This was our 1st time at Metro Diner. We had a very hungry 9 yr old boy with us. They obligingly took his order 1st and put it in ahead of ours and made sure he had plenty of everything throughout the meal. The food was very good and the service extremely pleasant. The menu was large and varied. We will be back soon.

Great price great food great staff you get more than what you pay for

Always great food! Only pretty busy all the time so prepare for a wait. They will seat you as quickly as they can; service is friendly and fast.

Food was delicious, and service was great! If you decide to order the orange juice be sure to check the price. $4 for a glass of OJ is a bit much. I would come back and recommend this place

Best diner food in Jacksonville. Easy access to restaurant and they are enlarging for more diner room. Friendly staff and friendly smiles.

Never come to this location again. Left us sitting at the table for 15 minutes until we asked for service. Food was half delivered. Waited until I was gone with my meal before my bacon was delivered after asking for it. Never received a second cup of coffee. Meal was comped and they apologized for the service

The food was amazing and the service even better. Shawna, our server, was sweet and personable, even more impressive since it was thanksgiving. I hope management treats her well; she is a huge asset to your establishment.

Always went for breakfast. But tonight I had the fish it was amazing!!

Friendly service. Food was ok. Hash browns were pretty oily and I ended up having to use the salt and pepper to get a decent flavor. I feel like if I pay more to be at a diner, it has to be better than Waffle House. Might go back if it s convenient enough, but I wouldn t go out of my way.

Honestly my favorite evening place. I will be back with my coworkers. Atmosphere is similar to a cafe in San Jose I loved.

I've been here twice now and both visits were outstanding. The place was PACKED, but we were seated relatively quickly and the service was exceptional. Pretty big portions - a number of us weren't even able to finish our meals! I've had the cheeseburger benedict and the biscuits and gravy. Both were AMAZING! The biscuits and gravy are just like homemade, maybe better (don't tell my dad) :) The hashbrowns tasted a little off on one visit, but the grits and crepes were good.

Metro diner is always awesome! They did however overcook my wife's croissant french toast but before we said a word a lady came up said it looked over cooked and had a new one to us in 15 seconds! I can't rave enough about this place

Metro Diner has amazing food, and the amount of food that is given is great for the price that you pay. I will definitely continue to come to Metro Diner in the future. I would encourage you to try to avoid some of their busier times or you may have a wait of up to 45 minutes!

Not really any vegan options unless you want a expansive salad. Very disappointed and my vegetarian friend didn't have much of a option either.

This is by far my favorite diner. Everything on the menu is fantastic, they always give hefty portions and my kids love all their burgers! I'm plant based and I love that I can customize my order and make replacements without compromising the price. For instance, I got the Bissell breakfast normally with: eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, toast and 2 eggs any style with a side of hot cakes. As a plant based eater I replaced my meats with extra potatoes and sauteed mushrooms, onions and peppers, upgraded to avocado toast with balsamic glaze amd kept my hot cakes. I love I can enjoy meals here with my carnivore children. Lol

Great! Food is made from scratch, servers are nice and on point they knew the menus and you are welcomed as soon as you get in the door. If they have the broccoli and cheese soup GET IT ! It is amazing! I can't wait to go back.

That's my first time going to Metro Diner, and the fired Chicken and waffles OMG!!! From were I live in Georgia I wish we had a Metro Diner in Warner Robins Ga #478.... I know when I come back to Jacksonville I am going to go back for fired Chicken and waffles....

Breakfast is ok but dinner was horrible. The shrimp and grits has zero flavor and way too much sauce. The grit cakes were dry and again flavorless. Over rated and over hyped restaurant if you ask me.

Went for the first time today, it was fantastic!!!! Highly recommended for a great meal and awesome staff!!!!! My wife and I will definitely be going back soon!!!!

Geesh Louise....this place is ridiculously good. Menu selection is off the chains. Service great, food great, and Prices great.

Best breakfast/brunch for your money in Jacksonville FL!

Good breakfast and very good portions for the price.

Food was not hot, like it was done earlier and not picked up and brought to table right away. The waitress was more interested in another server than she was about her tables. We asked for extra butter, we ordered 2 waffles and waitress forgot about it. By the time we finally asked another waitress to get some for us the waffles were cold. Wanted to get coffee refill, I like to have a second cup of coffee with breakfast and never waitress didn't show back with our bill. $53.00 for breakfast of 3 is steep, but usually the food and service is pretty good. This was my first time going to the one on Baymeadows. Could be waitress was having an off day. Not a great experience.

I'd have rated this location a 5 star had service actually been at least on par, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The food is always excellent, and never fails to satisfy. Some, not all, of the wait staff need to remember where business comes from, which is customers. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you get to be crass or short. To-go operates just as poorly.

This Metro Diner location has the same great food and quality as the original, but not as long of a wait. Don't get me wrong, there's still a wait, but at this location it seems like the wait is usually around 15 minutes versus the 45 minute wait at the original location.

Another great meal at Metro Diner. This time key lime infused waffles with raspberry sauce. Talk about seriously delicious. Large fluffy waffles with plenty of filling and plenty of delicious raspberry sauce.

I was in Jacksonville this weekend on a Girls Trip with some of my friends and we visited this Diner after our first option had almost a two hour wait. We were pleasantly surprised with the very warm reception, and wonderful wait staff. Our waitress (Christine) was SUPER!!! She was so kind and made sure that she got every order correct (8 particular ladies). She was assisted by Tempest, who was as equally helpful and oh so friendly!!! I will for sure be coming back. The FOOD was not short of AMAZING!!! This place is a KEEPER!!!

So my wife told me about this place so gave it a shot. Overall very good food. She had the meatloaf and I had the pot roast. The potatoes were cooked very well. I must admit meatloaf was better than most. Love how it wasn't tomato based. The ice tea was home made and very good. I admit I expected a little more quality with this being on tv shoiw but hey it is what it is.

Staff is super friendly food is always delicious! It's like being with family.

Got the pot roast. :-( celery was crunchy. Roast beef was over cooked and tuff. No flavor (except salt). Very disappointed! $11.00 down the tubes.

I will miss this place dearly. Moved away from Jacksonville but will definitely visit this place when I'm in town. Always quick service and the food is on point .
