but most concerts are floor GA. A little small.
Didn't really go in, just parked there to see the Hollywood walk of Fame..
saw Nahko & Medicine for the People, Great show, Nice venue
Came to see King Lil G album release party here. The venue was cool beer hella expensive
Great place to watch a concert!! Small which makes the experience intimate on a music level.. We saw Phoenix and if you are a fan.. One of the best concerts EVER as the lead singer walked into the crowd to sing and hangout!! Great time!! Reminds me of the Ventura Theatre where I live!!
The dueling pianos were hilarious and really got the crowd going. Very impressed and service was quick. They definitely have some good deals on their drinks, too - just depends on the day.
Small and intimate venue. The roof area is great for lounging around, would be perfect on a summer night.
Saw queensryche here. Acoustics far exceeded expectations. Great place to see a metal band
Beautiful venue, great piece of L.A., hidden gem, wonderful acoustics.
A pretty kool venue to be at I love how they kept the original designs of the wall of this theatre its beautiful. The seating of this venue is alright but the problem is the lighting that they have for this show it makes it hard to take pictures because half the time when I went to go see a show there they used red and blue light haha which makes the band hard to see but other than that its a mediocre venue
Theatre and Concert Venue, which hosts many events throughout the year.
Plenty of paid and street parking available.
Beautiful theater, definitely on the smaller side in comparison to the other surrounding area.
Saw the Rival Sons there. Great place to watch a band! It's small and the sound is perfect and you're close to the band! Parking is easy nearby! Only drawback is that the restrooms are very small!
Small, intimate club setting. Good sound. Great bartenders. Smackdab in the middle of Hollywood.
