Wonderfully beautiful and antique hotel with a courteous staff and fabulous AC (which was desperately needed due to the 103* weather at the time). The Library is the bar located inside, and has nightly entertainment which is a great touch. Expect drinks to average $15 a pop.

An excellent option outside of downtown Dallas. Very spacious rooms in a really nice property. Bathroom is perfect, as in a high end hotel. Continental breakfast is quite nice. Customer service was excellent, very accommodating. Overall quality for price is sensational.
This hotel is ok if you like historical hotels. No...
This hotel is ok if you like historical hotels. Not sure this is a good hotel for a purely leisure or business traveler. Yes, the hotel is old and charming to a point but that doesn't mean it can't be given upkeep. I don't think the rooms have been given maintenance and the carpet and furniture in the room look like the may have been there since it opened and not in a good way. Look at the chandeliers in the hallway, you can see the streaks of what appears to be a rag or sponge when once
cleaned. The valet parking is a joke. It only goes until midnight and you're required to valet park. If you come in after midnight you're left to find a spot in the first row of parking because the rest is gated off. Since the spots are not painted people park whichever way they can. Furthermore there are only 2 valets and they are overworked. You'd think for $27 a night for parking they could hire more staff. The hotel skimps on amenities. There is no pool on the 7th floor with a pool bar despite wha a reviewe below says. The gym is a sad gym and some basics like a hair dryer are missing from the room. With the coffee maker, there is a nice logoed mug from the hotel and another cheap, chipped mug for the 2nd person. No security features either, it feels like anyone could walk into the hotel and get on the elevator(key card only required to enter the room). I was fortunate to get this room for about $100 plus tax but how they get away with charging $250 or more is beyond me. The staff at the front desk was attentive and helpful. In the general vicinity The Stoneleigh or Adolphus can cater the historical bug for that mind of traveller and offer a better hotel. The Sheraton, Omni, Hilton Anatole can cater to the business or convention traveller much better. The Fairmont or W for the luxury or trendier traveller. Many of the hotels around Market Center for the budget mid-level traveller. I don't recommend anyone stay here.

We stayed 5 nights and enjoyed our stay.
The bed was comfortable and that's from someone with a bad back.
Though I have a few negative things to say I want to point out no one is perfect and the hotel is an older building.
The bathroom was clean and well supplied however it could use a ventilation fan. Also one day we were not given wash clothes with the towels.
We were given complimentary WIFI which we thought we were going to have to pay for but due to construction in higher floors I assume is the reason for free WiFi.
In my experiences WIFI has always been free.
We used their complimentary shuttle service and driver treated us well.
I found everyone at hotel extremely friendly and helpful.
I would stay here again.

DON'T STAY HERE. I almost never write online reviews, but I wanted to let others know of our experience. This used to be an old family favorite, so my husband and I booked our stay there for a recent Dallas trip. We won't be returning. The suite itself looked tired and out-of-date, with poorly installed carpeting and strange metal panels on the wall protruding into the room that attempted to cover an ancient A/C system. (You could see an air filter in the gap on the sides of these panels). We were given a second floor suite, and the traffic noise was terrible, even with drapes shut and a white noise app. We could also clearly hear our neighbors in an adjoining room through a locked connecting door. The A/C when turned on was even worse than the traffic noise, and sounded like an 18-wheeler. The ceiling fan also squeaked and rattled randomly until we turned it off. The bed and mattress seemed worn out and unsupportive. The toilet was positioned so close to the bathroom wall that you couldn't sit comfortably on it and had to sit almost sideways. There was only one mug for our morning coffee for the two of us (although there were two paper coffee cups). Worst of all, we woke up early in the morning to a very strong mysterious ammonia stench that quickly permeated the suite and caused us to have to open all the windows. As we were planning to leave after a one-night stay anyway, we didn't bother to request a change of rooms. This stay at the Warwick Melrose was totally unacceptable.

Good stay, clean rooms, and friendly staff. I am giving three stars because the toilets are extremely short in the hotel, and the toilet in my room didn't flush unless I held the lever down for twenty seconds. My room was on the Office Depot side and every night an alarm kept going off for about an hour that I am assuming was at Office Depot, it was extremely loud; the first time it happened was 10-11:30 pm, and the next evening at 2 a.m. this hotel does not have a pool, and parking is valet only.
I did enjoy the bar, and the bartender Roger is very customer service orientated, and makes the best drinks that I have ever had.
The kitchen staff knows what they are doing because wow, the food is phenomenal for a hotel.
I was sitting in the lobby for about an hour one day and want to say to anyone thinking of staying here, stop being entitled meanies to the front desk staff. I cannot tell you how many people checked in who were so ungrateful, one customer said she would be "very upset" if her room could not be upgraded, another man was upset there was no pool AFTER the desk staff upgraded him from a room to a suite. Honestly, it was just sad to see so many different people treat an employee with such disrespect who was trying so hard to make his customers happy. Customer service and satisfaction is the priority of the staff, but at what cost to their mental health when they are consistently being treated this way? Being nice will 9/10 times get you a nice upgrade. Please be nice to the staff whether you have $1000 bucks to your name or $1.0 mil, they are just trying to make a living like you are.

We loved our stay at Warwick Melrose. It was our first time visiting TX and we were in for a family wedding. The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, the downstairs piano bar is such a gem with the live music! Everyone from front desk to valet to the cleaning staff is kind and friendly. We ll definitely be back!

Stayed here not by choice but due to national board exam. I do not understand the 5-star reviews because for the price you are paying, the place is old, rumors that it is haunted, toliets that have the bare minimum water pressure (takes about a minute to flush), bed sheets that are nasty (I had blood stains on my bed sheets) and nothing is free here - they should allow free wifi at least in the common areas. Paying $10/day for wifi at this digital era is ridiculous. If you are into more modern hotels, avoid and spend your money at a Hilton or Westin (probably you can book a room for a similar price).
Giving it at least two stars cause the staff was courteous and location is nice.

In this day and age do we see such amazing customer service. My husband and I decided to come to Dallas for the weekend for leisure. From arrival to departure, we received phenomenal treatment from every single staff member we encountered. From the valet personnel, to the bellman, to the front desk agent, the service was simply outstanding. In particular I would like to recognize the front desk agent, Bernie H. He facilitated our check in with such courtesy and ease. He even went as far as to give my husband and I an offer of an upgrade to one of the properties suites. The suite was very elegant and beautiful. This is what I call customer service this particular staff member went above and beyond to satisfy. Most would have just checked us in and sent us on our way instead he offered us an upgrade for small upgrade fee. This hotel is an older property but the ambience and Decour of this hotel are simply beautiful. This hotel is very affordable; five star amenities at a reasonable price. I Will definitely be returning to this property for business and pleasure visits to Dallas

Gigantic room. Could use a bit more lighting in certain areas, like the shower area. Great TVs, copious amounts of hot water, fun views, great service, and car service was a great help.
Could have been a bit quieter, valet parking is the only option, that we saw, and is a bit expensive. No free wifi, really?!? Beds were OK. Why does no where have fans???

Not very busy due to the holiday, but good value as usual - great rooms and service. Would prefer to self park versus excessive valet cost!
This has to be the worst experience I ve ever had ...
This has to be the worst experience I ve ever had at a luxury hotel. I reserved a room for a milestone birthday, hoping to treat myself to breakfast in bed on a pile of pillows.
Instead what I got was hammering and drilling in the room below me. They didn t bother mentioning anywhere on the reservation site that the hotel was under renovation. The woman at the front desk told me AFTER I checked in, well after it was too late to back out, but she assured me it wouldn t be an issue because they were two floors below and on the other side of the building. That was a lie. They were directly below me. I recorded it and the noise level sounds like they were in the room with me. No amount of complementary ear plugs could block that amount of noise.
After I complained, the staff was nice enough to comp room service. But then I looked closer at the bill. The night before, they had treated me to champagne and strawberries for my birthday, a delightful surprise that absolutely made my night. Well it turns out they charged me for it and didn t tell me. The room was also supposed to include parking for the day. And yet I ended up with a charge for $27 for that, as well. And to add insult to injury, the room service bill included not just tax and service charge and a special hotel tax of some sort, but also a line item that literally just says misc . As in an extra whatever charge we re throwing in just cuz we can. (Also, side note for management: charging $7 for a bottle of Fuji water is a cheap cliche unbecoming of a hotel of your supposed status. High end hotels don t do that anymore. That s some cheap roadside motel BS.)
If the hotel disclosed up front that they were under renovation, then I would have booked somewhere else for my special birthday treat and come back when they were done. No harm, no foul. But the fact that they hid that from me and pulled a bait and switch is just disgusting. All of the promo materials promise luxury, class, 5-star treatment. Instead I woke up in the middle of a construction zone and paid dearly for the privilege. I m not coming back. Ever.

Needs an upgrade to the entire hotel, room and experience. The staff is really nice- but the room service line was a little sleepy. I stayed while construction was going on- not the best experience during the day, but they set expectations. The Library Bar has a great vibe. Once Warwick remodels it will be on point.

I had the opportunity to stay in the Presidential Suite the last time I stayed here and I wish this rating system went up to 10 stars because that s the number the staff deserves. My room was amazing. The view was amazing! The food was AMAZING!!!! I felt like royalty, or the president, well not the current one, but let s say I felt presidential. Honestly one of the best hotel stays of my life.

Lovely hotel, comfortable bed, great staff
I am a big fan of historic hotels, and the Warwick Melrose does not disappoint: it's a well-maintained property with a beautiful lobby and hotel bar and charming, tasteful rooms. I stayed 4 nights in a standard King with a fantastically comfortable bed, and enjoyed a delicious room service meal (I did not try the hotel's elegant restaurant but intend to do so next visit). Wonderful staff also! This is an older property with no room to expand its facilities, and with that comes a few drawbacks: valet parking is almost mandatory given limited street parking and no self-service lot nearby, and while the hotel does have a fitness center, there's no pool or on-site spa. Regardless, I will stay at the Warwick Melrose on my next trip to Dallas.

Nice, old, charming hotel with large rooms. The top floors have a good view down on the tree-filled neighborhood. My only minor complaint is that the AC was loud and its cycles infrequent, leading to large temperature swings (warm to comfortable to warm). But overall, it's a nice place to stay.

I was here in February for a board exam and felt well cared for here. They ve been hosting candidates for a long time and are aware of the stress of the event and gave clear information on where to go, where shuttles leave from, etc. The hotel itself is nice, big clean room with a separate sitting area and wet bar, good Caesar salad on the room service menu. Short walk to several shops and restaurants.

I attended an event there and was blown away by the customer service and the great, high quality food. They had a large cheese and meat tray with fresh fruit, veggies, and crackers the Lobster and truffle macaroni and cheese were to die for, and all the passed appetizers were delicious! Update: initially I had given this 2 stars due to a couple of rude night staff employees who kind of made the night not so great. However, the rooms were nice and clean. I loved the bed, and it was a great place to stay despite the service incident. The valet employees were nice as well and very quick. After reaching out to the manager, he helped resolve our issues within hours of sending the email. This really made up for it and we really appreciated it and will be back since this was a pleasant hotel. Also check out the library bar, super relaxing and has some great talent I think almost every night! Thanks again Melrose.

The Warwick is one of the oldest and most classic hotels in the downtown Dallas area. Snuggled secretly in the Oak Lawn neighborhood it is almost as if it is a safe secret that no one can find out about unless they truly want to period it remains Untouched by all the many Renovations that so many of the other Hotel companies seem to think they must do in order to get people to come to stay at their hotels and yet the Warwick remains busy with laughter and happiness throughout the week.
