Very very weird, and boring - should be called "no, sleep more". First walked around without purpose, not knowing what to do. Afterwards the scenes were too long, went on and on without visible intent. No explanation of the plot was given in the end of those 3 long hours. And on top of all, very overcrowded, couldn't see half of the scenes.

Incredible experience. What a delight, a horror, a thrill! So much fun to interact in this 'haunted house,' never overwhelming but always entertaining. You wander around with curiosity and delight, fear and wonder. A must-do in NYC if you're interested in a unique artful experience.

It's really gooood experience show. Not only give your the environment to experience the 1930's, also give your personally interaction with those beautiful actress and actors. One of the best show you have to see when you in NEW YORK!!! I love it!!! My most like show!!!! :)

Sleep no more was certainly interesting. Very different to anything I'm likely to ever see outside of NYC. I wish I had reread Macbeth before going though. Without a frame of reference, it can be utterly confusing.

GO TO SEE WHAT DREAMS MAY COME.

Seriously, go. Go now. Why are you still reading this? Do that instead.

GO. But when you need a drink after the show, go ahead and skip the rooftop bar here. It isn't the only rooftop bar in Manhattan, but it might be the most expensive.

Probably one of the coolest experiences you can have, anywhere. Sleep No More is a dream brought to life. Immersive theater based on a silent recreation of Macbeth in a five story, re-purposed, historical hotel.

Sleep no more.

Sleep no more.
The entire six-story building
It's a new concept of play that follows the actors who wear the same masks and play together.
Repeat the play twice per hour.

I also follow the actors I want to follow
This is the type that should be framed.

You can touch or eat the props, or you can go right behind and read the letter.
You can even take out the candy in the can.

This place is amazing. First the rooftop bar, which is more of a garden, then the show. Sleep no more is mesmerizing. It is a must do in NYC, even several times. You literally take part in the show.

Sleep No More was a truly unique and fascinating theater experience. Incredible talented cast and crew, intricate set design and a very clever adaptation from the source materials. I really appreciate all the secrets and small details the creative team put into this production. It's definitely an experience worth repeating.

Really unique theater experience. Be prepared with decent walking shoes since you will be walking and running around in various paths, including dirt roads. Give yourself 3 hours for a decent experience. No cameras or phones allowed.

This is an amazing off-off-broadway. I thought it wouldn't live up to the hype but it truly does. Skill and strength of the performers is incredible. Amazing modern dance mixed in with great presence. Keep in mind, with this event you will get out what you put in. If you don't keep up with the performance you will miss out. There's a lot of running up and down stairs and admittedly I'm not in stellar shape but I kept up just fine and even netted a "one on one" experience. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a unique theatre experience. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared to move.

Lots of fun. The entire hotel is amazingly decorated in a creepy 20's feel through out all the floors and its yours to explore. Follow an actor or just venture off on your own catching what you can.

This the best experience I have ever had in immersive theatre (Sleep No More). Everything is period (1930s) and you feel though you are walking through a dream. You can also go to the Manderley Bar separate from the performance-they often have musical acts later in the evening and it feels like a smoky jazz bar lost in time.

A very unique experience. I would recommend you to focus on a couple of characters and really follow them around rather than exploring the hotel. I tried to follow different actors around which meant that I couldn't grasp any of the stories fully. It is warm in here and a bit too crowded. Show up early to have enough time to explore the place. The coat check system was awful and it took me a good 30 mins to get out with my coat.

You have to check your coat, and the drinks at the bar are expensive, but otherwise this is one of the most exciting and unique theatrical experiences available in New York. Recommended for people with all ranges of interest in theatre and dance.

Saw Grouplove here last week, and the concert venue is amazing. Intimate, with great sound. Would have liked it if the group had been able to play much longer though- they got cut short. It's a shame because they had such good energy going. I've also been to Sleep No More twice here. It's like a dream! Fun time, I want to go again!

So, so bad. Don't waste your time. They achieve nothing but homage to 20's noir which did translate in the beautiful set design, but the show is a bore. My review is relevant to all of you who may confuse this show with anything eerie or macabre, it is not. The Count from Sesame Street accomplishes a better portrayal of an eerie genre than this play.

But if you like mimes, dancers, and a Broadway fan you might like this show/ If you get to see it. Remember when you had to run for good seats in a movie theater before the era of reservations? Expect to have to do that all night, with a stupid mask on lol.

Sleep No More is unlike any other show I have ever seen. Set in an old/classic hotel in the 1940s, the artistic play is very loosely based on MacBeth and is acted by a group of performers live in various rooms of the hotel -- all while the audience is immersed and walks around in the same hotel following the characters. Audience members wear masks for a voyeurism-like effect and are free to roam around the hotel and follow different characters as they see fit. It's spooky, it's immersive, it's riveting.

The immense amount of detail that has been put into the hotel setting is absolutely mind-blowing. Even without the characters and the show itself, I could wander around the hotel just exploring the intricate and amazing props, production design and general architecture of the hotel. Each room has so much detail -- I am amazed they let audience members roam around so freely and touch and feel things.

The play itself is very abstract and artistic. It's more a form of dance/ballet than a play, and it doesn't have a dialogue (unless you count body language as such). You really don't need to know MacBeth, though I suppose an understanding of MacBeth gives you some background info on some of the scenes. The characters sometimes also interact with the a few individuals from the audience.

What amazes me most is that for the entire duration of the 2+ hour show, the characters are somehow in sync with each other. Even though they might wander alone in different rooms at different times, I am astonished to see them meet up at various times of the play in various rooms to continue their act together. Given that you can't possibly follow all characters all the time, I think I will go here again to experience it from another perspective.

In addition to the play, there is also a very nice bar set in the 1940s/1950s, where you can retreat from the play and just listen to jazz/period music from that time. They seem to be playing for a while even after the show ends, though it became too crowded with all the audience members coming out, so we left early.

I do agree with other reviewers though that sometimes there were too many audience members, so I recommend doing the late night showing at 11pm or go on a weekday instead. All in all, while it's an expensive show, I thought it was well-worth it, and probably will return here again.

Interactive show.

Interactive show.

An interactive reenactment of Macbeth where the play takes place all around you and you run from room to room following various actors. Be prepared to be pulled into small rooms by the actors for intimate one-on-ones (keep your distance if that's not your thing). Expect full nudity and somewhat gory scenes.

Tips:
*Brush up on Macbeth beforehand
*Wear shoes and clothing you can walk/run in
*Change into your contacts for this one because you'll have to wear a face mask the entire time.
*Try to find Macbeth ASAP when you get in, and follow him through one rotation before exploring the other side characters.
*Candy store on the 4th floor if you're craving some sweets.
*The set is interactive so eat the food, turn the taps, pick up and read the letters etc.

Sleep No More is one of the best theatrical experiences I've ever had. The space is so expansive and yet so detailed, and the actors are so committed, and just plain incredible dancers. The show is pretty expensive for the average joe struggling artist in New York, but if you can piece together $100, it is totall worth it!

Been multiple times and loved it every time - I always see something new :) the Heath and Gallow Green are also two of the most unique spots I've been to in the city. Can't recommend it more!

Totally enjoyed my experience in "Sleep No More". The performers were masters of their craft and it was real + genuine. To date I'm still trying to decipher the entire content and my friend and I exchanged our perspectives that day. However the peeps who manage the coats were rude like a N Yorker and tickets were overbooked. This overcrowding was a safety concern as we jostle and some people pushed to run after characters.

Sleep no more is awesome. The only reason i rate this 3 stars is that i felt this was not entirely my cup if tea. This was unfortunate, because the unique concept is very well worked out, with attention to detail, novel ideas and absolutely great actors and dancers. It could very well be that i'm not familiar enough with ballet, theatre to appreciate how well this was done - that's my bad. Or maybe it was because i went alone - this might very well be more appreciated in groups. Anyhow, this should be a must-go event for anyone who loves theater, new and unexpected situations or mystery (in the detective sense). The creators deserve all the credit possible for making something like this from scratch and still achieving something with this quality. So if you have the chance, by all means go; the worst that can happen is that, like me, it will not be your 'thing' and even then you will have a really interesting evening.

This experience is truly unmatchable, and a must see if you live in or visit New York. Weeks after I saw the show, I couldn't stop thinking about it. In my daily life, I discovered an insatiable curiosity that I learned while exploring the McKittrick hotel. I can't wait to go back and experience it again!

One of the most amazing pieces of immersive theatre I've ever experienced. Beautiful, sexy and mysterious, I've seen it twice and there's still so much to discover! Remember that fortune favors the bold, run down passageways, rummage through drawers, get in the performer's space and be open to the whole experience. The only reason why you wouldn't enjoy this is if you had no idea what you were getting into or if you were completely closed off to experiencing something different, dirty and exciting.

Don't hold your companions hand, get lost, get separated, explore! The journey is always more fruitful when it's an individual one and always remember that you are in complete control of your experience. If it's ever too much the exit signs are clear and the staff in black masks are everywhere to help you out. It's really the initial rush of being alone and having to explore that freaks you out a little but after that it's all adventure! Have fun lovelies.

Sleep no more! It was difficult and my physical strength was exhausted, but I would like to see where I can experience this kind of experience if not in New York. The person who guides you when you first enter is an actor, and from there, you feel like you are in a theater stage.. I feel like you are in a different world. There is a somewhat sensational and violent scene, so I think I will never come to Korea.. There are still many things I don't understand, so I'd like to see you again next time I come to New York.

This is not the place for a large party (10 people or more). Do not bother with the prefix menu from the Lodge as all the dishes are pre-prepped and reheated. If planning to attend the Heath don't get the VIP pass - the drink tickets only gets you wine or beer. Overall - Not worth the $$$$

The show would be excellent if there were fewer people in the audience. It's become so overrun that there are dozens of audience members chasing around any given actor. I felt like a tourist in a cattle-herd mentality tour group, chasing some umbrella-holding tour guide around a haunted mansion. Every time the actors would perform a scene, huge crowds of audience surrounded them and the intimacy was lost. The whole experience felt too "touristy" rather than "intimate". I can imagine that the show was a lot more fun and intimate before it got so popular.

One of a kind experience. Excellent production from all aspects. I enjoyed wandering around and getting lost in the massive space (they encourage you to probe around) over trying to follow the actors and their overlapping story lines. I'll probably go again to catch stuff I missed.

I really enjoyed the lobby/bar area. If you feel fatigued at any time (or scare easily) during the three hour plus show, grab a seat at the bar and enjoy some jazz. So long as you don't get lost!
