This hotel is very disappointing and desperately in need of updates. They've now added to neighborhood blight by paving over a large section of the block for an ugly parking lot and cutting down trees. This place should just relocate to the suburbs where it belongs.

Be careful about the pricing on this place. They ripped me off. I was way overcharged for a visit to the library (the hotel bar) which I billed to the room and was overcharged more than $100 but I lost the receipt. Further I got charged more than agreed for the rooms. Be very careful here as they are scams

The room was not what I expected, the loud planes and loud cars on the street as well as the Ambulance and police cars. You could hear everything. The food was unexpectedly cold and hard and the chips you could tell that they had been in a fridge for awhile. Extremely Expensive for what you get.and lots of small fees.

Awful customer service. Awful front desk. No parking except for very expensive valet. After we checked in within an hour we got a knock on the door saying that the TV was too loud... are you kidding me?!!! It was literally on 6 on the volume scale and I just spent $200 for a room! Will never come back. Also, water was off and on due to some kind of construction/renovation. Just not worth the price to be treated like you don't matter .

Gorgeous historic hotel with one helluva bar that belongs in a movie setting! Surrounded by a library type of atmosphere with everything you could want from. A bottle and plenty more delicious hand crafted drinks. The rooms are stellar and the service is amazing, highly recommended!

This hotel is super clean inside and out. I love how helpful the staff is here. They make sure everything is up to par. The Library is a great place to unwind and get settled in. The neighborhood (Oak Lawn) is very lively and has a great night life as well. I highly recommend Melrose for anyone's stay.

This has always been one of my favorite hotels. Upon check in, everything was great--valet, front desk, the room, our driver. We enjoyed time in the Library Bar.
Three small criticisms:
1. There has often been an issue with noise between rooms and that held true this time.
2. The driver told us to call when we were ready to be picked up as long as it was before 10:30. We called at 9:45 to let them know we would like to be picked up in 30 minutes and were told we couldn't request a specific time in advance. So we called back at 10:20 and were told we couldn't be picked up at all. I find that unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.
3. Valet when we were leaving were obnoxious. We don't enjoy paying $30 to park a car plus tips to be mocked and condescended to...

Room was very nice. Everyone working was quite friendly. Like all expensive hotels, they charge extra for everything though. No free WiFi, which is ridiculous in this day and age. $20 continental breakfast. Crazy drink prices at the hotel bar. Other than the WiFi issue, though, I guess the rest is to bebe expected.

The rooms are very spacious. They're like single bedroom apartments. There are well furnished individual rooms within my room. They are not like the open space rooms common in most hotels, where the only separation is the bathroom. These rooms have a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and living room. The food service is a bit higher in coat, but overall I am pleased.

Rooms are spacious and loaded with necessary appliances (ie. TV, refrigerator, hot water/coffee machine, many wall sockets and USB chargers for your electronics, etc). Beautiful large windows and a nice, upgraded TV. Bathroom includes a vanity.

Both the maid and the valet looted my valuables. Tablet, phone and other work supplies taken by valet. Medication looted by maids. At least the maids were sneaky about it and only took a few pills. Wes Williams however the valet is highly suspicious based on the way he treats guests.

Literally just don t stay here if you respect yourself or your property. You would be the only one who does if you did stay here.

Really loved this hotel and the price. Very charming! Rooms were spacious, and the bed and pillows were oh so very comfy. Nice lounge and bar area for a cocktail. Staff is very friendly. Wish list would be a fridge and jetted tub in the rooms!

The service at this place is nop notch. Bellhop will bring your luggage to your room, full valet, staff is always ready to help. They will literally bring utensils or appliances to your room, or even run across the street to Walgreens for you. Truly above and beyond. Besides that, the hotel itself is gorgeous and the Library bar is extremely classy.

Great hotel if you're looking to stay Uptown. We booked this hotel for $136 a night and it can't be beat. Just remember to enroll in their rewards for free WiFi. Our room was super clean and we'll appointed. I haven't been to any other hotels in Texas, but the rooms we're very large. The only downside is there's no parking. You'll need to valet your car for 27 a night + taxes.

The valet service at the Warwick is great. Andrew with the valet team was superb! He was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was beautiful and the perfect charm I needed for my visit.

No indoor or outdoor pool. The faucets in my bathroom what's in reverse, the early morning plane takeoffs we're annoying and woke me up. There are signs at the rear of the hotel for Uber and Lyft pickups but they actually picks you up out front

My boyfriend's parents stayed the night and said the rates were very reasonable for the location. I will probably recommend it for my parents when they visit Dallas. Picking up visitors is a bit awkward because of the valet. But you won't get charged extra for long good-byes or cars breaking down in the parking lot, which is nice.

I was here for a work seminar/ training. Small, specialty hotel in a location convenient to the gay bars and great restaurants. I liked it much better than the hotels downtown where I normally stay in Dallas. Friendly, accommodating staff. Small bar with great drinks, reminding me of someone's private study.

Absolutely no parking unless you pay for valet or park on the street. There are at most 10 spaces within a block on the street as everywhere else is either a 2 hour limit or no parking ever

First off- they changed my review rating from a 1 star to a 4.. so that makes me think the hotel is bringing decietful. The grounds were nice but the rooms were small! Said it could sleep 4 on a king WUT?! Sleeps two! Bummer- also for the high rate, you would expect SOMETHING to be complimentary ?! We paid nearly $200 for the room, $50 for a pet, $27 for valet and not once did they fetch the car, $20 for WiFi?! No free breakfast:( I m almost sure they will charge me for the k-cup we used. We won t be back I m afraid:( GREAT GAYBORHOOD THOUGH

Room was nice and spacious, in a nice location. There is only hot water in the room it was almost impossible to get cold water. There was an option to park in the street for free other wise pay $27.99 a night to park with valet.

I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about this place. even the fact that we had a tornado come through while we were there. that went so well, that's the place I'd want to be if you have to be near a tornado.

we tried to war with Melrose restaurant as possible place to meet with clients for lunch. The food was okay but a little bit pricey, but the room was very resident so be difficult to have a private conversation even though it was quiet.

THE place in uptown to stay if you're gay. Most of the clientele is gay and you're safe there. it is a little expensive for the northern part of that town but still a pretty good quality.

Nice hotel with a fun bar with great drinks. Fantastic service highlighted by the surprise champagne and strawberries that were sent to the room after we had mentioned to the front desk that we'd had a rough day when we checked in. Greatly appreciated the effort and initiative that was taken to provide a nice gesture to help turn our night around.

I spent two nights in a corner king room at this location. The staff was courteousand inviting, valets were prompt, and room was well maintained. This room had the modern ammenities a 30 something comes to expect including wifi, and places for us charging, all while maintaining an old world charm. My wife and I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to all manner of individuals visiting Dallas.

Staff were really nice to us because we were on our honeymoon, besides that it is a lovely hotel, nice food, nice and clean rooms, handy shuttle service and it was great value for mony.

I've stayed here before and it's always lovely. There were a couple of things this last visit, however. The desk staff seemed distant. He never made eye contact with me and never smiled. When he examined my ID, I felt like I was being carded at a bar. Secondly, the room A/C seemed broken. It was 113 (!) that day and I wasn't in the room long enough to really notice that it wasn't freezing. Stayed at 80. Later in the evening, it was still 20 degrees cooler than outside, and I just fell asleep. Great ceiling room fan, btw. Then in the morning, still 80. Didn't ruin my trip, and I'm sure they would have given me another room if I'd complained. But still, shouldn't the cleaning staff notice? Everything thing else was their usual high standards.

I was here for a weekend wedding, stayed for 4 nights total. I'll break down my review into pros and cons.

Pros:
- beautiful interior, well done refurbishment and great decor
- staff was super friendly and helpful (especially the valet crew)
- room was great, bathroom was super

Cons:
- paper thin room walls, could hear both neighbors the whole time
- elevator got stuck
- it is across the road from a fire station, which we heard all night long
- there's major construction on the backside
- housekeeping comes early (woke us up)

Overall good experience but the noise made an impact.

I stayed here for my wedding in April; Friday night was with my bridesmaids, and Saturday was with my husband. I regret that we had a very disappointing experience.

Since it was Final Four weekend in Dallas, rooms were selling at a premium. We booked a suite for $500/night. Having paid this much money on a room, we expected to be treated kindly and with respect.

When I checked in on Friday around 3 p.m., I requested a roll-away bed for my bridesmaids. The employee at the check-in desk promised me one for Friday night. I also gave her a heads up that a photographer would be on site taking photos on Saturday of me and my bridesmaids. I wanted to confirm this was alright, and she smiled, nodded, and explicitly said, "yes."

When we returned Friday night after my rehearsal dinner, we didn't have a roll-away bed in the room. My bridesmaids went to the front desk to request one, but the hotel was completely out. Rather than apologizing and offering to fix the situation, the manager at the desk (Derrick?) treated my bridesmaids as if they were children and completely dismissed them. They were offered pillows and blankets to sleep on the floor. $500 a night for a suite, and my bridesmaids slept on the floor.

Running out of roll-away beds is inevitable on a busy night at a hotel. It's a completely different situation, however, when one is requested and explicitly promised at check-in, then never delivered.

On the day of my wedding, I went downstairs to the front desk to once again confirm that my photographer was coming and was going to take pictures of me and my bridesmaids leaving the hotel. This time, the hotel informed me that they charge to take photos, and unless we were prepared to pay for a photoshoot, my photographer was not to take photos at the hotel.

This was followed-up by a phone call from my wedding coordinator and a personal visit from my photographer, but we were still denied permission. After paying $1000 to stay at the hotel, we felt it was unjust to pay an additional fee just to take photos of us leaving.

We were paying guests at the hotel. And we couldn't take pictures. On my wedding day. Besides the photos we took in the room, I have zero pictures of me and my bridesmaids before we went to the church for the wedding.

This is supposedly one of the best hotels in Dallas, but the service we received during our stay April 4-6 was not reflective of this.
