Really great food. Prices are a bit much, but over all great experience. Really loud atmosphere.

Maybe it was the high expectations from recommendations or they had an off day. I shared the 2 most recommended items- chicken and waffles and shrimp and grits. The food was mediocre at best especially factoring the price. I found the quality no better than say waffle house but with a higher menu price. I would recommend passing if there is a wait.

Food was very good as always. Can't go wrong with their daily features. Our server took great care of us as well. I usually eat at one of the other locations but they are very consistent and I know I will get a great meal regardless of the location.

This metro is fantastic. Chicken and waffles? Boom. Protein breakfast? Yeah. Pot roast? Like mom's.

Their bennies are amazing! They are always very willing to make changes to an order. Very friendly staff, the food is always fantastic!

Sorry, But, The Veggies We're Over Cooked With The Pot Roast Dinner. And The KeyLime Pie Tasted Like Old Refrigerated Time.

Nothing short of amazing breakfasts. Best chicken and waffles, hands down. Best corned beef hash as well. Always bring visitors here!

1st let me tell you service could not have been better. Just I sat down , Justin was ready started with unsweetened tea he recommended the turkey dinner. I went with his recommendation it comes with vegetables, red mashed potatoes,turkey,cranberry sauce and small portion of bread. You will not be hungry after this meal. I did not stop there key lime pie and a hot fresh coffee was next. I can safely say that you can definitely find happiness in the combination of Key Lime Pie and coffee. The restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. Prices are on the high side tea,coffee,turkey dinner and key lime pie $23.00.
I have been to other Metro locations but this one is my favorite.

They chicken and waffles is SMASHING . The syrup and hot sauce mix sets it off and its fresh ain't been cooked 30 mins ago.

Got the veggie omlet. It was amazing & the grits were the best ever. Table was sticky, hostess acted annoyed when I asked for a booth... however, the food made up for it.

Love this place, really haven't found an item on the menu I did not like. A bit of warning, most items are large portions. You can ask for half sizes for most things. The burgers are really good and large. There are some items that I still haven't tried yet like the Hala french toast. I am glad the location closest to me is opened for dinner.

I got the Monte Cristo and I have had better elsewhere. It was very greasy inside, like the bread soaked up the grease, and the breading dip around the sandwich was excessive and tasteless. However, the sides were delicious, grilled squash and zucchini. I did try an onion ring from my son's plate and they were delicious. Everyone else I was with loved what they ordered and my son raved about their breakfasts that are served there. My son eats there regularly as he lives in Jacksonville. The service was outstanding for it being high noon on a weekday. My overall experience was good, I just was not happy about the quality of taste of my sandwich. I will happily return and try what I really wanted to order, the Cuban, but I went on the waitresses recommendation when asked which was better, the philly, the cuban, or the Monte Cristo. Go try it for yourself! I recommend it!

Although Metro Diner is a great place to eat, today I was let down. They served me old hashbrowns, took longer than average to close out my bill. Over all was not satisfied.

Very good food for my first time here. Our waitress recommended the chicken and waffles and I'm glad she did. The fried chicken was delicious and reminds me of how my momma makes it. The waffle was crispy (this is very important!!) and soft. It comes with a small ice cream-like scoop of strawberry butter and a bowl of syrup with the option to add hot sauce (ADD THE SAUCE!) and let me tell you all of these flavors combined was simply amazing. The customer service was good but could've been better. Overall...I'll be back, its a promise.

Wake n bake confessional-
Woke up in New Years Eve needing to fill the gut with some serious weight to make sure the alcohol doesn't hit too hard before midnight. After a couple tokes of some pineapple kush headed to Metro. Ripped to the gills I asked Lindsey(super chill girl with great vibes) to hook it up with the breakfast burger.
Dudes...I do not lie when I say it was supreme dankage. The stack was large like a 6ft swell on a Sunday. Beef, cheese, the hash with an egg on top, and then some vegetable stuff. Dank 10/10. Not gonna lie..I had to cut it. She was thick brah!

had breakfast they were out of grits but didn't say so until they brought the eggs by the time the Grits got there eggs were cold my guest ordered crab eggs benedict and the eggs were rubbery overcooked and the hash browns were cold

Amount of food on the plates, service is great, and prices are right. Be prepared for a take out box.

It's the Metro Diner, so of course one expects it to be good. This location was more crowded and noisy at 11:30 than I am accustomed to, but it was still great.

I've been to other Metro diners before. I like the consistency in their service and menus. Did not disappoint.thx

The Metro wins awards for best this and that, and deservedly so. Food quality is very high. Portion sizes are large. Weekend mornings are very popular, so you'll most likely wait for a table. Personal favorite is the Bissell Breakfast, and get the ham.

Chicken & Waffles are VERY recommended. Mine was overcooked but manager replaced with a fresh order no problem. Awesome service!

Not big on the diner scene but my visit here was better than I expected. I came back a few times after to try other items on the menu. I brought the family and tricked them into ordering things I wanted to try.

The service was fast and attentive! On top of water and checking in. Food was great! Large delicious portions. You can tell its freshly made!

After visiting for the second time, I am convinced that they have best Fried chicken and waffles that you can get . The atmosphere is outstanding, the staff exudes great service with a smile. The excellent customer service far exceeds the well know reputation for great food. You will enjoy this restaurant, the staff will make sure that you do.

My goodness! The food was amazing and PLENTIFUL. I forgot our waiters name but he was FANTASTIC!! Excellent food and excellent service

Love it get take out for my parents here at least twice a month or more they always get the BIG D fish sandwich and it's delicious and huge. I love the grilled Ruben all there food is good and the staff is wonderful. Just went to the Bay meadows location for the first time, it was so nice way easier to get a parking spot than on San Jose. I'll be going to this location from now on.

Amazing amazing amazing!!!! Even being so busy on the holiday the crew there was moving and I was seated with in minutes. Food was outstanding and service was above and beyond! Exellent work you guys!! Other establishments could learn a few things from you.

The food is unbelievable. At least the corned beef hash is. It's REAL shredded corned beef with potatoes.

food with real quality ingredients. i will be bringing family next time. bring your hunger - portions are large. similar to a place in denver i loved.

Great food slow but it was very crowded on a Saturday morning

One of my all time favorite places in Jax! They have a wide variety of food and all of it is delicious! The breakfast, the chicken pot pie, the corned beef hash, and most importantly the chicken and waffles are to die for!! Chicken is perfectly fried and the strawberry butter on the waffles is delicious! The sauce they give with it is amazing! Our family eats here quite often! Love that they are open late too!

It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. Shrimp and grits was different than I am used to, but it is a great dish nonetheless. Always look forward to going to The Metro Diner to try new things, just to get the shrimp and grits once again.

I loved the food and service here! When I get back to Florida I'm going here again for sure!

Yum. I love coming here. The wonderful aroma of coffee mixed with pancake syrup that greets you as you walk in the door is unforgettable. I love getting the speciality coffees. They change daily. My favorite thing to order is not on the menu. It was a special years ago, but they'll still make it by request. It's fried chicken benedict. It's two poached eggs on top of fried chicken tenders that are on top of small waffles. The whole thing is covered in hollandaise sauce. I'm also a big fan of the hashbrowns here!

I have been SLEEPING on this one! OMG! METRO DINER is THE BOMB!!! Had the Avacado n Veggie Wrap w Chicken and a side of Tabouli! It was DELICIOUS! And the service was bar none....EXCELLENT! That is one NICE operation! Oh...best part....it was only 10 bucks!

Good food but poor service! Better stay inside and wait for the staff to call your name or else someone will steal your name and take your table! And there s nothing they can do about it....well how about getting pagers that light up for your customers?!

Metro Diner is absolutely the best place to eat the waitresses are very friendly and the food is absolutely delicious
